  • Ubiquitous Computing System란, 언제 어디서나 통신 및 컴퓨팅이 가능하고 컴퓨팅 시스템이 상호간에 정보를 공유하고 협력하는 컴퓨팅 시스템이다. 이로써 기존의 컴퓨팅 환경과 같이 사용자와 컴퓨터간의 대화형 상호작용이 아닌 물리적인 환경 상황(Context)등을 시스템이 스스로 인식하고 이를 기반으로 사용자와의 상호 작용을 지원하는 상황인식 기술이 필수적인 요소로 부각되고 있다. 또한, Ubiquitous Computing System을 위해 사용자 및 주변 환경 정보를 감지하는 센서(Sensor) 기술이 필요하다. 하지만 사용자 및 주변 환경으로부터 입력되는 불확실하거나 모호한 상황정보에 대한 표현과 추론에 대한 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 본 논문은 이런 이유에서 Rule-based System을 기반으로 CRS와 DOS의 개념을 도입한 새로운 상황인식 기반의 Architecture를 제안하고, 이를 VHDL을 통해 SoC로 구현하였다. CRS를 통해 실시간으로 다양한 센서에서 들어오는 많은 데이터에 가중치를 부여하여 각 센서마다 중요도를 달리 부여한다. 이로써, System은 Sensor 입력 값의 중요도에 따라 처리 순서를 우선적으로 부여하여 처리 속도를 높인다. 또, DOS를 통해 각양각색의 사용자에게 획일적인 서비스를 제공하는 것이 아니라 상황 변화의 패턴에 따라 개별화되고 특화된 서비스를 제공한다. 마지막으로, Ubiquitous Computing System의 향후 발전 가능성을 예상하고, 본 논문에서 제시한 Context-aware Architecture에 의해 구현된 UoC의 유용성을 짐작해 본다.

  • In this paper, we propose CAMAR Core Platform as a framework for context-aware mobile augmented reality system development after brief introduction of limitations in the previous mobile augmented reality (AR). There have been many research activities on mobile AR due to recent enhancement of functionalities of mobile devices and development of relevant technologies to mobile augmented reality. In order to be used in ubiquitous computing environment, however, mobile AR systems should be able to utilize available contextual information, augment personalized contents, and share the augmented contents with other users. Thus, the proposed CAMAR Core Platform can provide such functionalities to those who want to develop CAMAR systems. To show the feasibility of the proposed framework, we show several applications based on the framework.

  • Recently, feasible services in ubiquitous computing environment are commonly based on context -aware computing. With the concept of context-awareness we can imagine more effective way to measure human being's daily stress and provide anti-stress services. Our study introduces logical and methodological approach to manage the stress through the development of stress index. From the practical perspectives, we also designed a business model for u-SMC, which is a profitable organization specialized in providing stress measurement services and personalized anti-stress services by utilizing the stress index model.

  • In the age of ubiquitous computing, computer systems will be seamlessly integrated into our everyday life, providing services and information to us in an anywhere, anytime fashion. This ubiquitous computing can be used for developing a ubiquitous learning (U-learning). In this paper, we present a framework for U-school in which ubiquitous computing technologies are applied to advance the existing ERSS (Korea's Educational Resources Sharing System). Our framework applies mobile, sensor, and context-aware technologies to the existing ERSS. This framework presents a user-centric learning environment, using user-centric scenario. The U-school with context-aware services therefore can lead to the just-in-time learning or learner-led learning based on dynamic contexts acquired from learners, teachers and computing entities.

  • In this paper, we Provide context-aware services based on UPnP Device Module including sensor unit in existing PLC network without additional infrastructure. so existing PLC devices are controlled based on knowledge context and can be used in a ubiquitous environment. And efficient remote control and device management based on UPnP can also be provided.

  • Recent robot software platform research focuses on providing intelligent service via abstraction of robot devices. Context-aware techniques are necessary for intelligent robot services, which are based on the perception of environmental information obtained from heterogeneous sensors in IoT environment. Robot Operating System (ROS) provides protocols to operate robot devices. ROS includes functions for abstracting heterogeneous sensors themselves in order to control the robot, however, it lacks the ability to provide context information that the robot can perceive based on environmental information through consistent collection methods. In this paper, we propose a relay system for ROS to provide context-aware robot service. The proposed system makes it possible for ROS to control and provide context-aware robot services with relay of an external context-aware system and ROS. In experiments, we demonstrate procedures that robot services abstracted from ROS and an external context-aware system works together based on the proposed system.

  • There has been an increase in the interest of applications that use a combination of both pervasive computing technology and context-aware technology. This application based on the development environment along with the support of developing context-aware applications is now being researched thoroughly and by many. The service management system provides services that are needed for context-aware applications. This system is an integral part of the developmental environment of context-aware applications. But there is a restrictive matching based on ontology that uses simple syntactic matching or a plain type of service used in previous researches. And there is also no consideration for context-aware information. Also, if the user is unable to find a service that is satisfactory, or is a service which a user does not desire, they may use a service which is composed of other existing services. This paper proposes a service management system based on context-aware information. The proposed system enables the accurate finding of services by considering semantic matching methods based on ontology and context-aware information. If the user does not find a service that is helpful in the service registry, it can provide the service list to enable other existing service compositions, by providing the functionality of these service compositions. As a result, the experiment of the system proposed has shown that the system properly supported the service discovery based on context-aware information and service composition.

  • The Context-Aware system is the core technology in the Ubiquitous Computing Environment. Recently, the practical use of a sensor is magnified and the application fields of it are gradually extended in order to collect necessary context information. Context-Aware service integrates the context information which is collected by sensors, and then provides, a suitable service to a user through the process of analysis and reasoning. This service is studied in a variety of fields such as marketing, medical treatment, education and so on. In this paper, we analyze the method of recognizing surrounding context and the result of the awareness by using differential and structural property of multiple valued logic function; propose the model that provides appropriate service depending on the change of surrounding contort; confirm the applicability of the Context-aware system by showing the example of application.

  • This paper describes a design and application of middleware that is essential to the context-aware system. We define a transducer interface protocol in order to deal with a variety of context data. For the purpose of systematic process of data between middleware modules, a message oriented middleware is designed and implemented. Memory improves the performance of high-performance computing system compared to previous strategies. Context aware middleware adopts service oriented architecture so that functions in modules may be independent and scalability can be remarkable. Using messages across modules decreases the complexity of the application development. In order to justify the usefulness of the proposed context aware middleware, we carried out our experiments in bridge health monitoring system and verified the efficacy.

  • In this thesis, we propose ontology based context-aware recommendation system using concept hierarchy(OCARCH), Context-aware recommendation services are useful to provide an user with relevant information and/or services bared on his current context, However several approaches to context-aware recommendation system have been already proposed, each of them provide information without considering level of information concept bared on his current context, For this reason, we propose OCARCH as system capable of helping people to find their way quickly and easily through large amounts of information by determining level of information concept based on his current context, We are also using prefetching algorithm to store recommendation information that the user is likely to need in the near future based on current predictions, Therefore the OCARCH enables users to obtain relevant information efficiently, Several experiments are performed and the experimental results show that the proposed system provides more effective than conventional context-aware recommendation system.
