The purpose of this study was to measure customers' perception of brand personality and self-image of family restaurants and compare the congruity between brand personality and customer-perceived self-image according to customers' general characteristics. Self-administered questionnaires were completed by 377 customers, and data were analyzed by frequency, chi-square, paired samples t-test, factor, reliability, cluster, and discriminant analyses. Results of the study were as follows: factor analysis of brand personality and customer-perceived self-image as 5 factors, i.e., sincerity (10 variables), excitement (8 variables), competence (7 variables), sophistication (6 variables), and ruggedness(5 variables). As a result, the averages of brand personality and self-image of family restaurants were $2.93{\pm}0.39$ and $3.24{\pm}0.52$, respectively. Cluster analysis divided subjects into two groups according to congruity between brand personality and customer-perceived self-image of family restaurants: congruity group and incongruity group. The two groups were differed from one another in general characteristics. Limitations and future research directions are also discussed.

Based on the self-congruity theory, this study investigated how congruity between multi-brand store image and consumers' self-image affect store attributes and consumer responses. A total of 331 questionnaires were used to analyze data. The results of research were: 1) 'Sophistication' as the congruity factor between store image and consumers' self-image affected 'utility', 'atmosphere', and 'design' among store attribute factors. Also, 'sincerity' influenced 'utility' as the store attribute factor. 2) 'Atmosphere' as the store attribute factor positively influenced consumers' emotional responses, and 'utility' and 'design' factors positively influenced consumers' cognitive responses. 3) Consumers' emotional responses had a positive impact on consumers' cognitive responses; in addition, consumers' emotional and cognitive responses had positive impacts on consumers' behavioral responses. 4) A-Land indicated higher scores on 'sophistication', 'atmosphere', and 'design' factors than ABC Mart. ABC Mart had shown higher scores on 'ruggedness' and 'utility' factors than A-Land. This study provides practical implications to develop effective marketing strategies to manage multi-brand stores.
Purpose - This research aimed at exploring the mediation role of Muslim's identification with halal brand in the effects of the congruity between Islamic self and halal brand and Islamism commitment on the loyalty to the brand. Research design, data, and methodology - A single factor design was employed. A total of 199 undergraduate, graduate students or office workers in Bangladesh participated in main survey to finish the questionnaire. Structural equation model analysis was used to verify hypotheses. Results - The results of verifying hypotheses were as followings. First, the Muslim's identification with halal brand positively affected on the loyalty to the halal brand. Second, Both Muslim's commitment to Islamism and the congruity between Islamic self and halal brand positively affected on the identification with the halal brand. Third, mediation analysis showed the partial mediation role of Muslim's identification with halal brand in the effects of the Islamism commitment on the loyalty to the halal brand, and there was the full mediation role of the Muslim's identification in the effect of the congruity on the loyalty. Conclusions - Marketers should build the congruity between Islamic self and their halal brand and promote Islamism commitment to induce the loyalty to the halal brand from Muslim.

Scholars and companies have made a lot of effort to increase customer loyalty to achieve long-term customer retention and sustainable profitability. The author proposes a conceptual model with the purpose of understanding the antecedent variables which have impact on customer attitudinal/behavioral loyalty. In addition, this article examines the mediating effects of perceived value between self-congruity and customer loyalty. The results show that self-congruity has significant, direct, and positive effects on perceived value and customer loyalty. Meanwhile, self-congruity indirectly affects attitudinal and behavioral loyalty, that is, the mediating effects of perceived value are significant. The author proposes the implications of these findings for practitioners and related industries.

This study investigates the impact of Hallyu human brands on consumer behavior, given the increasing influence of Hallyu human brands due to their global spread and the limited academic discussions surrounding this topic. The research examines the role of self-congruity, human brand attachment, and brand equity factors. An online survey was conducted, targeting Chinese consumers who are highly engaged with the Korean Wave. Data from 403 respondents were analyzed. The results reveal that both ideal and actual self-congruity with the Hallyu human brand significantly affected attachment to the brand, while social self-congruity was found to be insignificant. Furthermore, attachment to Hallyu human brands positively influenced brand recognition, perceived quality, brand image, and brand loyalty.

This study examines the effect of congruity between product and TV reality show on purchase intention of Chinese consumers. A total of 110 respondents from Chinese consumers were collected using online surveys. The results were analyzed by SPSS 22.0. Multiple Linear Regression and process analysis were used to test the hypotheses. This article found that congruity between product and TV reality show, attitude toward product placement and recall of product affected consumers' purchase intention. In addition, the frequency of consumer watching TV reality show and familiarity of product moderated the attitude toward product placement and recall of product. This study provides useful implications for sponsors to select product placement as one of their marketing promotion tool.

The research tool used in this study was a questionnaire. Based on the questionnaire that had secured reliability and validity in previous research, it was modified and supplemented to suit this study. The statistical analysis used for data analysis was frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS Windows 20.0 Version. First, Wushu image was found to have a partial effect on self-congruity. Second, Wushu image was found to have a partial effect on loyalty. Third, the self-congruity of Wushu participants was found to partially affect loyalty.
Live-streaming commerce business is growing as the consumption of video content and Smartphone shopping increases. This study examines the following three aspects: whether para-social interaction influences perceived interactivity; whether seller trust affects satisfaction with the experience; whether relationships are controlled by a moderated mediator of self-image congruity. An online survey was conducted with 203 women aged 20-30 years. They were asked to respond to the survey after watching a beauty category live-streaming commerce broadcast. The results revealed that the para-social interaction had a significant effect on perceived interactivity, seller trust and satisfaction with the experience. The findings also indicated that the perceived interactivity and seller trust mediated the relationship between para-social interaction and satisfaction with the experience. Regarding the mediated moderation effect of self-image congruity, it was statistically significant between para-social interaction and perceived interactivity through seller trust. A higher level of consumer's self-image congruity influenced the greater effect of para-social interaction on live commerce experience. This study makes important theoretical contributions to the para-social interaction in mobile commerce industry by emphasizing the mediating role of perceived interactivity and seller trust. This is achieved by examining the moderating effects of self-congruity on satisfaction with the experience. The results also verify the seller's crucial role in live-streaming commerce market which leads to the consumers greater fulfillment.
Purpose Self-congruity deals with the effect of symbolic value-expressive attributes on consumer decision and behavior, which is the theoretical foundation of the "non-utilitarian destination positioning". Functional congruity refers to utilitarian evaluation of a product or service by consumers. In addition, recent years, social network services, especially mobile social network services have created many opportunities for e-WOM communication that enables consumers to share personal consumption related information anywhere at any time. Moreover, self-construal is a hot and popular topic that has been discussed in the field of modem psychology as well as in marketing area. This study aims to examine the moderating effect of self-construal on the relationship between self-congruity, functional congruity and tourists' positive electronic word of mouth (e-WOM). Design/methodology/approach In order to verify the hypotheses, we developed a questionnaire with 32 survey items. We measured all the items on a five-point Likert-type scale. We used Sojump.com to collect questionnaire and gathered 218 responses from whom have visited Korea before. After a pilot test, we analyzed the main survey data by using SPSS 20.0 and AMOS 18.0, and employed structural equation modeling to test the hypotheses. We first estimated the measurement model for its overall fit, reliability and validity through a confirmatory factor analysis and used common method bias test to make sure that whether measures are affected by common-method variance. Then we tested the hypotheses through the structural model and used regression analysis to measure moderating effect of self-construal. Findings The results reveal that the effect of self-congruity on tourists' positive e-WOM is stronger for tourists with an independent self-construal compared with those with interdependent self-construal. Moreover, it shows that the effect of functional congruity on tourists' positive e-WOM becomes salient when tourists' self-construal is primed to be interdependent rather than independent. We expect that the results of this study can provide important implications for academic and practical perspective.
