The purpose of this paper was to draw implications for community economic development policies of Korean local governments by investigating the community economic development policies of the USA local governments. Those policies can be segmented to first wave(1950s-1970s), second wave(1980s), and third wave(1990s) of development policy. First two policies entailed some expense to community residents by providing low tax rates, tax abatement, tax reliefs, industrial revenue bonds, and direct state loans for potential companies. These policies brought ‘clawback’ and ‘drawbacks’ to the local residents. The third wave of community economic development policy includes capital market programs(predominantly government-financed loan programs and government support for predominantly privately financed loan or equity programs), providing information and education for small business in the communities, supporting small business by providing high technology and research, and export assistance-providing information/training opportunity how to export, sending trade missions, and export financing. Local government authorities in Korea should learn the community economic development policies administrated by the USA local governments so that they can avoid the potential try-and-errors in establishing, planning, and administrating their economic development policies.

본 연구는 포괄적 지역사회계획 관점을 적용하여 아동중심의 지역사회개발 실천의 시사점을 찾는 것이다. 연구 참여자는 구룡포 마을(어촌)과 가능1동 마을(도시)에서 아동중심의 지역사회개발 실천경험을 가지고 있는 6명의 사회복지사이고 이들을 대상으로 FGI방법을 사용하였다. 발견된 주요 연구 결과는 첫째, CCIs 초기 단계에서 지역사회 사정기술이 중요하였다. 둘째, 어촌지역 실천에 있어서 현지화 전략이 유용하였다. 셋째, 빈곤한 아동의 부모를 조직화 하는 것이 중요하였다. 마지막으로, 외국의 연구와는 달리 어촌 마울에서의 아동중심의 지역사회개발 실천의 성과가 높게 나타났다.

As the Knowledge Economy grows bigger, studies and practices of knowledge management flourish in almost every organizations. Yet, the studies of fundamental relationships between knowledge and organization have not been sufficiently developed. It is partly because current knowledge management mainly focus on the technical aspects of the theme. This paper tries to find the possible organizing principles and theoretical foundations of knowledge-intensive organizations through the perspective of knowledge market and knowledge community. Based on the differentiation of "knowledge" and "knowing", the author draws several propositions about knowledge creation and knowledge use. Then, the author relates these propositions to the design and implementation of two theoretical models of organizations, i. e. knowledge market and knowledge community. Major claims are: 1) Knowledge use and knowledge creation process are conceptually separable, so that different conceptual models (market & community) need to be applied. 2) Since knowledge use and creation should be integrated, organizations in the Knowledge Economy should be the efficient knowledge market and, at the same time, knowledge community with care and cooperations. 3) The network of independent small KIFs(knowledge-intensive firms) could be considered as the possible organizational model of the future.

Forming Community is important to manage and provide the service in Ubiquitous Environments including embedded tiny computers. Community Computing is that members constitute the community and cooperate. A mutual exclusion problem occurs when many processors try to use one resource and race condition happens. In the expanded concept, a group mutual exclusion problem is that processors in the same group can share the resource but processors in different groups cannot share. As mutual exclusion problems might be in community computing environments, we propose algorithm which improves the execution speed using RMS (resource management service). In this paper describes proposed algorithm and proves its performance by experiments, comparing proposed algorithm with previous method using quorum-based algorithm.

Gabriel García Márquez's short story "The Handsomest Drowned Man in the World" ["El ahogado más hermoso del mundo," 1968] and the novel Chronicle of a Death Foretold [Crónica de una muerte anunciada, 1981] and Merlinda Bobis's novel Fish-Hair Woman (2012) and short story "O Beautiful Co-Spirit" (2021) feature unusual scenarios of death: the arrival of a drowned man's corpse at an island; the inaction of the community to stop the foretold death of a supposedly-innocent man; a woman with long hair that can fetch dead bodies at the bottom of the village river; and a Filipino Catholic and a Malaysian Muslim working together to prepare an Italian Catholic's corpse for a funeral. These narratives demand critical attention as all deaths make the community's existence meaningful as they alter its social reality. Looking into the works of the aforementioned Colombian writer and Filipino writer and unveiling how death affects the community, this paper relies on Jean-Luc Nancy's theory on death and inoperative community.

The growth of social media has enabled firms to create virtual organizations (online communities) in which value can be co-created with members. Yet, current typologies of firm-sponsored online communities focus either on the firm or participants, and not the interaction between them. This paper provides a systematic review of the online community literature from 2000 to 2018 to develop an understanding of the types of firm-sponsored online communities and the co-creation of value within them. Four types of sponsored online communities are found. These can be differentiated based on the output for the sponsoring firm and the level of self-organization of the communities. This study contributes to the discussion of value co-creation by (i) shedding light on differences among firm-sponsored online community types based on the level and nature of interaction within an online community; and (ii) examining the perceived value co-created through community interactive experiences.

This paper, based on a qualitative ethnographic study among college of education students, examines the online interactional processes surrounding academic discourse socialization. Data for this paper come from a larger study of an academic classroom community of graduate students and their instructor. In this study, I looked into the ways computer-mediated communication (CMC) contexts factor into graduate students' academic literacy experience in a graduate classroom, therein enculturating them into their new academic community. I focus on cases of nonnative graduate students in a content course in the department of educational psychology at a large southwestern university in the U.S. I explore the agency of the focal participants in terms of the roles they played in the classroom discourse highlighting the dialectical and interactional perspective of academic discourse socialization. This paper focused on the construction of varied participant roles of the focal students. It further examines student reactions and responses to these constructions during synchronous CMC activity.

Bearing in mind that global climate change is a rising issue, the coastal community of Prek Thnaot, Cambodia has been put on severe effects about natural disasters caused from poor infrastructure and agriculture dependence. This paper proposes to provide and guide a strategic action for the sustainable development path of coastal community in a more continuous manner including a robust resilience to impacts of climate change, natural disasters, and other risks. In doing so, this paper will help environmentally sound management and coastal resources sustainability being sound for socially and economically inclusive development. Proposed fourteen strategic actions for the research should be accompanying with the participation of and cooperation from the local coastal community. Based on the proposed strategic actions, it is critical that the local authorities and other key stakeholders need to accomplish. Providing a good insight for the central government, the strategic action is expected to integrate and prepare a management strategy plan for the local coastal community level. Therefore, this information can be applied to other coastal areas to promote and ensure sustainable protection and management of coastal resources.

본 논문은 커뮤니티 기반의 유비쿼터스 네트워크에서 대리 서명 기법을 적용한 커뮤니티 멤버들 간의 상호 인증 기법 및 안전한 커뮤니티 생성 권한 위임 기법을 제안한다. 커뮤니티 기반의 유비쿼터스 네트워크에서는 사용자가 필요로 하는 네트워크 서비스 및 응용서비스를 제공해주기 위해 다양한 상황인식 정보가 수집 되고 활용된다. 또한 사용자는 학업, 게임, 정보 공유, 사업, 회의 등의 다양한 목적에 의해 다양한 커뮤니티를 생성할 수 있다. 그러나 커뮤니티 기반의 유비쿼터스 네트워크의 경우 공격자에 의해 상황인식 정보가 위조 및 도용되어 악의적인 목적으로 사용될 수 있다. 또한 악의적인 목적으로 커뮤니티를 생성할 수 있다. 제안하는 기법은 위임 서명 기법을 이용하여 커뮤니티 멤버들 간의 상호 인증 및 비밀 키를 교환 할 수 있도록 지원하고, 안전하게 커뮤니티 생성 권한을 위임할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 기존 RSA 서명 기법과의 비교 분석을 통해 전체 계산 시간이 감소함을 확인하였다.
