Analysis is given of construction and stability of complex symmetric analogues of Householder matrices, with applications to the eigenproblem for such matrices. We investigate numerical properties of the deflation of complex symmetric matrices by using complex symmetric Householder transformations. The proposed method is very similar to the well-known deflation technique for real symmetric matrices (Cf. [16], pp. 586-595). In this paper we present an error analysis of one step of the deflation of complex symmetric matrices.

It is recently proved by Aiyama and the authors [2] that a complete space-like complex submanifold of a complex space form $M^{n+p}$$_{p}$ (c') (c'.geq.0) is to totally geodesic. This is a complex version of the Bernstein-type theorem in the Minkowski space due to Calabi [4] and Cheng and Yau [5], which is generalized by Nishikawa[7] in the Lorentz manifold satisfying the strong energy condition. The purpose of this paper is to consider his result in the complex Lorentz manifold and is to prove the following.e following.

In this paper we introduce in study a new class of complex Finsler spaces, namely the complex Randers spaces, for which the fundamental metric tensor and the Chern-Finsler connection are determined. A special approach is devoted to $K{\ddot{a}}ahler$-Randers metrics. Using the length arc parametrization for the extremal curves of the Euler-Lagrange equations we obtain a complex nonlinear connections of Lorentz type in a complex Randers space.

In this paper, we investigate the $\mathbb{R}$-complex Hermitian Finsler spaces, emphasizing the differences that separate them from the complex Finsler spaces. The tools used in this study are the Chern-Finsler and Berwald connections. By means of these connections, some classes of the $\mathbb{R}$-complex Hermitian Finsler spaces are defined, (e.g. weakly K$\ddot{a}$hler, K$\ddot{a}$hler, strongly K$\ddot{a}$hler). Here the notions of K$\ddot{a}$hler and strongly K$\ddot{a}$hler do not coincide, unlike the complex Finsler case. Also, some kinds of Berwald notions for such spaces are introduced. A special approach is devoted to obtain the equivalence conditions for an $\mathbb{R}$-complex Hermitian Finsler space to become a weakly Berwald or Berwald. Finally, we obtain the conditions under which an $\mathbb{R}$-complex Hermitian Finsler space with Randers metric is Berwald. We get some clear examples which illustrate the interest for this work.

고온에서 화학적역안정성 및 기계적안정성의 섬유구조를 갖기 위해 lithim complex gellant로 정한 지방산과 $LiOH\cdot H_2O$ 및 boric acid의 이차연속검화반응으로 lithium dual complex 그리이스를 합성하였다. complex gellant의 양은 14%(NLGI 2호)가 적정량이었으며, 특히 castor wax를 1.5% 첨가했을때 이상적인 성능을 나타냈다. 이렇게 합성한 그리이스의 유분리성, 산화안정성, 내수성, 혼화안정성, 극압 및 내마모성은 ASTM 및 KS 방법에 준해 시험하였으며, 매우 우수한 특성을 지녔음을 알았다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the residents' actual usage at three rest areas and three playgrounds in an apartment complex. This study was conducted with field study in J apartment complex in Incheon from August 14 to August 30, 1998. According to the results of the study, there were more users in playgrounds than in the rest areas. The rest area near the place for the elderly in the complex was used mainly by the elderly females. The playground located near the main entrance of the complex was frequently used because it is the biggest one in size and has an enough space for playing. Furthermore, the condition of shading areas by trees and buildings influenced the rate of use of the residents. Therefore, to increase the usage rate of rest areas and playgrounds, they should be located near to the places which have community amenities and should have accessible entrance for residents. Landscape design of the apartment complex should be done with the plot plan of the complex simultaneously. Moreover, the number and the kinds of trees to be planted in the apartment complex should be considered carefully.

In this paper, we investigate curvature-adapted and proper complex equifocal submanifolds in a symmetric space of non-compact type. The class of these submanifolds contains principal orbits of Hermann type actions as homogeneous examples and is included by that of curvature-adapted and isoparametric submanifolds with flat section. First we introduce the notion of a focal point of non-Euclidean type on the ideal boundary for a submanifold in a Hadamard manifold and give the equivalent condition for a curvature-adapted and complex equifocal submanifold to be proper complex equifocal in terms of this notion. Next we show that the complex Coxeter group associated with a curvature-adapted and proper complex equifocal submanifold is the same type group as one associated with a principal orbit of a Hermann type action and evaluate from above the number of distinct principal curvatures of the submanifold.

To elucidate the effect of antioxidant complex containing $\beta-carotene$, vitamin E, vitamin C, Ginkgo Biloba leaf extract and selenium on oxygen :tree radical production and detoxification system, rats were fed normal diet and normal diet with antioxidant complex 0.1%, 0.3% and 0.5% for 3 weeks. Feed efficiency ratio, changes in body weight, weight gain and amounts of feces of rat are similar in four groups. Liver weight per body weight and hepatic lipid peroxide weight increased in 0.5% group. However, hepatic glutathione contents in all antioxidant complex added groups were significantly increased compare with normal control group. On the other hand, the activity of xanthine oxidase was a little increased due to the amounts of antioxidant complex. Superoxide dismutase and gutathione peroxidase activity of 0.1% antioxidant complex added group were increased about $10{\sim}20%$ in comparison to normal control group. These results suggest that the supplementation of antioxidant complex 0.1% to basal diet may reduce the hepatic damage caused by free radicals.

As for Hadamard Transform, because the calculation time of this transform is slower than Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) and Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), the effectiveness and the practicality are insufficient. Then, the computational complexity can be decreased by using the butterfly operation as well as FFT. We composed calculation time of FFT with that of Fast Complex Hadamard Transform by constructing the algorithm of Fast Complex Hadamard Transform. They are indirect conversions using program of complex number calculation, and immediate calculations. We compared calculation time of them with that of FFT. As a result, the reducing the calculation time of the Complex Hadamard Transform is achieved. As for the computational complexity and calculation time, the result that quadrinomial Fast Complex Hadamard Transform that don't use program of complex number calculation decrease more than FFT was obtained.

Five species of the genus Pythium were identified from 91 isolates which were collected from rice seedlings in machine transplanting nursery boxes and paddy fields in Korea. They included P. graminicola complex, P. monospermum complex, P. rostratum complex, and P. ultimum complex. The most frequently found species of the genus Pythium was P. graminicola complex followed by P. monospermum complex. Rice seed germinability was greatly decreased by being infested with P. graminicola complex at nursery box. P. graminicola complex was the most virulent in terms of prohibiting germinations and stunting plants in nursery boxes.
