Characteristics of Local-based Community Business in the Early Stages of Urban Regeneration Policy (도시재생정책 초기의 지역밀착형 커뮤니티 비즈니스 특성에 관한 연구)

  • In 2010, Busan Metropolitan City established an organization dedicated to urban regeneration. The Sanbok Road Renaissance Project and Hope Village Project are representative urban regeneration projects. Busan Metropolitan City is a leading local government that has expanded community business through urban policies. This study analyzed the operational status and characteristics of community-based community businesses based in Busan Metropolitan City in the early stages of urban regeneration policy. As a result, the direction of community-based community business is 'community empowerment'. However, the project effects such as 'expansion of opportunities for local residents to help each other' and 'residents' understanding of the local community' were low. In order to operate a community business, it is important to secure sufficient business capital and secure necessary human resources. In order to revitalize community-based community businesses through urban regeneration policies, it is necessary to convert support into functional organizations of urban regeneration projects rather than expanding subsidies and expand opportunities for business participation.

Difference Analysis between Social Workers and Community Members about Perception of Citizen-Initiative (주민주도성에 대한 사회복지사와 주민간 인식 차이에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to find developing way of community welfare aimed community-initiative by analyzing differential perception of citizen-initiative between social workers and community members. For this purpose, this study did a difference analysis on self-rating result of importance and difficulty in 59 statements about the citizen-initiative. Participants were 10 social workers in charge of community center over 2 years and 10 community members joined in community group over 2 years. The results are as follows. Differential perception between social workers and community members appeared both importance and difficulty. Especially, differential perception in difficulty was bigger. The statements that social workers as well as community members answered high level of difficulty were related with securing budget and external financial support. As the analysis of categorized statements, the differential perception in 'Goal and responsibility' and 'Democratic system' in procedural aspects were statistically significant. Based on these results, this study presented practical suggestions to make consensus about citizen-initiative in community organization.

  • The article attempts to explore community change perceived by participants result from The Integrated Program for Infant and Young Children, a program operated by the Community Chest. The participants expressed and shared their experiences through photos and discussions using the Photo-voice method under the theme of 'community life, its meaning and change'. The main themes were 1. In the past, 'community life,' non-meaningful space; 2. Now, we have shared identity, 'You are not alone'; 3. Our village which is a new place in my life. The article also may suggest issues on both community intervention for early children development program and organization for fosterers as social capital. Additionally, photo-voice method enabled participants to find the way to restructure their community from non-place to place. There were three stages, the first was to reflect on their community, the second was to re-inhabit in the community, and the last was to restore the community.

  • To analyze main factors of size planning of community facilities that were created as part of development of a rural area, the present condition of factors deciding size of community facilities was analyzed, factors that influence size planning by the type of community facility were drawn with Delphi anaysis. The results of analyzing the present condition of size planning factors of community facilities show that facilities have been generally planned as multi-purpose and multi-functional facilities. And on the basis of the purpose of facilities, their functions and organization, and their operation programs, facilities are classified into community-centered, agritourism-centered, and combined ones. Using Delphi analysis, major factors that could affect size planning of community facilities were drawn on 26 community-centered, 28 agritourism-centered, and 30 combined. And the factors tended not to be applied well for size planning of community facilities.

Job Stress, Job Satisfaction, and Organizational Commitment of Customized Home Health Care Nurse (방문건강관리 간호사의 직무스트레스, 직무만족도와 조직애착도)

  • Objectives: This research was done to identify relationships among job stress, fatigue, job satisfaction, and commitment to organization in customized home health care nurses. Methods: Research participants were 130 nurses who worked in the customized home health care of 20 county in Gyeongnam province. Data collection for this descriptive correlational study was done at August 2010 using self report questionnaires, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and we analyzed a four step approach in which several regression analyses were conducted and significance of the coefficients is examined at each step. Results: The results from step 1 showed that, the effect of each job stress was significantly related to job satisfaction. In step 2, the direct effect of commitment to organization on job satisfactions were all significant too. Step 3 analysis showed that the total effect of each job stress on commitment to organization symptoms was significant. Step 4 showed the results of controlling for mediating factor (job satisfaction): job demand and insecurity were significantly associated with commitment to organization(p<0.001), the finding supports that others were fully mediated by each job satisfaction, and, the job demand and insecurity were partially mediated by job satisfaction. Conclusion: Results of this research indicated that job stress in customized home health care nurses was the principal variable affecting job satisfaction and commitment to organization. Appropriate stress management strategies based on assessment of job demand and job security for these nurses lead to development of improved commitment to organization.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify a direction for increase of resident participation by analyzing the social relations of resident participation. In the research method, the method of statistical analysis was added to the legal institutional method. As a result, the following findings were obtained: First, it is very important that the resident representative meeting at the center of the participation of the resident organization should take the role in and responsibility for the promotion of participation. Second, it is necessary to have smooth communication with voluntary groups such as women's association or club forming the coordinating group. Third, Among other things, it is judged that residents should have an active will to participate and practice in order to promote their participation in the apartment community. The above results imply that participation should be promoted by enabling residents to perform four functions of resident participation. Accordingly, the promotion of participation based on the function of participation is very necessary and important.

  • This paper is aimed at investigating the factors to grow the new technology based firm(NTBF), K-MAC. NTBFs need an environment in which novelty is encouraged, employees find work meaningful and controllable, learning is incorporated into work, ideas and process improvements are implemented and a balanced focus of the internal and external to the company is fostered. With collaboration between industry and academia, Lynda Aiman-Smith made an instrument of VIQ(Value Innovation Quotient), which is consist of 9 factors, 33 items. VIQ Results can help the company to develop a better understanding of the organization's culture, and its formal subgroups. That is to identify subcultures in the organization, to diagnose potential problems or inhibitors of innovation, to identify organizational strengths for innovation and set a quantitative baseline. Using the VIQ,K-MAC analysed the subculture of innovation potential capability. K-MAC organized the COP(community of practice) with the young employees' participation and try to solve the real problem in the working place. This paper explained the diverse growing trajectory through the TPM concept and suggest for the future strategy.

  • Eco-village is emerging as one of housing styles in the modern age. The common space in Eco-village uses environment-friendly materials while residents appear to aspire to a community. The common space in Eco-village offers a place of interchange and interaction for both visitors and residents as a transit area connecting dwelling units. It also forms the sense of community and serves as a space that builds friendly relations among residents. However, there seems to be a lack of research compare to its various roles and importance for this common space, which is an significant factor in establishing Eco-village plans. The purpose of this study is to provide research data by creating a layout drawing of Eco-village and reveal the characteristics of space boundary and practical use of common space through case studies on villages. This will serve as actual data in designing common space which would correspond to the purpose of Eco-village planning.

  • Low birth rate problem in Korea has been mainly derived from the increasing number of female employment and the change of consciousness of female. According to the recent report, some other causes of low birth rate are from the difficulty of using childcare facilities with quality services and the relative lack of quantities of the facilities. The basic principle of childcare includes protection, education, nutrition, safety, service to parents, and correlation with community. Childcare has been deemed to be the social system even to guarantee the parents' right of work. Even though a lot of progress has been made in childcare facilities by changes for a long period of time, the research on the actual condition shows that there are relatively little changes of the space organization of the childcare facilities reflecting characteristics of community and developmental characteristics of infants and children. Now a days it has been appeared as a social problem that childcare has to be needed as a part of systematic education program for such an important infant era.
