Because the flat dilatometer (DMT) is operated in appropriate strain level, it has been known as an adoptable in-situ tool to evaluate the compressibility of soils compare with other in-situ test tools, such as SPT and CPT. This study is concerned about prediction method of constrained modulus by DMT, and a series of DMT and consolidation tests are performed at Busan new-port, Yangsan and Noksan test sites. By comparing DMT results with lab tests, the suitability of constrained modulus correlation, which is suggested by Marchetti, is investigated in Busan clay and new correlation is suggested. In lab test result, the compression indices ($C_c$) of Busan clay are turned out to be 0.4~0.12, and the constrained moduli are found out 0.5MPa~3MPa and these are increase with depth. The predicted constrained moduli using Marchetti's correlation are turned out 0.5MPa~4MPa, and these are bigger than measured constrained moduli by lab tests. By analyzing lab test and DMT results, it is shown that the correlation coefficient ($R_M=M/E_D$) has a linear relationship with (1/$I_D$) in Busan.

The purpose of this study is to present our elderly welfare policy and welfare facilities for the elderly and to propose the future direction of policy for the elderly with comparison to that of Japan. The comparative study results of Korea and Japan are as follows: As the basis of elderly welfare, care insurance for the elderly is now fixated in the two countries. On the other hand, for quantitative expansion in Korea, the quality level has been gone down. Due to qualitative evaluation, the growth of facilities has slowed and material welfare providers was also a decline in the number of operators. Two countries in the field of community welfare in recent years has been actively promoting. It is the most important to solve the social welfare problem with local councils who know the area, which is a part of the future to focus and to support. Due to huge construction investment of facility, there is the burden of operators. This facility is appropriate for an extension of the home. However, it is in the hard economic times. Until now, the number of people in a room is at least four according to the legal standard of Korea, there are a few private rooms. On the other hand, in Japan, unit-care was phased since 2002 and private rooms have been expanded. In Japan, health center for the elderly plays an important role with special elderly nursing home among facilities for the elderly. Health center provides services that are recovering, nursing, and caring to support independence for the elderly after acute phase of treatment. As treatment and care, the aim of health center is to return the elderly to home. On the other hand, there are a few health centers for returning the elderly to home in Korea. Furthermore, in Japan, a project for preventive care has been begun. The project is needed in Korea.

Existing research for store has been localized in that of Seoul area, and research for the Japanese style store built under the rule of Japanese Imperialism has not been done properly owing to national sentiment. This research established Naju that inland pillage is available along Yeongsan River after opening of Mokpo harbor. I will compare modernization developmental process of building of Korean style store with that of Japanese Style store, so obviously try to make clear the activities of modernization by linking social and economical change with Joseon merchants' life. I will try to light up the position of korean style store in Naju area in history of architecture by analyzing two styles of stores into urban architectural element, putting process of change in order and translating it according to flow of age. The development process of Korean restaurant stores and that of Japanese counterparts are rather relative. Whereas Japanese accumulated wealth through oppression and exploitation of the people of Joseon the former dynasty of present day Korea, the people of Joseon could not but be oppressed and depressed. On the other hand, while the dynamic liberation movements of Joseon merchants managed to develop based on the vitality that was growing ever more, Japanese chose to back down to some degree by exercising appeasing policy. The efforts to take initiative by shattering off the submissive attitude can be found from the ability fostering movement, Gwangju students campaign and new construction or remodeling of hanok the traditional Korean house as commercial building in the 1920s. The changing phase of the people breaking away from subjugated relation to subjective attitude can be found in the commercial districts.
We analyzed crown development in Aucuba japonica Thunb. var. japonica resulting from the responses of phytoelements to habitat light conditions over a long period of time. Over the years, the degree of extension unit (EU) dimorphism and the degree of anisophylly were higher under shaded conditions than in brighter conditions. An overall temporally increasing pattern in the degree of EU dimorphism was found while no clear-cut trend was found in the case of anisophylly. EU length and number of leaves per EU co-varied in a spatio-temporal context. The number of terminal buds and their sizes acted as the key initiators of morphological differences of phytoelements which were further amplified following bud break. Leaf area density was displayed mostly in the apex peripheral layer of the crown and the apex layer received most of the incident light. There was a tradeoff between annual leaf production and mean leaf size. Depending on the heterogeneity of irradiance level within a crown, correlative growth inhibition caused higher EU mortality at brighter sites. Due to high mortality, shorter EUs had a mere role in the construction of structural framework of the crown except for the formation of some gaps. There was a strong convergence of EU dimorphism, anisophylly, EU extension growth and variations in leaf size towards formation of functional crown to reduce potential self-shading. Depending on the irradiance level, Aucuba japonica Thunb. var. japonica showed two different modes of crown expansion. At the brighter sites, individual crown expansion was progressive while at the darker sites, individual crown expanded in a diminishing manner and maintained a stable size. A plant's "growth diminishing phase" appeared earlier at shaded sites than brighter sites.

The real-time distributed simulation at the present age concentrates on the construction of a system development environment in order to accomplish a synthetic battlefield environment connected with Live-Virtual-Constructive simulation and to realize the Simulation Based Acquisition which supports the life cycle of weapon system. Accordingly this paper describes the development environment of the UML modeling and simulation which integrates the system analysis and design methods performed during the conceptual design phase of the reconnaissance UAV system development. An integrated framework linked with the UML simulation and X-plane visualization is suggested to efficiently perform the system analysis and design, and finally the implementation contents, the analysis of experiment results and concluding remarks are described.
In order to elucidate ultimate biological function of the genome, the model animal system carrying mutations is indispensable. Recently, large-scale mutagenesis projects have been launched in various species. Especially, the mouse is considered to be an ideal model to human because it is a mammalian species accompanied with well-established genetic as well as embryonic technologies. In 1990', large-scale mouse mutagenesis projects firstly initiated with a potent chemical mutagen, N-ethyl-N-nitrosourea (ENU) by the phenotype-driven approach or forward genetics. The knockout mouse mutagenesis projects with trapping/conditional mutagenesis have then followed as Phase II since 2006 by the gene-driven approach or reverse genetics. Recently, the next-generation gene targeting system has also become available to the research community, which allows us to establish and analyze mutant mice carrying an allelic series of base substitutions in target genes as another reverse genetics. Overall trends in the large-scale mouse mutagenesis will be reviewed in this article particularly focusing on the new advancement of the next-generation gene targeting system. The drastic expansion of the mutant mouse resources altogether will enhance the systematic understanding of the life. The construction of the mutant mouse resources developed by the forward and reverse genetic mutagenesis is just the beginning of the annotation of mammalian genome. They provide basic infrastructure to understand the molecular mechanism of the gene and genome and will contribute to not only basic researches but also applied sciences such as human disease modelling, genomic medicine and personalized medicine.

A numerical model was developed to predict the density wave oscillation (DWO) in the furnace wall tubes of a fossil-fired once-through boiler. The transient flow fields in the tubes were obtained using a 1D finite volume method in the time domain. A header model was also implemented to simulate the parallel tube connection of the wall tubes. The inlet and outlet mass flow variation in one of the parallel tubes was examined after a heat perturbation to find the DWO. After successful verification with experimental results reported in literature, the developed model was applied to the wall tubes of a 700-MW boiler furnace. In contrast to the simulation of Takitani's experiment, in which the unstable power thresholds tended to rise in the reduced bypass channel flow, no remarkable changes were observed in the power thresholds in the parallel channel modeling of the wall tubes of the boiler furnace.
The given research focuses on examining the effect of relatively humidity (RH) and curing temperature on the hydrates as well as the porosity of calcium sulfoaluminate (CSA) cement pastes. Numerous tests, which consist of mercury intrusion porosimetry (MIP), thermosgravi metric (TG) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) were conducted. Various characterization techniques which include, scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform microscopy along with X-ray diffraction evaluations were conducted on the samples to examine phase formation and crystallinity, morphology and microstructure along with bond formations and functional groups, respectively. During long-term study, the performance of concrete which consisted of limestone and flash-calcined was close to those from standard Portland cement concrete. Traditional classifications and methods of corrosion were widely used for the assessment of steel in concrete which may get employed to concrete which contains LC3 to recalibrate the range of polarization resistance for passitivity condition. For example, there is up to 79.5% and 146% respective flexural and compressive strengths. Moreover, they developed more advance electrical and thermo-mechanical performance with a substantial reduction in absorption of water of close to 400%. These advantages allow this research crucial to evaluate how these methods can be applied. Additionally, the research evaluates developed and more advanced cement preservation and repair techniques. The conclusion suggests concerted efforts by various stakeholders such as policy makers to enable low-carbon rates.

The cables installed to deliver high electric power from a generator at a thermoelectric power station are XLPE (or CV) cables. Depending on the installation and usage conditions, the cables in operation start deteriorating from the time of initial operation. Some cables can cause accidents due to faulty construction or other environmental factors. In order to prevent cable accidents, regular auditing of power cables is required. We have invented a measuring device for systematic surveillance and prevention of accidents, and installed the device at Korean Western Power Co. Ltd. which measures load currents through the cables. In this paper, we present the load current measured using our device, analyze the load characteristics by measures current, compare the ampacity defined by IEC standard, and present a basic data to obtain the temperature of cable conductors.
