SB41 material is welded automatically and is investigated some effects of the welding residual stress in the growth and propagation of fatigue crack, so as to study the fatigue behaviour in the welding residual stress field. The summarized results are as follows; 1) In case of the load amplitude is constant, as the stress ratio is changing to 0.1, 0.33 and 0.5 the propagation life is constant but the growth life decreases. And than, when maximum load or minimum load is constant as the stress ratio increases the growth life and propagation life. 2) It was shown that fatigue crack propagation ratio da/dN was almost constant regardless of the stress ratio change at constant load amplitude and that the larger stress ratio, the slower was the fatigue crack propagation ratio. 3) The opening ratio U is influenced by $K_max$ but it isn't only the function of $K_max$ because data range is very large. 4) The fatigue life of the specimens on tensile compressive residual stress field was decreased and increased respectably more than that of the base metal.

It is shown that the power flow considering the voltage characteristic of the composite load has some difference comparing with conventional load flow in this paper. When the load flow is used in a study of the static voltage stability, it is necessary to consider the voltage characteristic of load, since the composite load of a typical power system bas constant power, constant current, and constant impedance characteristic. The load is modeled to a polynomial form in here, and used in solving the load flow problem. In this way, the effect which the voltage characteristic of the load has on several voltage collapse proximity indicator based on sensitivities is compared with the conventional load flow, or with another load model having a different voltage characteristic. In this paper, the voltage collapse proximity indicator using the sensitivity of real power for transmission loss is also proposed, and compared with other indicators.
Crack closure and growth behavior of physically short fatigue cracks under random loading are Investigated by performing narrow- and wide-band random loading tests for various stress ratios. Artificially prepared two-dimensional, short through-thickness cracks are used. The closure behavior of short cracks under random loading is discussed, comparing with that of short cracks under constant-amplitude loading and also that of long cracks under random loading. Irrespective of random loading spectrum or block length, the crack opening load of short cracks is much lower under random loading than under constant-amplitude loading corresponding to the largest load cycle in a random load history, contrary to the behavior of long cracks that the crack opening load under random loading is nearly the same as or slightly higher than constant-amplitude results. This result indicates that the largest load cycle in a random load history has an effect to enhance crack opening of short cracks.
Numerical methods are developed for solving the elastica and buckling load of cantilever column with constant volume, subjected to a compressive end load. The linear, parabolic and sinusoidal tapers with the regular polygon cross-sections are considered, whose material volume and span length are always held constant. The differential equations governing the elastica of buckled column are derived. The Runge-Kutta method is used to integrate the differential equations, and the Regula-Falsi method is used to determine the horizontal deflection at free end and the buckling load, respectively. The numerical methods developed herein for computing the elastica and the buckling loads of the columns are found to be efficient and reliable.
The objective of this study is to compare age-related differences of 15 characteristic variables estimated from SEMG signals, which were obtained from the old group(62 subjects) and young group(72 subjects). The SEMG signals were recorded from biceps brachii muscle under sustained isometric elbow flexion contraction with constant load(4kg dumbbell) during 30 seconds. Ten time domain (ARV, RMS, MSA, MTA, ZC, MSF, MTF, MSD, MTD, MSS) and five frequency domain(MNF, MDF, $f_{max}$, $P_{max}$, $P_{to}$) variables were extracted from the SEMG signals and then statistically analyzed, respectively. The findings of the analysis indicate significant age-related differences in the SEMG signal during constant load contraction.
The spring constant of a micro coil spring was measured by uniaxial tensile test. The inner diameter of it is $35{\mu}m$ and the pitch size is about $23{\mu}m$. A suing constant measurement system was developed. It consists of control units, load cell units, linear stages and several specially designed jigs and fixtures. Load and displacement are measured using a commercial load cell of 1000g capacity and a magnetic scale of $0.5{\mu}m$ resolution. In this study, a method to measure the spring constant of micro coil spring is presented and the relationship between misalignment of specimen and measurement error is discussed.
In the paper we study dynamic response of a finite, simply supported Timoshenko beam subject to a moving continuously distributed forces. Three problems have been considered. The dynamic response of the Timoshenko beam under a uniform distributed load moving with a constant velocity v has been considered as the first problem. Obtained solutions allow to find the response of the beam under the interval of the finite length a uniformly distributed moving load. Part of the solutions are presented in a closed form instead of an infinite series. As the second problem the steady-state vibrations of the beam under uniformly distributed mass $m_1$ moving with the constant velocity has been considered. The vibrations of the beam caused by the interval of the finite length randomly distributed load moving with constant velocity is considered as the last problem. It is assumed that load process is space-time stationary stochastic process.
An active resonance damper for a DC Distributed Power System(DPS) with parallel loads is presented. Each pulse power load in a DC DPS comprises both a resistive power load and a step-up converter. The step-up converter behave as constant power load(CPL) when tightly regulated and usually cause a negative impedance instability problem. Furthermore, when an input filter is connected to a large constant power load, the instability of DC bus voltage. In this paper, a bidirectional DC/DC converter with a reduced storage capacitor quantitatively are proposed as a active resonance damper, to mitigate the voltage instability on the bus. The validity of the proposed method was confirmed by simulation and experimental works.
In structures excavated in rock mass, load progressively increases to a level and remains constant during the construction. Rocks display different elastic properties such as Ei and ʋ under different loading conditions and this requires to use the true values of elastic properties for the design of safe structures in rock. Also, rocks will undergo horizontal and vertical deformations depending on the amount of load applied. However, under constant loads, values of Ei and ʋ will vary in time and induce variations in the behavior of the rock mass. In some empirical equations in which deformation modulus of the rock mass is taken into consideration, elastic parameters of intact rock become functions in the equation. Hence, the use of time dependent elastic properties determined under constant loading will yield more reliable results than when only constant elastic properties are used. As well known, rock material will play an important role in the deformation mechanism since the discontinuities will be closed due to the load. In this study, Ei and ʋ values of intact rocks were investigated under different constant loads for certain rocks with high deformation capabilities. The results indicated significant time dependent variations in elastic properties under constant loading conditions. Ei value obtained from deformability test was found to be higher than the Ei value obtained from the constant loading test. This implies that when static values of elastic properties are used, the material is defined as more elastic than the rock material itself. In fact, Ei and ʋ values embedded in empirical equations are not static. Hence, this workattempts to emerge a new understanding in designing of safer structures in rock mass by numerical methods. The use of time-dependent values of Ei and ʋ under different constant loads will yield more accurate results in numerical modeling analysis.
