  • KBANN (knowledge-based artificial neural network) combining the analytical learning and the inductive learning has been shown to be more effective than other machine learning models. However KBANN doesn't have the theory refinement ability because the topology of network can't be altered dynamically. Although TopGen was proposed to extend the ability of KABNN in this respect, it also had some defects. The algorithms which could solve this TopGen's defects, enabling the refinement of theory, by extending KBANN, are designed.

Effects of Flux Treatment on the Glass Forming Ability and Magnetic Properties of Fe-based Ternary Amorphous Alloys

  • A series of Fe-P-B and Fe-Si-B amorphous alloys with high Fe contents exceeding 90 wt.% was successfully prepared by combining flux treatment and melt-spinning technique. The effects of Fe content and the flux treatment on the thermal and magnetic properties of amorphous alloys were studied. The glass-forming ability and the thermal stability of amorphous ribbons can be improved by a flux treatment, revealing the effective removal of heterogeneous nucleation sites in the ribbons through the flux treatment. It was found that Fe-Si-B ribbons exhibit higher saturation magnetization levels than Fe-P-B ribbons.

  • To combine the science and technology creativity necessary in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, it is necessary to cultivate talents who can discover new knowledge and create new values by combining various knowledge with self-directed mathematical competencies. This research attempted to lay the foundation for the curriculum for fostering future creative convergence talent by preparing, executing, and reflecting on the learning plan after learners themselves understand their level and status through self-directed learning. Firstly, We would like to present a teaching-learning plan based on the essential capabilities of the future society, where the development of a curriculum based on mathematics curriculum and intelligent informatization are accelerated. Secondly, an educational design model system diagram was presented to strengthen the self-directed learning ability of mathematics subjects in the electronic engineering curriculum. Consequently, through a survey, we would like to propose the establishment of an educational system necessary for the 4th industry by analyzing learning ability through self-directed learning teaching methods of subjects related to mathematics, probability, and statistics.

Experimental investigating and machine learning prediction of GNP concentration on epoxy composites

  • We looked at how the damping qualities of epoxy composites changed when different amounts of graphite nanoplatelets (GNP) were added, from 0% to 6% by weight. A mix of free and forced vibration tests helped us find the key GNP content that makes the damper ability better the most. We also created a Representative Volume Element (RVE) model to guess how the alloys would behave mechanically and checked these models against testing data. An Artificial Neural Network (ANN) was also used to guess how these compounds would react to motion. With proper hyperparameter tweaking, the ANN model showed good correlation (R2=0.98) with actual data, indicating its ability to predict complex material behavior. Combining these methods shows how GNPs impact epoxy composite mechanical properties and how machine learning might improve material design. We show how adding GNPs to epoxy composites may considerably reduce vibration. These materials may be used in industries that value vibration damping.

  • The genetic variances and combinding ability of some useful characters were analyzd on sixty four combinations in the 8$\times$8 diallel cross using the four Japanese races(Jam 107, Jam 113, Jam 117 and Jam 119) and the four Chinese races(Jam 108, Jam 114, Jam 118 and Jam 120). The eight quantitative characters were the total larval stage period(TP), the fifth larval instar period(FP), the female cocoon total weight(FW), the male cocoon total weight(MW), the female cocoon layer weight(FL), the male cocoon layer weight(ML), the female cocoon layer ratio(FR), and the male cocoon layer ratio(MR). The results were as follows: The analysis of the genetic variance and the combining ability in the TP and the FP. In TP and FP, h2N was less than h2B. The GCA, SCA and RCA were at a high significant level. Hl/D and (Hl/D)1/2 ere large. The heterosis were small minus. E and D were large. The r was in the positive direction, because the recessive genes were mainly expressed as a short rearing periods. The regressions of the characters were passed below 0 point, because the characters in the TP and the FP were appeared overdominant. The order of the dominance in the TP of the parents were in the order of Jam 119>Jam 113>Jam 117>Jam 108>Jam 120>Jam 114>Jam 107>Jam 118, and that in the FP of the parents were followed in the orders of Jam 117>Jam 113>Jam 108>Jam 114>Jam 119>Jam 107>Jam 120>Jam 118. The analysis of the genetic variance and the combining ability of the FW and the MW. In the FW and the Mw, h2N was less the h2B. The GCA and SCA were large but RCA was little. Cognitive Ability in Midlife and Labor Market Participation Among Older Workers: Prospective Cohort Study With Register Follow-up

  • Background: The study aimed to determine the association of individual cognitive ability in late midlife with labor market participation among older workers. Methods: This prospective cohort study estimates the risk of long-term sickness absence, disability pension, early retirement, and unemployment from scores on the Intelligenz-Struktur-Test 2000R by combining data from 5076 workers from the Copenhagen Aging and Midlife Biobank with a register on social transfer payments. Analyses were stepwise adjusted for age, gender, physical and psychosocial work environment, health behaviors, occupational social class, education, and chronic diseases. Results: In the fully adjusted model, low cognitive ability (≥1 standard deviation below the mean for each gender) and high cognitive ability (≥1 standard deviation above the mean for each gender) were not associated with risk of any of the four labor market outcomes. Conclusion: Individual cognitive ability in late midlife was not associated with risk of long-term sickness absence, disability pension, early retirement, and unemployment in the fully adjusted model. Thus, no direct effect of individual cognitive ability in late midlife was observed on the risk of permanently or temporarily leaving the labor market.

A study on the development of fashion illustration course using contour drawing (콘투어 드로잉을 활용한 패션 일러스트레이션 교과 개발 연구)

  • This study has established a fashion illustration education plan using the contour drawing that fosters observational ability and enables creative drawing. This study developed two illustration curriculum proposals consisting of 15 weeks, combining literature and case studies. The researchers organized a step-by-step teaching plan that utilizes contour drawing according to the three stages of fashion illustration classes: foundation courses, general courses, and intensive courses. When the contour drawing is used at the beginning stage of the foundation courses of fashion illustration, it can be used as a technique to reduce the fear of students about practical skills, induce interest in illustration, and cultivate observation ability about objects. In general process, it is combined with various tools and coloring materials to strengthen expression power, and it is possible to produce detailed expressions and illustrations about human body and clothing. In intensive courses, it is expanded to the production of creative works with new aesthetics through digital techniques and mixed materials. As such, the contour drawing is expanded in various ways according to the learning contents and goals of each step, and is flexibly adjusted according to the learning content. Contour drawing has the effect of acquiring observation and expression ability, and it is analyzed as a technique that enables the production of creative illustration of students.

  • Our society has changed from an industrial society to a knowledge - based society, and the need for new knowledge creation activities through the convergence of various knowledge is emphasized. In accordance with these changes, universities aiming at nurturing human resources for society have sought new approaches and changes. The discussion of various curriculum for the future talent training in the university is aimed at the goal of developing problem solving ability irrespective of the subject of education or major. In this study, we tried to show that computational thinking ability can be improved by strengthening creative team activities by combining design thinking method in computer curriculum of general education course of university. To do this, we conducted a design thinking team project for students of computer general education course at G university in Gyeongnam province and conducted a survey. The results of the questionnaire were verified by statistical methods. The variables of this study satisfied both the validity and the reliability. Multiple regression analysis showed that knowledge sharing, team activity satisfaction, and design thinking project satisfaction factors all affect computing thinking ability.

Ability of non-destructive assay techniques to identify sophisticated material partial defects

  • This study explores the ability of non-destructive assay techniques to detect a partial material defect in which 100 g of plutonium are diverted from the center of a 1000 g can of PuO2 powder. Four safeguards measurements techniques: neutron multiplicity counting, calorimetry, gravimetry, and gamma ray spectroscopy are used in an attempt to detect the defect. Several materials are added to the partial defect PuO2 can to replicate signatures of the diverted material. 252Cf is used to compensate for the doubles neutron counts, 241Am is used to compensate for the decay heat, and aluminum is used to compensate for the weight. Although, the doubles and triples difference before and after diversion are statistically indistinguishable with the AWCC in fast and thermal mode, the difference in the singles counts are statistically detectable in both modes. The relatively short half-life of 252Cf leads to a decrease (three sigma uncertainty) in the doubles neutron counts after 161 days. Combining this with the precise quantity of 241Am needed (10.7 g) to mimic the heat signature and the extreme precision in 252Cf mass needed to defeat neutron multiplicity measurements gives reassurance in the International Atomic Energy Agency's ability to detect partial material defects.

The Fundamental Study on Reusing Method of Ready-Mixed Concrete Sludge as Cement Binder (시멘트계 결합재로서 레미콘 슬러지의 재활용 방안에 관한 기초적 연구)

  • This study deals with the Hydrated Ability of the Ready-Mixed Concrete's Sludge which is the recycling technology of that sludge. The experiment gathers sludge from Ready-mixed factory. shatters these into pieces in dry condition and understands the differences between current using Portland cement. And then. this examines the possibility of the recycle as a bonding agent through the Compressive Strength and considers the recovery of the hydration. This experiment concludes the same Chemical Composition with the normal Portland cement. while. under the appropriate procedure in hydration recovery. this sludge can be used as the bonding agent in cement. The chemical composition of solid Remicon sludge shows that it has 1.8 times $SiO_2$ than the normal Portland cement. meaning lots of aggregate in Remicon sludge. Also. the specific gravity of Remicon sluge increases with the rise of Baking Temperature and has no difference between 2.77 and 2.94. The mortar flow used for combining the baking material of Remicon sludge does was not changed and is the highest between $750^{\circ}C{\cdot}120min\;and\;800^{\circ}C{\cdot}180min$. Additionally. the Compressive Strength increases with the age, certifying the same Hydrated Ability like cement and the best condition for hydration is $750^{\circ}C{\cdot}120min.$
