Chromium(III) Complex Obtained from Dipicolinic Acid: Synthesis, Characterization, X-Ray Crystal Structure and Electrochemical Studies

  • The synthesis, X-ray crystallography, spectroscopic (IR, UV-vis), and electrochemical properties of the title compound, $[H_3O][Cr(dipic)_2][H_3O^+.Cl^-]$ (1), ($H_2dipic$ = 2,6-pyridinedicarboxylic acid), are reported. This complex crystallizes in the monoclinic space group Cc with a = 14.9006(10) ${\AA}$, b = 12.2114(8) ${\AA}$, c = 8.6337(6) ${\AA}$, ${\alpha}=90.00^{\circ}$, ${\beta}=92.7460(10)^{\circ}$, ${\gamma}=90.00^{\circ}$, and V = 1569.16(18) ${\AA}^3$ with Z = 4. The hydrogen bonding and noncovalent interactions play roles in the stabilization of the structure. In order to gain a better understanding of the most important geometrical parameters in the structure of the complex, atoms in molecules (AIM) method at B3LYP/6-31G level of theory has been employed.

RK-270D and E, Oxindole Derivatives from Streptomyces sp. with Anti-Angiogenic Activity

  • A chemical investigation of a culture extract from Streptomyces sp. RK85-270 led to the isolation and characterization of two new oxindoles, RK-270D (1) and E (2). The structures of 1 and 2 were determined by analyzing spectroscopic and spectrometric data from 1D and 2D NMR and High-resolution electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (HRESIMS) experiments. Compound 1 exhibited anti-angiogenic activities against human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) without cytotoxicity. Results of Western blot analysis revealed that 1 inhibits VEGF-induced angiogenesis in the HUVECs via VEGFR2/ p38 MAPK-mediated pathway.

Reproductive Variables and Risk of Breast Malignant and Benign Tumours in Yunnan Province, China

  • Introduction and aim: To compare reproductive factor influence on patients with pathological diagnosed malignant and benign tumor in the Breast Department, The First Peoples' Hospital of Kunming in Yunnan province, China. Methods: A hospital-based case-control study was conducted on 263 breast cancer (BC) cases and 457 non-breast cancer controls from 2009 to 2011. The cases and controls information on demographics, medical history, and reproductive characteristics variables were collected using a self-administered questionnaire and routine medical records. Histology of breast cancer tissue and benign breast lesion were documented by pathology reports. Since some variables in data analysis had zero count in at least one category, binomial-response GLM using the bias-reduction method was applied to estimate OR's and their 95% confidence intervals (95% CI). To adjust for age and menopause status, a compound variable comprising age and menopausal status was retained in the statistical models. Results: multivariate model analysis revealed significant independent positive associations of BC with short menstrual cycle, old age at first live birth, never breastfeeding, history of oral contraception experience, increased number of abortion, postmenopausal status, and nulliparity. Categorised by age and menopausal status, perimenopausal women had about 3-fold and postmenopausal women had more than 5-fold increased risk of BC compared to premenopausal women. Discussion and Conclusion: This study has confirmed the significant association of BC and estrogen related risk factors of breast cancer including longer menstrual cycle, older age of first live birth, never breastfeeding, nulliparity, and number of abortions more than one. The findings suggest that female hormonal factors, especially the trend of menopause status play a significant role in the development of BC in Yunnan women.

Prediction of Stage Discharge Curve and Lateral Distribution of Unit Discharge in an Arbitrary Cross Section Channel with Floodplain Vegetation (홍수터 식생을 고려한 불규칙한 단면에서의 수위-유량 곡선 및 단위유량 횡분포 예측)

  • A numerical model was developed to predict the stage-discharge curve and lateral distribution of unit discharge in open channels with nonuniform cross section or compound open-channels. The governing equation is the one-dimensional momentum equation based on assumptions of the steady and uniform flow conditions in the longitudinal direction and the uniform water surface elevation in a cross section. Vegetative drag force term was included in governing equation in order to reflect the effect of floodplain vegetation on the flow characteristics. Finite element method was applied to obtain the numerical solution of the governing equation. Stage-discharge curve and lateral distribution of unit discharge for a given water surface are calculated based on input data, such as the cross sectional geometry, Manning's roughness coefficient, vegetative information and longitudinal slope of channel bed. The developed model was verified by comparing the calculated results with the observed data and the results of Darby and Thorne's(1996) model and the nonlinear k-$\epsilon$ model. The verified model was applied to estimate the upstream boundary conditions in two-dimensional flow model. The numerical results using laterally distributed unit discharge were compared with those obtained using uniformly distributed unit discharge in two-dimensional flow model.

Influence of Gibberellin and Urea treatment on the Production of mulberry leaf and characteristic of silkworm (지베렐린과 요소의 처리가 상수의 수량 및 잠아의 실용형질에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted investigate the effect of Gibberellin and Urea on the growth of mulberry tree with the compound treatment, and the characteristic of silkworm when the mulberry leaves simply treated with GB and the compound treatment with GB and Urea were supplied. The results are as follows. 1. Mulberry tree A. The leaf weight per mulberry tree with the compound treatment of GB+ Urea was heavier in spring silkworm and the leaf yield was increased by 7% compared with the non-treatment plot. B. The growth of wattle, leaf length and leaf width was more accelerated in the compound treatment plot of GB+Urea, the single treatment plot of GB and Urea than th!: non-treatment plot in autumn silkworm, and there was observed an incredse yielding effect of 16% in GB+Urea plot, in 16% GB plot and 18% in Urea plot respectively as compared with th: non-treatment plot, hut yield per l000m unit of wattle length was the least in GB plot. C. In the composition of mulberry leaves of treatment, water and crude protein was increased in the compound treatment plot of GB + Urea and the single treatment plot of GB and Urea than the non-treatment plot, but dry matter and carbohydrate were decredsed. 2. Characteristics of Larva in spring silkworm A. The mortality ratio of 4 and 5 instar plot was equally high in the compound treatment plot of GB+ Urea and the pupation ratio of 4 instar plot was lower than other treatment plot. B. Although there was no significant difference observed in the cocoon weight of 10.000 1st-day worms in both 4 and 5 instar plots between each treatment plot, the single treatment plot of GB showed somewhat great than other treatment plots. C. There was no significant difference observed in the cocoon layer ratio between each treatment plot, but 4 instar plots was slightly higher than 5 instar plots. 3. Characteristics of Larva in Autumn silkworm A. The mortality ratio of the compound treatment plot of GB+ Urea and GB was higher than that of the nontreatment and single treatment plot of Urea. B. The pupation ratio of the single treatment plot of Urea was higher than that of the compound treatment plot of GB + Urea, and there was no significant difference observed between other treatment plot. C. The cocoon weight of 10.000 1st-day th instar worms was heavier in the single treatment plot of Urea than nontreatment plot, GB+Urea plot and GB plot. D. The cocoon layer ratio was no significant difference observed between each-treatment.

Effect of LED Light Quality Treatment on the Functional Optimization of Foliage Plant (LED 광질이 관엽식물의 기능성 최적화에 미치는 영향)

  • White light and compound light were found to be the ideal light sources for improving the functionality and ornamental value of indoor plants and reducing the cost of maintenance, but because compound light hinders people from recognizing the original color of plants and makes their eyes easily tired, white light was considered the optimal light satisfying all of the ornamental value, economic efficiency and functionality resulting from plant growth. On the other hand, in the results of examining physiological changes before and after treatment on fine dust PM10 and carbon dioxide removal capacity in a closed chamber under an artificial light source, the patterns of carbon dioxide and fine dust removal were similar among the treatment groups according to light condition, but according to plant type, the removal rate per unit leaf area was highest in $Spathiphyllum$ and lowest in $Dieffenbachia$. In the experiment on dust and carbon dioxide removal, the photosynthetic rate was over 2 times higher after the treatment, and the rate increased particularly markedly under compound light and white light, suggesting that the photosynthetic rate of plants increases differently according to light quality. These results show that light quality has a significant effect on the photosynthetic rate of plants, and suggests that plants with a high photosynthetic rate also have a high carbon dioxide and dust removal capacity. In conclusion, the photosynthetic rate of foliage plants increased under white and blue light that affect photosynthesis and the increased photosynthetic rate reduced carbon dioxide and fine dust, and therefore white and compound light were found to be the optimal light sources most functional and economically efficient in improving ornamental value and indoor air quality.

Compounds A and C contain the well-known Anderson structure (planar structure) heteropoly oxometalate having approximate $bar{3}_m(D_{3d})$ symmetry, while compound B contains the bent structure heteropoly oxometalate having appproximate $2_{mm}(C2_v)$ symmetry. The bent structure and the planar one are geometrical isomers. These compounds are rot only novel heteroply molybdates containing platinate(IV) but also the first example of geometrical isomerism in the hexamolybdoheteropoly oxometalates. That isomerization surprisingly occurred because of the change of only 0.5 non-acidic hydrogen atom attached to the polyanion such as $[H_{3.5}{\alpha} -PtMo_6O_{24}]^{4.5-}{\to}[H_4{\beta}-PtMo_6O_{24}]^{4-}{\to}[H_{4.5}{\alpha} -PtMo_6O_{24}]^{3.5-}$. It seems that the gradual protonation of the polyanion plays an important role in that isomerism. These heteropolyanions form dimers by strong hydrogen bonds between two heteropolyanions in the respective crystal system.

  • The crystal structure of the title compound was determined from single crystal X-ray dirt fraction study : C16H16NO3, Mr=271.316, orthorh ombic, Aba2, a=15.750(3), b=13.470(2), c=13.356 (2) A, V=2833A, Z=8, Dx=1.26 Mgm-3, λ(MoK a) =0.71069A, r=0.51mm-2, F(000)=1136, T=291 K, R=0.0414 for 728 unique observed [F≥3e(F)] reflections and 240 parameters. The molecule is nearly planar within 0.2 A with the torsion angle -179(2)°for C(4)-C(7)-C(8)-C(9).The into rmolecular interactions are mainly by van der Waals force with the nearest intermolecular distance 3.647A between O(3) and C(4) translated by half unit along band c-axes.

  • 본 논문은 복합 단위 정보를 이용하여 모호성을 감소시키고 자연스러운 대역어 정보를 제공할 수 있는 차트파서를 기술한다. 복합 단위 정보를 사용하는 파싱은 태깅과 구문 분석 과정 사이에서 여러 단어들을 하나의 단위로 만들어서 형태론적/구문적 모호성과 파스 트리의 수를 감소시킨다. 우리는 Bottom-up 차트 파싱을 사용하는데, 이는 모호성 있는 태깅 결과가 많을수록 파스 트리의 생성 시간과 수의 증가를 초래하므로 복합 단위를 사용하여 파서에 대한 입력 단어의 수 및 모호성을 감소시켜 안정적인 파싱 결과를 얻을 수 있게 한다. 실험 결과는 복합 단위 정보를 사용한 차트 파싱이 차트들의 크기와 파스 트리의 수를 50%까지 감소시킴을 보여준다.

Way to use construction waste that is development of new compound material and Industry product is required. Limestone powder that is Industry product is $CaCO_3$. and vicosity is promotion effect because there is no damage to hydration of cement and powder is very thin and water tightness increases. This research purposed to analyze concrete property changing limestone fineness. According as the limestone powdered replacement ratio increases, slump and unit capacity mass increased, and the air content decreased according as the replacement ratio increases. Compressive strength and tensile strength decreased according as the limestone powder replacement ratio increases.
