Steel lining board usually is used as a floor on the temporary steel bridges. It also is installed in the subway construction site. However, in particular in subway construction, renovations and site of old bridges, these steel lining board structures have a problem such as noise, accidents and slip hazards. So steel composite lining board is being developed to solve this problem. Steel composite lining board consists of compressive concrete showing excellent performance in slip, durability, resistance and noise, lower tensile and shear steel showing high safety, effective and superior workability in many respects. Steel composite lining board structure gradually is used in many construction sites, because it has a high quality such as durability, little noise and slip. In this study, flexural tests of steel composite lining board in accordance with welding patterns were conducted to compare the performance of the structure.
This paper presents the fundamental parameters for designing the NATM Composite Lining to be used in NATM tunnel construction. Firstly, the concept of NATM Composite Lining behaviour is introduced and reviewed in construction-performance. For the fundamental study, the optimal mix ratio tests and backfill material property tests to develop high-quality composite lining (PC panel lining) are fundamentally carried out. And the light-weight foamed mortar which is used for backfill material is developed. Full-scale loading tests to verify a performance of the NATM Composite Lining is also performed. From this research, it is clearly found that the NATM Composite Lining is very applicable method to considerably increase the stability and constructability of tunnel structure.
In this paper, full-scale loading tests were performed on a rectangular segmental tunnel lining, which was assembled by steel composite segments, to investigate its load-bearing structural behavior and failure mechanism. The tests were also used to confirm the composite effect by adding concrete inside to satisfy the required performance under severe loading conditions. The design of the tested rectangular segmental lining and the loading scheme are also described to better understand the bearing capacity of this composite lining structure. It is found that the structural ultimate bearing capacity is governed by the bond capacity between steel plates and the tunnel segment. The failure of the strengthened lining is the consequence of local failure of the bond at waist joints. This led to a fast decrease of the overall stiffness and eventually a loss of the structural integrity.

This research is to develop the steel-concrete composite lining board using section shape steel. This lining board adopts section shape steel, rectangular pipe and H-beam, instead of roll-formed steel member commonly used in other composite lining board. Consequently, it reduces fabrication effort. Efficient section which can reduce the weight of steel of the lining board is made by placing the neutral axis of the section near the lower surface of concrete. Behavior of composite section is improved by adding bolts as shear connector. Static and fatigue tests were conducted to verify the performance of the composite lining board developed. The test results indicate that serviceability as well as safety of the lining board developed is secured with good margin and reduction of steel weight can be made about 27% compared with other composite lining boards.
Steel-concrete composite segments replacing the conventional reinforced concrete segments can provide the rectangular shield tunnel superiorities on bearing capacity, ductility and economy. A simplified model with high-efficiency on computation is proposed for investigating the nonlinear response of the rectangular tunnel lining composed of composite segments. The simulation model is developed by an assembly of nonlinear fiber beam elements and spring elements to express the transfer mechanism of forces through components of composite segments, and radial joints. The simulation is conducted with the considerations of material nonlinearity and geometric nonlinearity associated with the whole loading process. The validity of the model is evaluated through comparison of the proposed nonlinear simulation with results obtained from the full-scale test of the segmental tunnel lining. Furthermore, a parameter study is conducted by means of the simplified model. The results show that the stiffness of the radial joint at haunch of the ling and the thickness of inner steel plate of segments have remarkable influence on the behaviour of the lining.
This paper presents the applicability of NATM Composite Lining method in domestic tunnel construction sites. Firstly, in order to produce high quality PC Panel, optimal steam curing condition is reviewed. And in preparation for fire inside the tunnel, the fire-resistance test of PC Panel is carried out. The constructability of NATM Composite Lining method and the drainage ability of light-weight foamed mortar is also evaluated through field construction test. And PC Panel combination program is developed to calculate the quantity of PC Panel efficiently. Besides, economic evaluation for NATM Composite Lining method is conducted. From this research, it is clearly found that NATM Composite Lining method is applicable to domestic tunnel construction site.

Recently, sewer-pipe constructions replacing deteriorated pipes are currently underway in the downtown area. To resolve many problems in the conventional method of open-cut construction, lining-board system using light-weight GFRP panels is developed. The pultruded GFRP panels can be successfully used for the developed lining-board system as temporary decks and retaining walls in virtue of light weight, high strength and high durability. In this paper, the structural safety and serviceability of the lining-board system are examined through FE analyses and experiments. Further more, a field application of the lining-board system is presented. The field application shows that quality and environment of construction can be significantly improved.

The purpose of this study was to estimate the changes of tensile bond strength according to the difference in lining materials and lining area. Seventy non-carious extracted human molars were used in the present study, and they were randomly assigned into 2 experimental groups according to the difference in lining materials. Each experimental group was subdivided into 3 groups according to the difference in lining area. Circular cavities were prepared on the dentin surface to a diameter of 1.5mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm and the prepared cavities were filled with Fuji II LC( Glass Ionomer Cement : GIC) or Dycal. Dentin specimens without circular cavity were used as control group. The primer and bonding agent of All-Bond 2 and composite resin (Z-100, 3M Dental Products, U. S. A.) were applied to the exposed dentin surface with or without lining. Tensile bond strengths for the experimental specimens were then measured. To examine the interface between dentin and liner & between liner and composite resin, two specimens from each group were fabricated and observed under the SEM. The results were as follows. 1. Tensile bond strength for the specimens lined with GIC was higher than that for specimens lined with Dycal. However, there was no significant difference between two groups(p>0.05). 2. Tensile bond strength for the specimens lined with GIC in a diameter of 1.5mm(GIC-1.5mm lining group) was statistically higher than that for the GIC-2.0mm lining group and GIC-2.5mm lining group(p<0.05). 3. Tensile bond strength for the specimens lined with Dycal in a diameter of 2.5mm (Dycal-2.5mm lining group)was statistically lower than that for Dycal-1.5mm lining group and Dycal-2.0mm lining group(p<0.05). 4. It was possible to observe the good adhesion of the resin composite to the GIC and the presence of a fissure between GIC and dentin all along the interface. Interfacial gaps of 7.2-$72.2{\mu}m$ between GIC and dentin were observed. The interfacial gap between GIC and dentin at the cavity base was greater. However, the gap was gradually decreased toward the occlusal portion. 5. It was possible to observe the poor adhesion of the resin composite to the Dycal. The detachment of Dycal was occurred all along the composite resin-Dycal interface, and the gaps of 2.0-$30.1{\mu}m$ were formed. In all the specimens, polymerization shrinkage of resin composite caused the detachment of Dycal from the body of Dycal. At a Dycal-dentin interface. it was possible to observe the good adhesion. but poor adhesion with interfacial gap of 2.9-$26.8{\mu}m$ was observed partially.

Currently, composite lining mountain tunnels in China are generally classified based on the [BQ] method for the surrounding rock grade. Increasingly, tunnel field construction is replicated indoors for scale down model tests. However, the development of analogous materials for model tests of composite lining tunnels with different surrounding rock grades is still unclear. In this study, typical Class III and V surrounding rock analogous materials and corresponding composite lining support materials were developed. The whole processes of excavation-support dynamics of the mountain tunnels were simulated. Data on the variation of deformations, contact pressures and strains on the surrounding rock were obtained. Finally, a comparative analysis between model tests and numerical simulations was performed to verify the rationality of analogous material development. The following useful conclusions were obtained by analyzing the data from the tests. The main analogous materials of Class III surrounding rock are barite powder, high-strength gypsum and quartz sand with fly ash, quartz sand, anhydrous ethanol and rosin for Class V surrounding rock. Analogous materials for rockbolts, steel arches are replaced by aluminum bar and iron bar respectively with both shotcrete and secondary lining corresponding to gypsum and water. In addition, load release rate of Class V surrounding rock should be less than Class III surrounding rock. The fenestration level had large influence on the load sharing ratio of the secondary lining, with a difference of more than 30%, while the influence of the support time was smaller. The Sharing ratios of secondary lining in Class III surrounding rock do not exceed 12%, while those of Class V surrounding rock exceed 40%. The overall difference between the results of model tests and numerical simulations is small, which verifies the feasibility of similar material development in this study.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate of shear bond strength of light-curing composite resin to light-curing glass ionomer cement. Composite resin and glass ionomer cement have been widely used as an esthetic filling materials in dental clinics. To achieve better clinical results, sandwich technic was developed with conpensating for disadvantages of these two materials. Especially, light-curing glass ionomer cement provided greately improved bonding strength of teeth or composite resin, and then excellent clinical results can be acquired. In this study, 6 commercial light-curing glass ionomer cements(3 commercial restorative materials : Fuji II LC, Variglass VLC, Vitremer, and 3 commercial lining materials : Fuji Lining LC, Baseline VLC, Vitrebond) were devided two groups. According to manufacturer's appointment, no surface treatment was referred to N groups. Supposing. of clinical practice, surface grinding with water spray at 320 grit sand paper, 40 seconds etching with 37% phosphoric acid, 20 seconds washing, 20 seconds air drying was referred to N groups. Totally 12 experimental groups were devided, and all 120 specimens from 10 specimens of each groups were made. After light-curing composite resin was bonded to light-curing glass ionomer cement, shear bond strength was tested by Instron universal testing machine between glass ionomer cement and composit resin. The data were analyzed statistically by Student's t-test and ANOVA. The obtained results were as follows; 1. In light-curing glass ionomer cement, restorative materials showed higher shear bond strength to composite resin than lining materials(p<0.05). 2. Variglass VLC of restorative material group and Baseline VLC of lining material group have highest shear bond strength to composite resin(p<0.001). 3. In light-curing glass ionomer cement, surface grinding and acid etching reduced shear bond strength to composite resin(p<0.001)}. 4. VGN group 1s highest shear bond strength to composite resin, VBE group is lowest shear bond strength to composite resin(p<0.001).
