소비자 만족$\cdot$불만족의 개념에 관한 이론적 연구 (Conceptual perspectives on consumer satisfaction/dissatisfaction)

  • Consumer satisfaction/dissatisfaction is a concept which is receiving increased attention from consumers, public policy makers, and marketers alike. The literature in this field is still meager, has been growing rapidly byt with diversity of direction. The purpose of this study is to review the conceptualization and taxonomy of CS/D in consumer research. Three types of the basic process in a general theory of CS/D are suggested; system CS/D, enterprise CS/D and product-service CS/D. It is also classified into macro marketing system CS/D, micro marketing system CS/D and consuming mix CS/D. The conceptualization of CS/D begins with a basic model of how CS/D results from the individual product purchase experience of individual consumer. Basic CS/D models are classified into process model which contains experience, information search, prepurchase evaluation and comparison process variables and psychological model which is derived from cognitive dissonance theory. Theoretical and empirical foundations about expectation model are asimilatin, contrast, generalized negativity and assimilation contrast theories.

  • To have a complete and comprehensive understanding of the research subject and to form an integrated legal framework for it, I have sought comprehensively to cover the major written literature on the issue under consideration. I also benefitted from a wide range of research and academic studies pertaining to the same topic, although that literature did not specifically address the issue of consumer rights in electronic contracting in the Saudi e-commerce system. Rather, it addressed only the civil and criminal protection of the consumer in e-commerce. I have divided the reviewed literature into two sections according to the sources.

상황적 소비자 적대감이 소비자 태도 및 행동에 미치는 영향-문화 내재화의 조절효과를 중심으로 (The Effect of Situational Consumer Animosity on Consumer Attitudes and Behavior-Focused on the Moderating Effect of Cultural Internalization)

  • This study tried to verify the effect of situational consumer animosity on consumer attitudes and behaviors with the moderating effect of cultural internalization. For this purpose, 460 valid survey data were collected from Koreans. The causal and regulatory relationships between the variables were analyzed through confirmatory factor analysis and structural model analysis using AMOS with the collected data. It was confirmed that the national situational animosity had a negative effect on quality evaluation, while personal situational animosity did not. Also, the positive relationship between quality evaluation and purchase intention was confirmed. In addition, it was found that internalization of individual culture moderates the effect of quality evaluation on purchase intention.

온라인 구전의 정보방향과 평가내용이 구전효과에 미치는 영향 - 대학생의 휴대폰 구매 관련 온라인 구전을 중심으로 - (The Influences of Internet WOM(word Of Mouth) Information Valence and Contents to WOM Effects - Focus on Cell Phon Purchasing for Student via Online WOM -)

  • The present paper aims to examine the Influences of on line word of mouth(WOM) information valence and information contents to the information searcher. Specially, to examine the interaction effect it's two variables. For that purpose, we categorize WOM information valence into two subcategories; positive and negative, and WOM content into two subcategories; objective evaluation and subjective evaluation. We conducted experimentation design 2*2 and subjects are asked to their attitude and purchase intention after they are exposed each of four different types of WOM information. The result can be summarized as follow; First, the negative WOM has stronger effect on consumer's attitude and purchase intention than positive. Second, factual WOM has stronger effect on consumer's attitude and purchase intention than subject. Finally, when consumer face negative WOM, subjective WOM has more effect on consumer's attitude and purchase intention than factual. On the contrary, when consumer face positive WOM, factual WOM has more effect on consumer's attitude and purchase intention than subject. In conclusion, the korean Foreign Trade Act and other relative acts should be revised, and both educational services and health services should be contained within the definition of "the international trade" for the governmental benefits of supporting the services exportation.

평점이 수렴되지 않는 리뷰의 제품들이 더 좋을 수도 있을까?: 제품 리뷰평점의 분산과 소비자의 조절초점 성향에 따른 소비자 태도 변화 (Could a Product with Diverged Reviews Ratings Be Better?: The Change of Consumer Attitude Depending on the Converged vs. Diverged Review Ratings and Consumer's Regulatory Focus)

  • 팬데믹(Pandemic)으로 인해 온라인 시장의 규모가 급속하게 커졌다. 일상에서의 비대면화는그동안 기술수용에 늦은 소비자마저 온라인구매의 편리함을 경험하게 하는 계기가 되었고, 이들은 팬데믹 이후에도 온라인구매의 이점을 선호하게 될 것이다. 하지만 이러한 변화의 시기에 소비자가 취할 수 있는 제품 정보는 편평한 디스플레이상의 시각적 정보만으로 축소되었다. 회사들은 차별적이고 경쟁력 있는 정보를 제공하기 위해 AR/VR, Streaming 기술 등을 도입하고 있지만, 정직한 사용자들이 남긴 리뷰는 회사가 제공하는 잘 가공된 정보만큼 소비자에게 강력하게 인식되고, 회사의 상품개발과 마케팅 및 판매 전략을 위한 인사이트를 얻을 수 있다는 점에서 중요하게 인식될 필요가 있다. 그렇다면 소비자의 입장에서, 구매 의사결정 전에 참고하는 리뷰의 평점이 크게 어긋난다면, 소비자들은 어떻게 리뷰정보를 처리할까? 수렴되지 않은 평점은 늘 신뢰할 수 없고 가치 없는 것일까? 본 연구에서는 소비자의 개인 성향으로 볼 수 있는 조절초점 성향이 어떻게 사고방식을 지배하여 수렴되지 않은 정보를 수용하고 처리하는지 보이고자 하였다. 실험은 화장품을 대상으로 제품 리뷰 평점의 분산(높음 vs 낮음)이 소비자의 조절초점(예방초점 vs. 향상초점)에 따라 제품 태도에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 2x2 연구로 설계하였다. 연구결과, 예방초점의 소비자는 분산이 작을 때 높은 제품 태도를 보이지만, 향상초점의 소비자는 분산이 클 때 높은 제품 태도를 보인다는 것을 발견하였다. 이와 같은 연구로, 본 논문은 동일한 평균값의 평가점수를 가진 제품이라도 후기의 분산 값에 따라 소비자의 조절초점 성향이 영향을 미쳐 제품 태도가 달라진다는 것을 설명할 수 있다. 본 논문은 평점이 수렴되지 않는 정보에 대한 소비자의 정보처리의 메커니즘을 밝힌 이론적 공헌이 있으며, 실무적으로 기업은 리뷰가 축적됨에 따라 개인화되고 최적화된 상품 정보를 제공하는 등 빅데이터를 바탕으로 지식경영을 응용한 고객경험설계가 가능함을 시사한다.

Effect of information direction and order of product review posts on consumer responses: The case of cosmetics power bloggers

  • This study explores the effect of information direction and order of cosmetics power bloggers on consumer responses. A total of 488 undergraduate students participated in experiments with mock-up stimuli of sunscreen product reviews by power bloggers. The study was conducted with four stimuli of product review posts (i.e., positive reviews only, positive-negative reviews in order, negative-positive reviews in order, negative reviews only) of the power bloggers. The results showed a significant difference in consumer responses according to information direction and order of product reviews of the power bloggers. Specifically, negative reviews were considered more objective and more useful than positive reviews were. However, positivity of reviews is crucial in generating more positive attitudes toward products, greater purchase intention, and greater word-of-mouth intention. In regard to information order, the negative-positive reviews generated more positive attitudes toward the product and greater purchase intention than did the positive-negative reviews, emphasizing the importance of ending product reviews with positive information so as to create positive responses. Referring to the findings, power bloggers and marketers using bloggers as a promotional tool would benefit by carefully designing information content in consideration of an appropriate direction and order of information to better fit their purpose.

체계적인 식품 위해 정보 수집.공유 체계 구축 방안 (Strategies for Establishing of the Systemic Collecting and Sharing of Food Risk Information)

  • Food safety has been a growing consumer concern over the last few decades, and remains a priority for consumers, the food industry, and regulatory agencies alike. Although consumer concern for food safety has increased, consumer confidence has decreased. The emphasis on food safety is related to that of preliminary risk management. The ability to collect and provide food risk information is a key element in enhancing the way food safety authorities protect consumers from risk. This review aims to investigate the current situations of international organizations, as well as several countries' systems for collecting and providing food risk information. Through the comparison and analysis of each system, this review proposes strategies to establish a systematic collecting of information and provision of infrastructure in Korea. To develop an information collection system suited to Korea's situation, it is necessary for Korea to strengthen interactions and cooperation with other trade partners through the enlargement of international networks. Such efforts on food risk communication should be made by providing high quality and clear information.

소비자보호를 위한 한국 원산지표시제도의 문제점과 개선방안 (Issues and Improvements on the Country of Origin Labeling System for Consumer Protection in Korea)

  • The purpose of this study is to review domestic and foreign origin labeling system in order to implement origin labeling system in the perspective of protecting the interests of consumers, and to suggest governmental improvements by analyzing problems embedded in current labeling system. The results analysis show complexity of related legal system, lack of expertise at the stage of labeling, and inefficiency of crackdown authority. The improvement could be suggested in two ways: supporting plans for the ones who have duty of labeling and improvement plans in origin management system. As supporting plans, we suggest the need for an automatic origin determination system, appropriate education on origin stakeholders, and introduction of origin certification system. For improvement plans, there are unification of country of origin labeling related laws, utilization of FTA product specific rules, and QR code, expert confirmation system. Since the origin labeling issue has become important, proactive and quick responses must follow with thorough examination the effect of the origin labeling on consumer welfare.

소비자의 기업평가에 있어서 기업과 소비자의 사회적 책임활동의 상호작용효과 (The Interaction Effect of Social Responsibility Activities of Consumers and Corporations on Corporate Evaluation)

  • Business firms and consumers exist within a society, and their activities influence a society, because they are not separated from a society. Thus, consumers as well as business firms have been asked to conduct socially responsible actions (i.e., environmentally friendly production and socially friendly activities). Previous researchers have investigated on the relationship between corporate social responsibilities and business performances. For example, researchers have analyzed the effects of corporate social responsibility on consumer's corporate evaluations. The corporate social responsibility is commonly classified into the three dimensions (economic, social, and environmental responsibility). In this paper, we demonstrated that the consumer social responsibility can also be classified into the three dimensions. Previous researchers have shown that the three dimensions of corporate social responsibility influence consumer's corporate evaluation. However, they have not considered the interaction effect of the corporate social responsibility and the consumer social responsibility on consumers' corporate evaluation. Different from the past studies, this study investigated on the interaction effect of consumer social responsibility (economic, social, environmental responsibility) and corporate social responsibility (economic, social, environmental responsibility) on consumer's corporate evaluation. For the study, we collected survey data of 200 consumers and analyzed the interaction effect with ANOVAs. The result showed that the three dimensions of social responsibility to both corporate and consumers influence positively the corporate evaluation. They also showed that the interaction effect of consumer responsibility and corporate responsibility on the corporate evaluation was statistically significant. This implies that it is necessary for corporate to conduct corporate social responsibility differently depending on consumer's activity for consumer social responsibility.

Too Much Information - Trying to Help or Deceive? An Analysis of Yelp Reviews

  • The proliferation of online customer reviews has completely changed how consumers purchase. Consumers now heavily depend on authentic experiences shared by previous customers. However, deceptive reviews that aim to manipulate customer decision-making to promote or defame a product or service pose a risk to businesses and buyers. The studies investigating consumer perception of deceptive reviews found that one of the important cues is based on review content. This study aims to investigate the impact of the information amount of review on the review truthfulness. This study adopted the Information Manipulation Theory (IMT) as an overarching theory, which asserts that the violations of one or more of the Gricean maxim are deceptive behaviors. It is regarded as a quantity violation if the required information amount is not delivered or more information is delivered; that is an attempt at deception. A topic modeling algorithm is implemented to reveal the distribution of each topic embedded in a text. This study measures information amount as topic diversity based on the results of topic modeling, and topic diversity shows how heterogeneous a text review is. Two datasets of restaurant reviews on Yelp.com, which have Filtered (deceptive) and Unfiltered (genuine) reviews, were used to test the hypotheses. Reviews that contain more diverse topics tend to be truthful. However, excessive topic diversity produces an inverted U-shaped relationship with truthfulness. Moreover, we find an interaction effect between topic diversity and reviews' ratings. This result suggests that the impact of topic diversity is strengthened when deceptive reviews have lower ratings. This study contributes to the existing literature on IMT by building the connection between topic diversity in a review and its truthfulness. In addition, the empirical results show that topic diversity is a reliable measure for gauging information amount of reviews.
