Bilateral traumatic carotid-cavernous fistulae (TCCFs) is rarely encountered neurovascular disease. For treatment of TCCF, detachable balloons have been widely used. Nowadays, transarterial and/or transvenous coil embolization with placement of covered stents is adopted as another treatment method. We experienced a patient with a bilateral TCCFs who was successfully treated with covered stents. However, cerebral hemorrhage occurred in the bed of previous infarction one day after treatment. Hyperperfusion syndrome was considered as a possible cause of the hemorrhage, so that barbiturate coma therapy was started and progression of hemorrhage was stopped. We emphasize that cerebral hyperperfusion hemorrhage can occur even after successful endovascular treatment of TCCF.

망 자원의 효율적인 사용, 관리 및 기존의 망을 흡수 통합하기 위해서 차세대통합네트워크(NGcN), ALL­IP 망으로 망 진화가 이루어지고 있으며, 이에 따라 동기식 CDMA2000 과 비동기식 WCDMA의 이동 통신망도 통합 및 연동에 대한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 그리고, 망 개방화에 대한 분위기도 고조되는 상황에서 CDMA2000, WCDMA등과 같은 서로 다른 무선 액세스 망에서 동일한 게이트웨이를 통하여 무선인터넷 서비스를 제공하려는 움직임도 있다. 본 논문에서는 망 진화에 따른 망통합 및 연동과 망 개방에 따른 COMA200 과 WCDMA 의 서로 다른 무선인터넷 액세스를 동시에 지원하기 위한 시스템인 A­MiDAS(Advanced Mobile internet Data Access System)에 대해서 소개하고, A­MiDAS 내의 CDMA2000 과 WCDMA 를 수용하기 위해서 설계 및 개발된 MNAB(Mobile Network Access Board)에 대해서 기술한다.

Cardiopulmonary arrest has long been accepted as an unquestionable definition of death. An advent of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and artificial ventilation along with the development of organ transplantation has prompted the emergence of the concept of brain death. The criteria for brain death are based mainly on the clinical examination of coma, apnea and total loss of brain stem function. Although organ transplantation by donor brain death has increased in Korea over recent years, there is still a substantial shortage of donor organs compared to the demand. Improvement of government policies and changes of social culture for organ donation are needed for the activation of organ transplantation by donor brain death. Pediatricians have an important role for the search of potential donors in cases of brain death and optimal medical care for successful organ transplantation.

For high density optical storage, there should be a high NA objective lens and a shorter wavelength laser diode. To secure the disc tilt margin related to the coma aberration, moreover, it's difficult to apply the tilt compensation mechanism into the portable PC. In this paper, we proposed the 3-axis asymmetry pickup actuator with high efficiency symmetric magnetic circuit, which consisted of the top cover type inner yoke for high magnetic flux density, the coil stack unit for the 3-axis independent operation and vertically polarized magnets. This newly suggested actuator features DVD-RAM recording, we achieved the high focus & track AC sensitivity and the greatly stabilized system.

Ethylene glycol was given orally in 6 crossbred male cow calves @ 12 ml/kg b wt for 2 days continuously to develop acute nephrotoxicity and monitor blood chemicals profile in affected calves. Progressive depression, hypersalivation, ataxia, incoordination, staggering gait, grinding of teeth, recumbency, coma, convulsions and death were prominent symptoms in affected calves. Respiration and pulse rates were increased whereas body temperature and rumen movements were low. Haematological investigations revealed increase in total erythrocyte count, platelets count and packed cell volume till death and total leukocyte count up to day 3 which decreased on day 4 and 5. These calves revealed azotaemia, reduction in calcium, chloride and potassium and rise in sodium and AST, ALT and alkaline phosphatase enzymes activity.

본 논문은 밀리미터파 페이딩 채널에서 차세대 초고속 무선통신 시스템의 전파 전파 특성에 대해 제안한다. 도플러 천이와 레일리 페이딩을 동시에 고려하기 위해서 Jakes 모델의 페이딩 시뮬레이터를 구현하고 차세대 무선통신 시스템의 성능을 분석하였다. 또한 밀리미터파 페이딩 채널에서 DS-CDMA 시스템의 오율 특성을 분석하고 부호화 기법과 다이버시티기법에 의해 시스템의 성능이 향상됨을 확인 하였다.

Although the incidence of unilateral abducens nerve palsy has been reported to be as high as 1% to 2.7% of head trauma cases, bilateral abducens nerve palsy following trauma is extremely rare. In this report, we present the case of a patient who developed a bilateral abducens nerve palsy and hypoglossal nerve palsy 3 days after suffering head trauma. He had a Glasgow Coma Score (GCS) of 15 points. Computed tomography (CT) images demonstrated clivus epidural hematoma and subarachnoid hemorrhage on the basal cistern. Herein, we discuss the possible mechanisms of these nerve palsies and its management.

무선 이동 네트워크 환경을 이용하여 특정교역에 산재해 있는 노상 및 노외 유·무료 주자창의 무인 요금징수장비를 실 시간으로 제어·관리하여 이용자에게 휴대용 컴퓨터 핀 셀룰러폰을 통해 정보를 제공할 수 있는 주차관리시스템을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 각 요금징수장비는 현재 상용화되어 있는 각 통신사의 PCS 또는 Cellular Phone의 COMA SMS(Code Division Multiple Access Short Message Service)를 이용하여 장비의 상태 및 제어 기법을 제안하였으며, 이 경우 추가적인 무선망 관리장비가 필요 없이 mobile phone만을 이용하기 때문에 아직 일반화되지 않은 고비용의 무선패킷통신을 대신할 수 있어 향후 S/W 교체만으로 전환 가능하여 보다 유용한 기법이 될 것으로 기대 된다.

Objective: This study was performed to evaluate the usefulness of early operation in children with traumatic subdural hygroma. Methods: The subjects were nine patients (Glasgow coma scale (GCS) score was below 10 and age was below 10 years old) who developed subdural hygroma after trauma between January 2000 to December 2002. Subduroperitoneal shunt was performed in one group and not performed in the other group. We analyzed the GCS score on admission and at 1 year after operation. Overall clinical results were evaluated retrospectively. Results: Patients who underwent operation exhibited higher GCS scores at 1 year after trauma compared to those in the patients who were treated by conservative therapy(p<0.05). Conclusion: The early operation could be an effective treatment to children with subdural hygroma who showed delayed improvement of consciousness and to patients with hygroma that didn't decrease or was above moderate amount.

In this study, the efficient channel coding method combined with CS-ACELP is proposed. The same convolutional coder and Viterbi decoder of COMA mobile communication system is used as channel coder. To make the best available use of limited channel coding redundancy, unequal error protection of punctured convolutional coder is used for variable reate allocation. But, the overall code rate is given by 2. The performance of proposed coder is analyzed and simulated in a Rayleigh fading channel. Experimental results show that the objective and subjective speech quality of variable rate channel coding methods are superior to those of non-variable channel coding method.
