Background: Workflow interruptions during surgery may cause a threat to patient's safety. Workflow interruptions were tested to predict failure in action regulation that in turn predicts near-accidents in surgery and related health care. Methods: One-hundred-and-thirty-three theater nurses and physicians from eight Swiss hospitals participated in a cross-sectional questionnaire survey. The study participation rate was 43%. Results: Structural equation modeling confirmed an indirect path from workflow interruptions through cognitive failure in action regulation on near-accidents (p < 0.05). The indirect path was stronger for workflow interruptions by malfunctions and task organizational blockages compared with workflow interruptions that were caused by persons. The indirect path remained meaningful when individual differences in conscientiousness and compliance with safety regulations were controlled. Conclusion: Task interruptions caused by malfunction and organizational constraints are likely to trigger errors in surgery. Work redesign is recommended to reduce workflow interruptions by malfunction and regulatory constraints.
In order to increase the productivity of the logistics center and transportation, we try to articulate the priority ranking factors of the productivity influenced by the personality of the field workers (logistics center workers) and functional workers (drivers) via the AHP technique Individual personality was studied by applying the Big 5 model of psychological factors (openness, Conscientiousness, extroversion, Agreeableness, neuroticism). In this paper, extraversion was critically analyzed as a priority factor. A trait of extroversion is a strongly active and individual personality. In this study, the field workers are logistics center workers and the functional workers are drivers. They are interactively influenced in the In & Out operation. For example, when it comes to 'up and down work' and 'inspection work', the functional workers perform 'up and down work' and 'delivery work' and the field workers perform 'inspection work'. Stressing on the respective work has an affect on work productivity. Inspection workforce has something to do with inventory management. Functional workforce affects the delivery workforce. Delivery work is positively correlated with customer satisfaction. Nevertheless, as a result of research, extrovert personality that has something to do with an energetic activity would not affect on the implementation of their operation. In addition, personal extraversion of workers and drivers in the warehouse can have a significant impact on job commitment and productivity improvement.
The purpose of the current study is to examine the role of mothers' personality traits in predicting their parenting stress. The study subjects were married working woman who live at Gyeonggi-do and has their first child studying in elementary, middle, or high school. Collected data were analyzed with SPSS WIN 18.0 program. The results were as follows.: First, it has been shown through examination of the general tendency of observation subjects' relative factor, that many have above average parenting stress. The compositing factor for parenting stress were mainly the burden and distress of the parent role. Second, the differences in parenting stress were affected by relative variables in accordance with the general features of the study object. If the younger the parent, the higher the education, the lower the age of the first child, and if there were a child assistant after school, the parenting stress became larger. Third, after controlling for demographic characteristics, employed mothers' neuroticism significantly predicted greater parenting stress. When mothers had more conscientiousness and openness, they reported less parenting stress which implied that interpretation and perception of child rearing experiences can vary depending on personality and predict parenting stress of working mothers.
This study has been performed to review critical issues affecting continuous residence in profit(self-paid) assistant living facilities for the elderly in the United States. There are three factors influencing continuous residence of frail elderly in the facilities as long as they want without involuntary discharge : Financial ability, behavioral aspects, and facility management situation. Regarding financial ability, income, purchase of insurance policy, cashable assets, willingfulness to pay, and health status were found to be crucial determinants of continuous residence. Overall, 40-50% of those aged 65+ are financially able to stay in the assistant facilities as long as they want, without involuntary discharge. As for behavioral aspects, extroversions, congeniality, culture & life style, conscientiousness, preference for person, and physiological habits were found to be crucial determinants of continuous residence. As for the management situation, it is essential that facilities reach nature level of self-governing rights of the older residents and good local images, and conflicts among the residents and managing parties be resolved on the agreeable standards of inspectors. finally in this study, it is proposed that in Korea, national pension authority offer a liability package for assistant residence, for the case of individual bankruptcy.

Purpose: In this study, differences and relationship between teaching style, personality, job stress, and job satisfaction among preceptors were examined. Method: The participants were 121 preceptors. Data were collected in November and December 2010 and analyzed using descriptive statistics, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, and Pearson correlation coefficients. Results: The most frequent teaching style was judgement-initiative, and personality scores were highest for conscientiousness. Job stress was average (3.05${\pm}$.59), and job satisfaction was below the mid-point level (2.76${\pm}$.39). Job stress and job satisfaction were significantly different according to teaching style. Significant correlations were found between personality and job stress, and personality and job satisfaction. Conclusion: These findings indicate that changes in perceived teaching style, and personality may be necessary to decrease job stress, and to promote job satisfaction among preceptors. The results of this study should be considered in the development of effective preceptor training programs.
The main purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a mother's big five personality factors and playfulness on maternal parenting behavior. The participants consisted of 270 mothers with young children, aged 3-6 years old. The subjects completed questionnaires on IPIP(International Personality Item Pool), PAS(Playfulness Scale for Adults) and Parenting Behavior. The results were as follows. First, regarding the relationships of the mother'personality and parenting behavior, higher levels of neuroticism(N) in the mothers resulted in lower levels of warmth acceptance(W A) in parenting behavior. Higher levels of extroversion(E), openness(O), agreeableness(A), and conscientiousness(C) resulted in higher levels of W A. In terms of the relationships of the mother's playfulness and parenting behavior, higher levels of playfulness resulted in higher levels of W A. and lower levels of permissiveness nonintervention(P N) and rejection restriction(R R). Second, N, E, C, and a maternal sense of humor had an effect in W A. C was found to have an effect in P N and N was observed to have an effect in R R.

This study examines the relationship between tip amount and its possible antecedents: bill size, the Big Five personality types, meal type, food quality, atmosphere, service quality, consumer gender, server gender, customer hospitality experience, race, and alcohol consumption. A survey of southeastern undergraduate students was conducted to collect information about the customer, server and customer tipping habits. While the analysis suggests that service is an important factor, it shows that other factors affect tip amount. Furthermore, these factors affect tip amounts in many different ways. Some examples of these factors include bill size, alcohol consumption, gender dynamics, meal type, food quality, and personality type. The conclusion suggests the intuition behind these factors by providing a dissection of their meaning and their importance to servers, customers, and managers alike. Purpose: This study tests restaurant customer tipping habits and some personality traits that have received limited previous attention as predictors of tipping. Methods: This study is that the tip amount was self-reported, business students at a university in a large southeastern city of USA were asked to complete a tipping journal. Results: This study was able to replicate the service-tipping relationship. Moreover, this study reiterated that server friendliness is a very powerful tool to increasing tips. Conclusion: This study strongly indicate that service has a positive relationship with tip amount, and also produce a positive relationship with emotional stability and a negative relationship to conscientiousness.
Many companies have been implementing Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for their organizational transformation in order to survive and achieve strategic advantages in an increasing competitive business environment. Thus, it is meaningful to identify factors that affect ERP system operation positively. Organizational citizenship behaviors (OCB) are discretionary, extra-role behaviors of employees which go beyond the prescribed formal roles, and are known as to be the contribution factors for organization performance. The purpose of this study is to develop the measurements for the OCB constructs in ERP system context and empirically test the relationships between the OCB construct and ERP system success. The four constructs - altruism, conscientiousness and courtesy, civic virtue, and sportsmanship - and fifteen measurements on the OCB were developed based on previous studies (i.e. Organ 1988) and empirically verified by confirmatory factor analysis. The results of testing the relationships between the OCB and ERP system success show that the OCB have a significant direct impact on the information quality and intention of IT innovation while they have an indirect impact on work efficiency mediated by information quality. This study enhances the OCB model into information system arena and helps better understand the user behaviors of information systems.

Objectives: This study investigates lay beliefs about the etiology and treatments of tic disorder and Tourette's syndrome, as well as identifying sociodemographic and personality variables affecting these beliefs among South Koreans. Methods: In total, 673 participants (mean age $41.77{\pm}12.03$ years) completed an online survey regarding their beliefs about tic disorder and Tourette's syndrome. The factors related to their lay beliefs about the disorders were analyzed, and the correlates were investigated. Results: Results indicated that lay people in South Korea held strong beliefs that the causes of tic disorder and Tourette's syndrome lie within the parenting/psychological and neurological/biological categories, compared to the dietary/environmental one. Among the sociodemographic variables, sex, age, and levels of subjective mental health knowledge were primarily associated with the aforementioned beliefs. Familiarity with tic disorder and Tourette's syndrome was also associated with these beliefs. Among the personality traits investigated, extraversion and conscientiousness had significant influences on the beliefs people had about tic disorder and Tourette's syndrome. Conclusion: The results suggest that both policy makers and mental health service providers should adopt a strategic approach for developing and implementing health education interventions about tic disorder and Tourette's syndrome because individual sociodemographic variables, familiarity with the disorders, and personality traits are all associated with the beliefs about these disorders.
