Study on User Legibility for Web-based Testing (웹 기반 평가를 위한 사용자 가독성에 관한 연구)

  • With development of computer engineering and the examination theories, new techniques to use computers in making or administrating examinations had been studied and developed. Recently, studies on web-based testing are in progress with development of Internet and information and communication technology. However, as compared with development of these technical aspects, studies on the user legibility to provide learners with comfortable environment for the evaluation have been insufficient in fact. In the web-based testing, user legibility decreases the anxiety of examinees in the examination and plays an important role in measuring their competence exactly. In this study, we tried to provide the optimum web-based evaluation interface by obtaining information through a questionnaire for primary-school students. We think that principles suggested in this study can give a great help in making the web-based evaluation screen in future. Besides, studies on more various fields including making individual questions, instructing sentences and layout of multimedia factors as well as the principles mentioned in this study should be performed.

  • Arduino is a microcontroller platform for non-IT major students, and is widely used as a learning tool. Several AVR series microcontrollers are used in Arduino boards, but ATmega128 is not used. ATmega128 is widely used because of its high expandability and competitive price compared to ATmega328 and ATmega2560 used in Arduino boards. Therefore, by allowing ATmega128 to be used in an Arduino environment, the usability of existing hardware and the Arduino platform can be improved. In this paper, proposed are an Arduino-compatible board design based on ATmega128 and ways to use the ATmega128-based board. As the strengthes of the Arduino platform can be used while utilizing existing hardware in the proposed extension, it is expected that the proposed one can be used in various microcontroller-related education and enhance the learning efficiency.

  • Currently, aircraft and automobile simulator for training provides a variety of training by making hypothetical situation on a simulator installed on the ground currently. And the instructor maximizes the effectiveness of the training by monitoring training and instructing the required training. When trainees are boarding the aircraft or automobile. The Instructor in the ground is not able to monitoring aircraft, automobile. The assessment of the training is not easy after the end of the training. Therefore, it is difficult to provide high quality of education to the students. In this paper, simulation system is to develop the following. Collecting GPS and real-time information for aircraft, automobile $\grave{a}$implementing 3D simulation. Implementing current image of the aircraft or automobile in the screen by 3D real-time monitoring of training situation at the control center utilizing for training saving 3D video files analysis, evaluation on training after the end of the training.

A Study on the Correlation between MSC and major curriculum for Efficient Engineering Education (효율적인 공학 교육을 위한 MSC 교과목과 전공 교과목의 연관성에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this paper is to improve the curriculum efficiently and to raise the level of students's satisfaction by studying the correlation between MSC and major courses. For this, we compared the student's grades for those courses. Furthermore the level of satisfaction of the MSC subjects was surveyed. We found that one of dissatisfactions was due to the student's low recognition about the Accredited Program. So efforts to raise the student's satisfaction abouts the program should be done continuously and an in-depth study about MSC and major courses is necessary instead of just offering the required subjects.

  • In this paper, we present the results of educational innovation case study using U-Learning Box and Ubiquitous-based Test(UBT) system for 6 sample primary schools in Nepal. As Nepal is considered to be a developing country with electricity problem to the school, the U-Learning Box, consisting of a small and easy-to-use tablet PC for teacher and a small smart beam with its own battery was evaluated as the optimum solution to support continuous basic English and hygiene education for these schools. And UBT technology using tablet PC was used to evaluate and analyze basic English learning ability of the students, which helped us realized that it is necessary to improve the educational environment and develop suitable educational contents. We hope that the global educational innovation using U-Learning Box and UBT technology will become a successful model for global equality of educational opportunity project for developing countries including Nepal.

Design and implementation of an AI-based speed quiz content for social robots interacting with users (사람과 상호작용하는 소셜 로봇을 위한 인공지능 기반 스피드 퀴즈 콘텐츠의 설계와 구현)

  • In this paper, we propose a design and implementation method of speed quiz content that can be driven by a social robot capable of interacting with humans, and a method of developing an intelligent module necessary for implementation. In addition, we propose a method of implementing speed quiz content through the process of constructing a map by arranging and connecting intelligent module blocks. Recently, software education has become mandatory and interest in programming is increasing. However, programming is difficult for students without basic knowledge of programming languages to directly access, and interest in block-type programming platforms suitable for beginners is growing. The block-type programming platform used in this paper is a platform that supports immediate and intuitive programming by supporting interactions between humans and robots. In this paper, the intelligent module implemented for the speed quiz content was used by blocking it within a block-type programming platform. In order to implement the scenario of the speed quiz content proposed in this paper, we implement a total of three image-based artificial intelligence modules. In addition to the intelligent module, various functional blocks were placed to implement the speed quiz content. In this paper, we propose a method of designing a speed quiz content scenario and a method of implementing an intelligent module for speed quiz content.

The educational models using enhanced mathematics ICT in the Korean IT environments (21세기 선진형 ICT 수학 교육 방법론 모델)

  • Recently, many advanced countries have used original ICT tools in their educational courses. But Korea didn't have any effective origin ICT tools in our mathematical education, compared with other countries which have developed various tools, for examples, Web-Mathematica and HP Calculator. Although we have the advanced IT environment, the educational environments in mathematics using ICT seems to be not promising. In this paper, we suggest a new mathematics education tools in ICT and the internet environments in Korea, and a teaching and studyingmodel for the teachers, students and classrooms. It is based on the Sage-Math and RPG. Sage-Math which is the software based on the web and RPG(Random Problem Generator) will give a good answer for the future of Korean mathematics ICT education.

An Analysis on the Characteristics of the Information Science Gifted Students through Observational Evaluation (관찰평가를 통한 정보과학영재의 특성 분석)

  • This dissertation was aimed at finding an implication of selecting and educating the gifted of information science discovering features of gifted learner in the field of math and science and the gifted of information science through comparative analysis of observing evaluation for the gifted of information science. Subjects of the study are foundation course learners of University Science Education Institute for the Gifted in the field of physics, earth science, math, information science. We have compared the features of learners of each field through one-way ANOVA about an observing evaluation for one year. In consequence, information science learners showed mostly different features from physics and earth science learners in details of an attitude area and a problem solving area. And an analysis of each subject of information science learners showed that the test of attitude area in the fields of math and information was relatively superior to that of science. On this, the researcher concluded that there must be features of the gifted on information science and their difference from gifted learners in math and science was caused by learner levels and features of each field. Based on the result of this study, we expect that we can imply it to selecting and educating the gifted of information science.

A Study on e-PBL System for Improvement of Self-Directed Learning Ability (자기주도적 학습능력 향상을 위한 e-PBL 시스템 연구)

  • This research examines how PBL(Problem-based Learning; PBL) system affects to 'Self-directed learning ability', by developing and applying it to the participants of "Science Cyber Conference" - the web based on-line debating learning program - among those students of the Affiliated Institute of Science gifted education of K University, for 16weeks. With this, also the cognizance of learners for the PBL class process are looked into together. After conducting the program applied with the web-based PBL strategy, the participants 'Self-directed learning ability' showed the remarkable change statistically (p<.05). Especially it showed the meaningful changes in six sections (p<.05), among those subdivided seven sections of 'Self-directed learning ability', with the one exception, 'Self-confidence as a Learner'. They also showed the positive response to the class which adopted the web-based PBL strategy.

  • Currently a number of universities and other educational institutions in the e-learning education system being implemented. Also that there is a demand. However, existing e-learning system has many problems. First, the theory of how the university -centered education and training institutions to adopt e-learning system has become the biggest obstacle. In addition, students can not engage the problem of a one-way lecture. In this paper, the theory -oriented and practice to overcome the one-way river systems programming language will develop e-learning content. Using socket communication and multi-threaded server-side Web browser on the client side through the compiler without installing a separate application installation and environmental learning environment can be unrestricted. Hands- content programming language allows the learner to direct the client-side source code in a web browser by entering the lecture is leading the way. For learners to enter the source code compiled to run on the server side, the compiler provides the learner results. Hands- because the future e-learning content development in e-learning systems will be a major contribution to.
