Estimating the reasonable construction-cost according to the construction phase in public construction is an important element for securing and executing a national budget efficiently. As a general rule, the predetermined cost of construction is estimated at the end of the design of the target structure. Therefore, it seems to be a considerably difficult problem to estimate the approximate cost of construction, only with its basic information of the bridge in the design planning phase and the early design stage where we can not have specific detailed-section of the target structure. In this paper, we present the calculation of construction-cost in the planning phase based on the analysis of factors affecting the cost of construction conducted in the previous study. Beside, to estimate the cost of construction in early design phase, we would like to present the calculation of construction-cost in the early design phase by executing the analysis of data collected from 61 steel box bridges. It was found from the result of study that the estimated cost of construction gained by the calculation of construction-cost in this paper reduces the error between the real cost of construction and that by the existing method of using.

The duty of construction clients in WSH (Workplace Safety and Health) system was included in the amendment of Occupational Safety and Health Act (enforced on 16 January 2020), which was estimated the shift of paradigm in the prevention of construction accidents. The purpose of this paper is to introduce the analysis results of construction clients' role in the construction project, which were performed by authors over the recent years in order to impose the duty on construction clients, and to suggest their role according the plan, design, and construction stage. Utilizing the systematic literature review process based on Meta analysis, the related papers were selected. For the selected papers, related domestic and foreign regulations, and other prominent report, the construction clients' role was analyzed by reflecting the experts' advice. Results show that the construction clients should control the designer and contractor for implementing the WHS system during the whole process of the construction project. They should supply sufficient source and time to ensure the workers' safety. In the plan stage, the key role of construction clients is to identify intensively controlled hazard and risk reduction plan and to transfer the results. In the design stage, their key role is to select the designer with the capacity in WSH and to assist the designer for the safety design. The main key role of construction clients in the costruction stage is to select the contractor with specialty in WSH including a contract reflecting the WSH requirement and to check implementation of WSH plan, WSH cost, WSH education, and accident report. In addition, it is thought that the construction clients' participations in the site WSH activity and adjustment of safety and health problem among contractors can be effect in the prevention of construction accidents.
In this paper, nonlinear static analysis of three-dimensional cable stayed bridges is performed for the time dependent materials properties such as creep, shrinkage and aging of concrete and relaxation of cable. Manavgat Cable-Stayed Bridge is selected as an application. The bridge located in Antalya, Turkey, was constructed with balanced cantilever construction method. Total length of the bridge is 202 m. The bridge consists of one $\ddot{e}$ shape steel tower. The tower is at the middle of the bridge span. The construction stages and 3D finite element model of bridge are modeled with SAP2000. Large displacement occurs in these types of bridges so geometric nonlinearity is taken into consideration in the analysis by using P-Delta plus large displacement criterion. The time dependent material strength and geometric variations are included in the analysis. Two different finite element analyses carried out which are evaluated with and without construction stages and results are compared with each other. As a result of these analyses, variation of internal forces such as bending moment, axial forces and shear forces for bridge tower and displacement and bending moment for bridge deck are given with detailed. It is seen that construction stage analysis has a remarkable effect on the structural behavior of the bridge.
Cracks occur in mass concrete structures during construction if temperature of the
concrete due to heat of hydration is suddenly changed. The temperature is also changed
after placement of mass concrete by construction environments on structures. However,
methods which can analyze the temperature history of mass concrete considering the
construction environments have not been developed yet.
In this research, an algorithm and finite element analysis program is developed for the
analysis of temperature rise history of mass concrete considering quantitatively heat
transfer coefficient and construction environmental conditions such as climate
conditions, curing conditions, forms and form removal, and additive curing.
By comparing analysis results of the program with experimental data, other research
data, and analysis results by a finite element program ADINAT, validity and accuracy of
the program is verified.

The principal purpose of this paper is to present a novel two phases rational scenario applied in constructing an offshore monopod platform; in which the two phases are the all-ground horizontal construction phase and the post-construction phase. Concerning the all-ground construction phase, a brief investigation of its different stages, i.e., pre-fabrication, fabrication, pre-assembling, positioning, assembling, and surface finishing is introduced. The important practical aspects of such construction phase are investigated without going into the nitty-gritty of the details involved therein. Concerning the post-construction phase, a clear investigation of its sequential stages, i.e., lifting, moving and up-righting is introduced. A finite element model (FEM) of the monopod platform is created to perform the structural analysis necessary to decide the suspension points/devices and the handling scenario during the various stages of the post-construction phase on a rational wise. Such structural analysis is performed within the framework of the three dimensional quasi-static modeling and analysis aiming at simulating the realistic handling condition, and hence introducing a reliable physical interpretation of the numerical results. For the whole effort to be demonstrated efficiently, the results obtained are analyzed, the conclusions are presented, and few related recommendations are suggested.

As the construction industry accounts for 28.5% of industrial accidents in Korea and 29.6% of industrial accident deaths in 2017, it is necessary to search for a priority disaster reduction scheme for the construction industry in order to reduce the industrial accident rate. Therefore, this research suggested improvement direction for construction accidents reduction based on factors affecting construction accidents occurring in the construction site by DEMATEL analysis. As a result of the analysis, the 4M factors with the highest Prominence and Relation is 'Management', and the detailed analysis of the 4M factors were Personal characteristics of workers, Defects such as machinery and equipment, Inadequate inspection of machinery and equipment, Insufficient safety management plan, Inappropriate work orders from supervisors and field managers. The analysis results of this research can be used as a basic data for establishing direction of reduction and improvement of construction accidents.
This study analyzed the efficiency by using the DEA model to evaluate the competitiveness of specialty construction firms. The target of the analysis is 300 firms with continuous data from 2010 to 2017 as listed and externally listed firms. Significant analysis results are as follows. First, the efficiency of specialty construction firms is lower than that of general construction industry. Second, efficiency by type was highest in facilities construction and dismantling work. This shows that the relevant industries such as reinforced concrete works and scaffolding and demolition work are relatively efficient in specialty construction industry. Third, the efficiency of specialty construction industry is affected by economic fluctuations. When the construction industry is in the expansion phase, the efficiency value is high and the efficiency value is low in the down phase. Finally, in the scale profitability analysis, specialty construction industry was most analyzed by DRS. This means that it is effective to scale down for the efficiency of the firm.

After the IMF bailout, the Environment of Domestic Construction Industry had changed dramatically. Before the IMF, Domestic Construction Firms are secured by the government regulations and some traditional practices. However, due to the following reasons: a decrease in public works, an increase in uncertainty of market prediction, the change of bid system, and increase in construction firms, recently the competition among construction firms has became keen. Under the serious competition, in order that medium-size construction firms survive in the construction market, it is need to establish the strategy that could increase productivity. In order to establish the strategy, firstly, construction firms should set up an appraisal standard of construction firms. Consequently, This study will introduce companies' objective appraisal in domestic construction market as well as basal data for setting-up strategy through adaptation industry structure analysis of business administration for strategic group analysis and a company which has lagged behind competitive power among the competitive companies can choose a target strategic group which should be pursued it in the future through being classified according to a group taken analogical strategy.

In rapid cycle construction, RC structure which is not cured fully can be loaded with construction load and this construction load can influence on the safety of construction and cracks on slabs. Therefore, to reduce the term of construction, the safety of construction and prevention of cracks should be assured against construction load. In the previous study, temperature load can significantly influence on the behavior of structure under construction. However, existing construction sequential analysis or design code do not consider temperature load reasonably. In the present study, through construction sequential analysis method using FE analysis, the behavior of structure under construction was analyzed according to temperature changes. According to the results of analysis, as the temperature falls, shoring load drops and the temperature rises, shoring load rises. These variations of shoring load can affect the safety of construction. Moment of slab goes up by fall in temperature. This increase of moment can cause cracks on the slab. Therefore to assure the safety on construction and prevent cracks on slabs, temperature load has to be considered reasonably in construction sequential analysis.

The attention in construction Automation is getting higher since it could be the answer to the lack of skilled labor by decrease in construction population and aging which adversely affects productivity and quality in the construction site. We are on the way to develop a construction automation system adequate for domestic circumstances in Korea; it is called RCA(Robotic-crane based Construction Automation)system. Climbing hydraulic robots system is a part of RCA system and makes Construction factory(CF) climb through the guide rail on the core wall. The safety of climbing hydraulic robots system is at issue due to the overloaded weight of CF. Preventing this issue, present study did the design verification through the structural analysis and the simulation. Mock-up test also was done to analyze the drive performance of climbing hydraulic robots system.
