An analytic study on the bond stress between steel tube and concrete in concrete filled steel(CFT) rectangular column is presented in this paper. Recently buildings need members which are enhanced durability and ductility. Concrete filled rectangular column system is proposed as alternative plan. In this paper, ABAQUS/Standard Version 5.8 which is identified as usefulness for finite element analysis and has various element library is used. The variables in this study are the location and type of shear-connector. The modeling on contact problem practiced by Contact Pair and Contact Pressure method. In the step of physical bond, it is practiced by Change friction option After yielding of models, analytic results is less than that of experimental results.
We propose a patterning method of liquid crystal (LC) alignment layer for producing multi-domain LC structures. By controlling thermal conditions during micro-contact printing procedures and facilitating wetting properties of patterning materials, patterned LC orientation can be easily obtained on a bare ITO surface or other polymer films. The newly proposed patterning method is expected to be a very useful tool for fabricating multi-domain LC structures to enhance or design electro-optic properties of LC-based devices.
The non-contact laser measurement system what can be used for the vibration analysis of structures is discussed. There are few systems using laser speckle interferometer for vibration analysis. One of these systems is the Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometer (ESPI). With ESPI system, one can obtain the vibration mode shape qualitatively and the maximum vibration amplitude quantitatively of the structure at each resonance frequency. In this paper, the phase-shifting ESPI system with stroboscopic illumination for measuring vibration mode shapes is constructed and the operating software is programmed. The results are compared with that of commercial ESPI system.
Pounding damage to bridges and buildings is observed in most major earthquakes. The damage mainly occurs in reinforced concrete slabs, e.g. building floors and bridge decks. This study presents the results from pounding of reinforced concrete slabs. A parametric investigation was conducted involving the mass of the pendulums, the relative velocities of impact and the geometry of the contact surface. The effect of these parameters on the coefficient of restitution and peak impact acceleration is shown. In contrast to predictions from numerical force models, it was observed that peak acceleration is independent of mass. The coefficient of restitution is affected by the impact velocity, total participating mass and the mass ratio of striker and struck block.
It is well-known that the most interesting non-integrable almost Hermitian manifold are the nearly Kaehlerian manifolds ([2] and [3]), and that there exists a complex but not a Kaehlerian structure on Riemannian product manifolds of two normal contact manifolds [4]. The purpose of the present paper is to study nearly Kaehlerian product manifolds of two almost contact metric manifolds and investigate the geometrical structures of these manifolds. Unless otherwise stated, we shall always assume that manifolds and quantities are differentiable of class $C^{\infty}$. In Paragraph 1, we give brief discussions of almost contact metric manifolds and their Riemannian product manifolds. In paragraph 2, we investigate the perfect conditions for Riemannian product manifolds of two almost contact metric manifolds to be nearly Kaehlerian and the non-existence of a nearly Kaehlerian product manifold of contact metric manifolds. Paragraph 3 will be devoted to a proof of the following; A conformally flat compact nearly Kaehlerian product manifold of two almost contact metric manifolds is isomatric to a Riemannian product manifold of a complex projective space and a flat Kaehlerian manifold..
Machine tool design concepts have evolved towards high efficiency, accurate precision. high structural integrity, and multi-functional systems. Like many other structures, machine tools are also composed of many parts. When these parts are assembled, many kinds of joints are used. In the finite element analysis of these assembled structures, most joints are commonly considered as rigid joints. But, to get the more accurate solution, we need to model these joints in a appropriate manner. In this study, rational dynamic modeling and analysis method for complex structures are studied with special attention to slide way joints. For modeling of slide way joints, a general modeling technique is used by influence coefficients method which is applied to the conversion of detailed finite element model to the equivalent reduced joint model. The theoretical part of this method is illustrated and the method is applied to the structure with slide way joint. In this method. the non-linearity of the contact surfaces is considered within a proper range and the boundary effect of the joint model can be eliminated. The proposed method was applied to finite element modal analysis of a clamp jointed cantilever beam and slide way joints of the vertical type lathe. The method can also be used to other kinds of joint modeling. The results of these analysis were compared with those of Yoshimura models and rigid joint models. which demonstrated the practical applicability of the proposed method.
This study develops a new device system for measuring a slope of object with non-adhesive, non-contact and non-face-to-face, namely Inclinometer Slope Laser Measuring (ISLM), that is applicable in the field. This system includes cradle, laser, camera, and computer and the filming and is performed after laser projection at programmed intervals. After measuring the amount of displacement converted to numerical values, these values can then be transferred to the office using the selected data transmission method. The obtained results from the test carried out to verify the reliability of the ISLM system indicated that the ISLM system can measure with accurately level of 0.1mm/Pixel at 1m distance and when increasing the camera resolution, the precision might increase proportionally. Therefore, the proposed measure system may widely apply on-site for various constructions, especially, in the case of object with very high surface temperature where exhibits difficulty to directly measure the adjacent structures. However, due to the sensitive reaction to the illuminance, this method can be applied with caution at times of large changes in illuminance, such as at dawn and at dusk.
Purpose: This study evaluated the prevalence of dental implant positioning errors and the most frequently affected oral regions. Materials and Methods: A sample was obtained of CBCT images of 590 dental implants from 230 individuals who underwent diagnosis at a radiology center using cone-beam computed tomography from 2017 to 2020. The following variables were considered: thread exposure, violation of the minimum distance between 2 adjacent implants and between the implant and tooth, and implant contact with anatomical structures. Descriptive data analysis and the Pearson chi-square test(P<0.05) were performed to compare findings according to mouth regions. Results: Most (74.4%) of the 590 implants were poorly positioned, with the posterior region of the maxilla being the region most frequently affected by errors. Among the variables analyzed, the most prevalent was thread exposure (54.7%), followed by implant contact with anatomical structures, violation of the recommended distance between 2 implants and violation of the recommended distance between the implant and teeth. Thread exposure was significantly associated with the anterior region of the mandible (P<0.05). The anterior region of the maxilla was associated with violation of the recommended tooth-implant distance (P<0.05) and the recommended distance between 2 adjacent implants(P<0.05). Implant contact with anatomical structures was significantly more likely to occur in the posterior region of the maxilla (P<0.05). Conclusion: Many implants were poorly positioned in the posterior region of the maxilla. Thread exposure was particularly frequent and was significantly associated with the anterior region of the mandible.
