In order to devise a rebar usage optimization algorithm, it is necessary to calculate the exact rebar length and revise the arrangement of rebars into special lengths. However, the process of rearranging numerous rebars and manually calculating their quantities is time-consuming and requires significant human resources. To address this challenge, it is necessary to develop an algorithm that can automatically estimate the length of rebars and calculate their quantities. This study aims to create an automatic estimation algorithm that improves work efficiency while ensuring accurate and reliable calculations of rebar quantities. The algorithm considers various factors such as concrete cover, hook length, development length, and lapping length, mandated by the building codes, to calculate the quantity of rebars for wall structures. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated by comparing the rebar quantities generated by the algorithm with manually calculated quantities, resulting in a difference rate of 1.14% for the hook case and 1.37% for the U-bar case. The implementation of this method enables fast and precise estimation of rebar quantities, adhering to relevant regulatory codes.

This paper introduces a new hybrid structural connection joint that combines shear walls with section steel beams, fundamentally resolving the construction complexity issue of requiring pre-embedded connectors in the connection between shear walls and steel beams. Initially, a quasi-static loading scheme with load-deformation dual control was employed to conduct low-cycle repeated loading experiments on five new connection joints. Data was acquired using displacement and strain gauges to compare the energy dissipation coefficients of each specimen. The destruction process of the new connection joints was meticulously observed and recorded, delineating it into three stages. Hysteresis curves and skeleton curves of the joint specimens were plotted based on experimental results, summarizing the energy dissipation performance of the joints. It's noteworthy that the addition of shear walls led to an approximate 17% increase in the energy dissipation coefficient. The energy dissipation coefficients of dog-bone-shaped connection joints with shear walls and cover plates reached 2.043 and 2.059, respectively, exhibiting the most comprehensive hysteresis curves. Additionally, the impact of laminated steel plates covering composite concrete floors on the stiffness of semi-rigid joint ends under excessive stretching should not be disregarded. A comparison with finite element analysis results yielded an error of merely 2.2%, offering substantial evidence for the wide-ranging application prospects of this innovative joint in seismic performance.
Significant changes have been made to estimate the punching shear capacity for edge column-slab joints in the latest editions of most current codes. The revised equations account for axial forces as well as moments conveyed to columns from slabs, which have a substantial impact on the punching resistance of such joints. Many key design parameters, such as reinforcement-ratio, concrete strength, size-effect, and critical-section perimeter, were treated differently or even ignored in various code provisions. Consequently, wide ranges of predicted punching shear strength were detected by applying different code formulas. Therefore, it is essential to assess the various current Codes' design-equations. Because of the similarity in estimated outcomes, only the ACI, EC, and SNiP are used in this study to cover a wide range of estimation ranges from highly conservative to unconservative. This paper is devoted to analyzing the techniques in these code provisions, comparing the estimated punching resistance with available experimental data, and finally developing efficient models predicting the punching capacity of edge column-slab connections. 63 samples from past investigations were chosen for validation. To appropriately predict the punching shear, newly updated equations for ACI and SNiP are provided based on nonlinear regression analysis. The proposed equations'results match the experimental data quite well.

The recycled asphalt concrete has gotten increasing attention due to the environmental issues. The volume of reclaimed asphalt has increased significantly for last few years because of city remodeling, pavement maintenance, utility excavation, and road widening. Considering the value of reclaimed asphalt, it is rather used for the recycled asphalt concrete than it is used for fill and cover up material instead of soil. This research will be a supplements incomplete issues from existing research results and suggests the quality control guideline for recycled asphalt concrete and upcoming laws. As the first step of research, the trial construction of RAP(Recycled Asphalt Pavement) performed in expressway construction sites. These trial construction sites have been checked every years. And another construction sites studied and selected for more deeper performance check of RAP. For this checks, we used automatic pavement survey equipment and computerized analysis tools. Also, DSR(Dynamic Shear Rheometer) was used for the fatigue life calculation of binder blends(RAP and virgin binder). As a consequence of this research, the application of recycled asphalt provides good enough quality for highway construction. The preceeding literatures reviewed shows that the asphalt rejuvenator are used in many countries but that type of chemical agent are not used in Korea. By using the data of trial construction and mix design in Chongwon-Sangju construction lane, the surface and base courses consisted with the 10% and 30% rap mix asphalt section maintains good performance for up to 7 years. Through the performance check and laboratory tests(DSR), the quality control and mixture's low temperature prevention are the important factor and chemical agent necessary for increasing the fatigue life of RAP binder.

In this paper, $CO_2$ emission and storage amount are evaluated for real RC (Reinforced Concrete) underground structure considering $CO_2$ amount including material manufacturing, moving, and construction, repairing timing stage regarding extended service life. Four mix proportions with mineral admixtures are prepared and $CO_2$ diffusion coefficient are obtained based on a micro modeling. Referred to carbonation durability limit state, $CO_2$ emission and storage amount are evaluated, which shows higher initial $CO_2$ emission is caused due to larger unit content of cement and the storage increases with more rapid carbonation velocity. Furthermore various $CO_2$ concentration is adopted for simulation of $CO_2$ evaluation including measured $CO_2$ concentration (600ppm). With higher concentration of $CO_2$ outside, carbonation velocity increases. In order to reduce $CO_2$ emission through entire service life, reducing initial $CO_2$ emission through mineral admixture like fly ash is more effective than increasing $CO_2$ storage through OPC since $CO_2$ is significantly emitted under manufacturing OPC and $CO_2$ storage in cover concrete of RC structure is not effective considering initial concrete amount in construction.
The service life in RC (Reinforced Concrete) is very important and it is usually obtained through deterministic method based on Fick's 2nd law and probabilistic method. This paper presents an evaluation of $P_{df}$(durability failure probability) and the related service life considering time-dependent behaviors in chloride diffusion and surface chloride content. For the work, field investigation is performed for RC structures exposed to chloride attack for 3.5~4.5years, focusing tidal zone (6.0 m) and sea shore (9.0 m), respectively. Random variables like cover depth, chloride diffusion coefficient, and surface chloride content are obtained, and $P_{df}$ and the service life are evaluated. Unlike the results from deterministic method using LIFE 365, probabilistic method with time effects on diffusion and surface chloride shows a relatively rapid change in the result, which is a significant reductions of service life in the case with low surface chloride content. For probabilistic evaluation of durability, high surface chloride content over $10.0kg/m^3$ is required and reasonable service life can be derived with consideration of time-dependent diffusion coefficient.

In this paper, $CO_2$ amount is evaluated considering repairing timing and unit $CO_2$ amount per repair method including various stage of material manufacturing, moving, and construction. Four mix proportions with mineral admixture are considered and repairing timing/numbers are simulated based on the results from Life 365 which can handle chloride penetration. Furthermore two repair methods (simple cover concrete replacement and replacement with electro-chemical method for removing chloride content) are considered and the related $CO_2$ emissions are evaluated. From the study, the case with high W/B (water to binder ratio) ratio shows smaller $CO_2$ emission in construction stage but it increases more rapidly with increasing number of repair. $CO_2$ emission considering electro-chemical method greatly increases with the increasing unit $CO_2$ for the repairing method. The numbers of jumping step (repairing number) are evaluated to be 9 for WB37-OPC, 18 for WB50-OPC, 4 for WB40-SG, and 7 for WB47-SG respectively. RC structures with the longer maintenance free period are evaluated to be advantageous for saving $CO_2$ emission.

In this paper, the quantitative damage index for reinforced concrete (RC) columns with non-seismic details were presented. They are necessary to carry out the postearthquake safety evaluation of RC buildings under 5 stories without seismic details. The static cyclic test of the RC frame sub-assemblage that was an one span and actual-sized was first conducted. The specimen collapsed by the shear failure after flexural yielding of a column, lots of cracks on the surfaces of columns and beam-column joints and the cover concrete splitting at the bottom of columns occurred. The damage levels of these kinds of columns with non-seismic details were classified to five based on the load-displacement relationship by the test result. The residual story drift ratios and crack widths were then adapted as the quantitative index to evaluate the damage limit states because those values were comparatively easy to measure right after earthquakes. The highest one among the residual story drift ratios under the similar maximum story drift ratio decided on the residual story drift ratio of each damage limit state. On the other hand, the lowest and average ones among the respective residual shear and flexural widths under the similar maximum story drift ratio decided on the residual shear and flexural widths of each damage limit state, respectively. These values for each damage limit state resulted in being smaller than those by the international damage evaluation guidelines that are for seismically designed members under the same deformations.

This study presents experimental investigation on the residual capacity of fire-damaged voided slabs according to loading conditions. In this study, two voided slab specimens were fabricated, and heated by ISO standard fire during 120 minutes with different loading conditions of presence of loading. These specimens were cooled down to room temperature, and the residual capacity of fire-damaged voided slabs was investigated. Based on test results, thermal distribution of voided slab through the depth of concrete sections is different by the loading conditions. The temperature of loaded specimen is rapidly elevated through the whole depth of concrete sections compared to the unloaded specimen. The residual strength of fire-damaged voided slab specimens are 60% and 66% of that of voided slab specimen without fire damage, and the residual stiffness of fire-damaged voided slab specimens decreases by 15%~23% of that of voided slab specimen without fire damage. In case of voided slab specimens subjected ISO standard fire, the loaded specimen shows the decrease of 10% in the residual strength and the decrease of 15% in the residual stiffness compared to the unloaded specimen. It seems to result from higher temperature of bottom reinforcements in the loaded specimen due to the cracks, and more extensive damage on concrete cover of reinforcements by spalling process according to load level.

Urban heat islands occur due to increases in the extent of artificial surfaces such as concrete, asphalt and high-rise buildings. In this regard, research into the use of satellite thermal infrared images for thermal environment analysis of urban areas is being carried out. However, such analysis of the characteristics of individual land cover with low-resolution satellite images suffers from limitations because land cover patterns in urban areas are complicated. Recently, UAV has been widely used, which can compensate for this limitation as it is able to acquire high-resolution images. In this paper, the accuracy of UAV infrared images is verified and the applicability of UAV in urban thermal environment analysis is examined by comparing the results with land surface temperatures from Landsat 8 thermal images. The results show a high positive correlation of temperature values at 0.95, and no statistically significant difference between the two groups. Comparisons of land surface temperature according to land cover showed that the largest difference observed was $4.63^{\circ}C$ in the Used area, and UAV images with small cell units reflected various surface temperatures. Furthermore, it was possible to analyze the surface temperatures of various green spaces such as wetlands and street tree areas, which can lower surface temperatures in urban areas, with street tree shadows reducing surface temperatures by about $4-6^{\circ}C$. UAV can easily and rapidly measure the surface temperature of urban areas and is able to analyze various types of green spaces. Thus, this is an effective tool for thermal environment analysis in urban areas to aid in the design or management of urban green spaces, as it can allow for land cover and the effects of the various green spaces.
