Investigation of Automatic Drying Algorithm to Combi-Drum Washer of the Condensing Type (응축 방식의 건조 일체형 드럼세탁기에서의 자동 건조 알고리즘에 관한 연구)

  • The condensation water temperature $(T_{CW})$ distributions on the combi-drum washer of condensation type which the cloth washes, rinses, spins and dry cloth over a heater were measured using the thermocouples. During the drying process, in order to find out the relationship between the $T_{CW}$ distribution and the cloth dryness level $(C_{D1})$, the experiment was made for the dehydration rate of the cloth $(C_{D0})$ is 63%, the weight of cloth $(W_{C0})$ from 1 to 6kg. In result, according to $W_{C0}$ and $C_{D0}$, the distributions of $T_{CW}$ are very different. Using this tendency, it was appropriate and it developed the automatic drying algorithm and it was gotten dryness level regardless of $W_{C0}$, $C_{D0}$ and the other factor.

  • The purpose of this study is to get the formulas of condensation heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop about the water to develop design program for plate type heat exchangers. The single phase flow of cold side was calculated with the correlation of Ko. Condensation heat transfer coefficient model proposed by Annaiev was used and Lockhart model was used to analyze the pressure drop. The calculation algorithm was proposed to calculate heat transfer rate and pressure drop simultaneously. The prediction errors remained within 20% compared to the commercial code in the working range of the plate heat exchangers.

  • Detecting a moving object from videos and tracking it are basic and necessary preprocessing steps in many video systems like object recognition, context aware, and intelligent visual surveillance. In this paper, we propose a method that is able to detect a moving object quickly and accurately in a condition that background and light change in a real time. Furthermore, our system detects strongly an object in a condition that the target object is covered with other objects. For effective detection, effective Eigen-space and FCM are combined and employed, and a CONDENSATION algorithm is used to trace a detected object strongly. First, training data collected from a background image are linear-transformed using Principal Component Analysis (PCA). Second, an Eigen-background is organized from selected principal components having excellent discrimination ability on an object and a background. Next, an object is detected with FCM that uses a convolution result of the Eigen-vector of previous steps and the input image. Finally, an object is tracked by using coordinates of an detected object as an input value of condensation algorithm. Images including various moving objects in a same time are collected and used as training data to realize our system that is able to be adapted to change of light and background in a fixed camera. The result of test shows that the proposed method detects an object strongly in a condition having a change of light and a background, and partial movement of an object.

  • We investigate a visual object tracking algorithm based upon particle filters, namely CONDENSATION, in order to combine multiple observation models such as active contours of digitally subtracted image and the particle measurement of object color. The former is applied to matching the contour of the moving target and the latter is used to independently enhance the likelihood of tracking a particular color of the object. Particle filters are more efficient than any other tracking algorithms because the tracking mechanism follows Bayesian inference rule of conditional probability propagation. In the experimental results, it is demonstrated that the suggested contour tracking particle filters prove to be robust in the cluttered environment of robot vision.

  • Motion tracking and object segmentation are the most fundamental and critical problems in vision tasks suck as motion analysis. An active contour model, snake, was developed as a useful segmenting and tracking tool for rigid or non-rigid objects. Snake is designed no the basis of snake energies. Segmenting and tracking can be executed successfully by energy minimization. In this research, two new paradigms for segmentation and tracking are suggested. First, because the conventional method uses only intensity information, it is difficult to separate an object from its complex background. Therefore, a new energy and design schemes should be proposed for the better segmentation of objects. Second, conventional snake can be applied in situations where the change between images is small. If a fast moving object exists in successive images, conventional snake will not operate well because the moving object may have large differences in its position or shape, between successive images. Snakes's nodes may also fall into the local minima in their motion to the new positions of the target object in the succeeding image. For robust tracking, the condensation algorithm was adopted to control the parameters of the proposed snake model called "adaptive color snake model(SCSM)". The effectiveness of the ACSM is verified by appropriate simulations and experiments.

  • Using the residence time calculated by computer simulation for temperature and gas velocity distribution in CVC reactor, the kinetics on the formation of $TiO_2$ nano powder was analyzed for coagulation process, After abrupt increase of particle size at initial growth stage (< 0.2 $\mus$ ), the particle grew in proportion of cubic root to time. The numerically calculated particle sizes well agreed with the experimental results. However, the coarse rutile $TiO_2$ powders having the particle size of over 40 nm were formed on the surface of quratz rod in the reactor. it is thought that the fine anatase particles condensed on quratz rod were sintered in a heated CVC reactor to grow and transform to coarse rutile phase, and the critical size for phase transformation anstase-to-rutile was around 25 nm tn this study.

  • The computational model and a new eigenvalue solution algorithm for large-scale structures is presented in the form of parallel computation. The computational loads and data storages required during the solution process are drastically reduced by evenly distributing computational loads to each processor. As the parallel computational model, multiple personal computers are connected by 10Mbits per second Ethernet card. In this study substructuring techniques and static condensation method are adopted for modeling a large-scale structure. To reduce the size of an eigenvalue problem the interface degrees of freedom and one lateral degree of freedom are selected as the master degrees of freedom in each substructure. The performance of the proposed parallel algorithm is demonstrated by applying the algorithm to dynamic analysis of two-dimensional structures.

  • Particle settling behavior was studied by the computer simulation using simultaneous particle condensation and relaxation. This three-dimensional settling algorithm includes the estimation of powder sediment density. Density distribution through the powder sediment was compared and was agreed well with the experimental findings. Settling density depended strongly of the degree of particle relaxation. Sediment strength and isotropy also depended on the degree of particle relaxation. Sever particle bridging was found near sharp corners.

  • This paper presents an efficient reanalysis algorithm, named PRAS (Partial Reanalysis algorithm using Adaptable Substructuring), for the partially changed structures. The algorithm recalculates directly any displacement or member force under consideration in real time without a full reanalysis in spite of local changes in member stiffness or connectivity_ The key procedures consists of 1) partitioning the whole structure into the changed part and the unchanged part, 2) condensing the internal degrees of freedom and forming the unchanged part substructure, 3) assembling and solving the new stiffness matrix from the unchanged part substructure and the changed members.
