  • The purpose of present study is to find the structures physical properties and their inter-relations in the system of (60-x) PbO.xMO.$40B_2O_3$ glasses where MO represents for ZnO and CdO. The experiments such as differential thermal analysis infrared spectral analysis X-ray diffraction analysis density and thermal expansion measurements have been done. From infrared spectral analysis the structural units of glasses and the corresponding crystallized glasses were com-posed of $BO_3$ triangles and $BO_4$ tetrahedra. These basic units found in $PbO-B_2O_3$ binary glass system did not charge even though the divalent metallic oxides were substituted for PbO. The structures of these ternary glasses were more coalescenced than $PbO-B_2O_3$ binary glass system. This fact was supported bydecrease in thermal expansion coeffici-ent and molar volume with substitution of divalent metallic oxide for PbO. Crystalline phases obtained from the heat treatment of the $PbO-ZnO-B_2O_3$ glasses were 4PbO.2ZnO.$5B_2O_3$ PbO.2ZnO.$B_2O_3$ and unknown phases.

  • Early maturing hybrids(Comet 80, Comet 85 and Linda) and mid-late maturing hybrid (Suwon 19) were grown at Suwon to study the influence of maturity, plant population, and sowing date (45, 55, and 65 days delayed from the recommended sowing date of Suwon 19) on the dry matter yields, percentage ears and TDN yields. Com was planted at the density of 60 x 20, 50 x 20 and 40 x 20 em. Dry matter yields were not significantly different between the early and mid-late maturing hybrids in the delayed sowing time, but significantly higher in 20 x 50cm of planting density in early maturing hybrids. As sowing was delayed to Jun. 22 ear content decreased from 40.3% (early maturing hybrid) to 6.7% (Suwon 19). This resulted in significantly 24.1% higher TDN yield in Comet 85 than in Suwon 19.

  • The present study is aimed to investigate experimentally on the hydrodynamic behaviours of air ~ pulverized coal flow in rectangular combustor with cavity. Mean velocity, density and tur¬bulent properties of pulverized coal in rectangular entrained flow combustor were measured by PDA. Experimental results show that the flow reattachment point at the lower plane in the com¬buster chamber has been developed near X/D= 15. The similarities at each section are found after the flow reattachment point. The maximum values of turbulent intensity and Reynolds shear stress have been shown near Y/D=6, which is higher than centerline. The maximum density of the pulverized coal sited in the range ofY/D=6~8.

  • In this study, molybdenum thin films were etched with Cl\ulcorner/(Cl\ulcorner+SF\ulcorner) gas mixing ratio in an magneti-cally enhanced reactive ion etching(MERIE) by the etching parameters such as rf power of 250 watts, chamber pressure of 100 mTorr and B-field of 30 gauss. The etch rate was 150nm/min under Cl\ulcorner/(Cl\ulcorner+SF\ulcorner) gas mixing ratio of 0.25. At this time, the selectivity of Mo to SiO\ulcorner, photoresist were respectively 0.94, 0.05. The surface reaction of the etched Mo thin films was investigated with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS). It was analyzed that Mo peaks was mainly observed in Mo-O bonds formed MoO\ulcorner compounds and F was detected in Mo-F and O-F bonds. Cl peaks were detected by the peak of Cl 2p\ulcorner in Cl-Mo bonds of MoCl\ulcorner or MoO\ulcornerCl\ulcorner formulas. Almost all of both Cl and S atoms had been com-bined with Mo, respectively.

  • The flexibility of content addressable mem-ory (CAM) can greatly be extended through the use of trits (ternary digits) Trits consist of binary logical values “0” and “1” with addition of “x” (“dont’t care”). The “dont’t care“is extremely useful for providing com- pact representation of sets of bit strings. In this paper, we propose a new ternary CAM with Hamming distance search functions. Each memory cell in the CAM consists of a pair of lambda diodes which can store trits, namely, a logical “0”, “1” and “x” (“dont’t care“). The CAM can compare stored data and an input data in parallel, and find stored data with Hamming distance within a certain range (“near match“). Also, the interrogation characteristics of the ternary CAM are analyzed in detail. Furthermore, the results obtained these analyses are fully confirmed by simulation using the circuit analysis program HSPICE.

  • An electron probe X-ray microanalyzer (EPMA) is an essential tool for studying chemical composition distribution in the microstructure. Quantifying chemical composition using standard specimens is commonly used to determine the composition of individual phases. However, the local difference in chemical composition in the standard specimens brings the deviation of the quantified composition from the actual one. This study introduces how to overcome the error of quantification in EPMA in the practical aspect. The obtained results are applied to evaluate the chemical com position of retained austenite in multi-phase steel. Film-type austenite shows higher carbon content than blocky-type one. The measured carbon contents of the retained austenite show good coherency with the calculated value from the X-ray diffraction.

  • The smoke removal rate from a room with an opening was investigated for different smoke control systems by using the large eddy simulation turbulence model of the Fire Dynamics Simulator. The decreasing rate of the particles randomly distributed in the 2m X 2m X 2.4m room was com-pared for the ventilation system, pressurization system and extraction system, and for the air flowrate of the ventilation system. Difference in the smoke removal rate among the three smoke control systems was small when the opening was closed. The pressurization system showed less smoke removal rate than the other two systems when the opening existed, and hence is not recommended for subway stations with large openings. It was also shown that a less flowrate in the ventilation system leads to a much longer smoke removal time.

  • This study were obtained elapsed time phase-by-phases, displacement, user angle, velocity and angular velocity to analyse kinematically contributing factors at impact of forehand drive motion, on targeting three male players. The results of the study were presented as follows; In the forehand drive swing, the elapsed time by phases was a total of .52 seconds: .30 seconds from backswing to impact and .22 seconds from impact to follow-through, Considering the mean change in locations of COM of each(part$\rightarrow$body segment) at impact, racket head, left shoulder, right wrist and left hip, the left-right directions(X-axis) were showm to be each $.61{\pm}.03$, $1.19{\pm}.08$, $.66{\pm}.03$, $.94{\pm}.06$, and $.45{\pm}.03m$. The displacement differences of COM of each body segment were shown to be -.57, -.05, -.33, and .16m. For the vertical direction(Z-axis), the center of mass was lowest at impact and highest at E3. For the displacement of the right wrist on the left hip, the right wrist moved to .82m to the lower direction without change in the locations of the hip from E1 from E2. When the left hip moved .02m from E2 to E3, the right wrist moved .7m in the upper direction. In respect to the velocity of each body segment, the hip and the shoulder joint accelerated and then the wrist followed. Then the right wrists of all the subjects and their racket heads showed maximum speed, and an effective swing was observed. At the angle of each part, the angle of the right wrist was the smallest at the backswing and the largest at the moment of the impact. Then it increased gradually in the follow-through section. In respect of angular velocity for subject A, the hip moved and the largest change occurred. Immediately before the impact, the subject made a swing using his right wrist, his hip, and the shoulder joint, showing the maximum value, which was judged to be effective.

  • Using agar and waxy com starch as the wall material, we could encapsulate the purified fish oil. Firstly, we have developed a simple and sensitive method for the quantitative analysis of the microencapsulation yield using 5% cupric acetate pyridine solution. Then, the optimum conditions such as the ratio of [core material] to [wall material]$(X_1)$, the temperature of dispersion fluid$(X_2)$, and the emulsifier concentration$(X_3)$ for the microencapsulation process were determined by using response surface methodology(RSM). The regression model equation for the yield of microencapsulation(Y, %) of purified fish oil upon three kinds of independent variables could be predicted as follows; Y = 100.138621-0.735000$(X_1)$+0.840000$(X_1)(X_2)$+0.817500$(X_1)(X_3)$-0.852500$(X_2)(X_3)$. And the optimum conditions for the microencapsulation of the purified fish oil were the ratio of [core material] to [wall material] of 4.9 : 5.1(w/w), the emulsifier concentration of 0.48%, and dispersion fluid temperature of $19.4^{\circ}C$. The microcapsules containing the purified fish oil showed the highest storage stability at pH 7.0 and $20{\sim}25^{\circ}C$.
