컬러인쇄공정에 대한 룩업테이블의 적용방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Application Method of Look-up Table to Color Printing Process)

  • Recently, as the prepress mainstream is changed to the digital workflow, various digital proofing systems such as high price dye sublimation printers and low price ink jet printers are widely used in printing industry. However, most of the digital proofing devices have lower resolutions than analog proofing systems and differ with actual color presses in the color gamuts. Therefore, proper color compensations are needed for digital color proofing in order to match color between the proofs and the press sheets. In this paper, we used 3-dimensional look-up table(LUT) and tetrahedral interpolation method for the color space conversion between the device independent color space(CIEXYZ or Lab) and the device dependent color space(CMY) to reduce the color differences between the original copy and digital color proofs and the press sheets.

색역 사상과 색공간 변환을 위한 칼라 참조표 설계 (Color Look-Up Table Design for Gamut Mapping and Color Space Conversion)

  • 본 논문에서는 복잡한 연산을 거치지 않고 칼라 참조표만으로 색역 사상과 색공간 변환을 동시에 처리하는 칼라 참조표를 설계하였다. 스캐너와 프린터의 색역을 구성하는 참조표를 만들고 스캐너에서 계산된 색역 데이터를 색역 확장하여 칼라 참조표의 입력 CIEL/sup */a/sup */b/sup */ 값으로 사용한다. 칼라 참조표 생성을 위한 입력 CIEL/sup */a/sup */b/sup */ 값들은 가변 다중 닻점 색역 사상 방법을 사용하여 색역 사상된 CMY 값으로 계산된다. 제안한 칼라 참조표는 칼라 운영 시스템에 적용하여 스캐너 RGB 입력영상을 다항 회귀 방정식을 이용하여 CIEL/sup */a/sup */b/sup */ 색공간으로 변환한 후에 제안한 칼라 참조표를 이용하여 색역 사상과 동시에 색공간 변환을 처리하게 된다. 실험에서는 제안한 방법이 직접 계산에 의한 색역 사상 방법에 비해서 색차는 유사하면서 연상의 복잡도는 줄이는 결과를 얻었다.

  • In this paper, we proposed a reduced memory overdrive architecture. Proposed overdrive architecture consists of 2D-DWT filter, BLI and Color Conversion block. For Frame Memory reduction we eliminated HH data in DWT-IDWT process and converted color space RGB into YCbCr. Consequently, we reduced Frame Memory about 50%.

  • Digital watermarking is a technical solution to the copyright problem and is a necessary technique to protect copyright of multimedia content. Recently, there are many digital watermarking methods that deal in grey scale still images. However, only a few researchers are interested in digital watermarking fro video and color images. In this paper, we focus on digital watermarking for color images. At first, in order to embed the watermark signal in color image, we converted RGB color space to YCbCr color space which is a world-wide digital component video standard. In addition, we adopted the acceptable degree of color difference in order to keep the invisibility.

전자출판에서 입.출력 장치의 컬러 관리에 관한 연구 (II) (A Study on Color Management of Input and Output Device in Electronic Publishing (II))

  • The input and output device requires precise color representation and CMS (Color Management System) because of the increasing number of ways to apply the digital image into electronic publishing. However, there are slight differences in the device dependent color signal among the input and output devices. Also, because of the non-linear conversion of the input signal value to the output signal value, there are color differences between the original copy and the output copy. It seems necessary for device-dependent color information values to change into device-independent color information values. When creating an original copy through electronic publishing, there should be color management with the input and output devices. From the devices' three phases of calibration, characterization and color conversion, the device-dependent color should undergo a color transformation into a device-independent color. In this paper, an experiment was done where the input device used the linear multiple regression and the sRGB color space to perform a color transformation. The output device used the GOG, GOGO and sRGB for the color transformation. After undergoing a color transformation in the input and output devices, the best results were created when the original target underwent a color transformation by the scanner and digital camera input device by the linear multiple regression, and the LCD output device underwent a color transformation by the GOG model.

  • Stereoscopic conversion has been an important and challenging issue for many 3-D video applications. Usually, there are two different stereoscopic conversion approaches, i.e., image motion-based conversion that uses motion information and object-based conversion that partitions an image into moving or static foreground object(s) and background and then converts the foreground in a stereoscopic object. As well, since the input sequence is MPEG-1/2 compressed video, motion data stored in compressed bitstream are often unreliable and thus the image motion-based conversion might fail. To solve this problem, we present the utilization of key-motion that has the better accuracy of estimated or extracted motion information. To deal with diverse motion types, a transform space produced from motion vectors and color differences is introduced. A key-motion is determined from the transform space and its associated stereoscopic image is generated. Experimental results validate effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method.

한국 오프셋 인쇄산업에 적합한 CMS 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Color Proofing CMS Development for the KOREA Offset Printing Industry)

  • The CMS(color management system) software was to enable consistent color reproduction from original to reproduction. The CMS was to create RGB monitor and printer characterization profiles and then use the profiles for device independent color transformation. The implemented CMM(color management module) used the CIELAB color space for the profile connection. Various monitor characterization model was evaluated for proper color transformation. To construct output device profile, SLI(sequential linear interpolation) method was used for the color conversion from CMYK device color to device independent CIELAB color space and tetrahedral interpolation method was used for backward transformation. UCR(under color removal) based black generation algorithm was used to construct CIELAB to CMYK LUT(lookup table). When transforming the CIE Lab colour space to CMYK, it was possible to involve the gray revision method regularized in the brightness into colour transformation process and optimize the colour transformation by black generation method based on UCR technique. For soft copy colour proofing, evaluating several monitor specialism methods showed that LUT algorithm was useful. And it was possible to simplify colour gamut mapping by constructing both the look-up table and the colour gamut mapping algorithm to a reference table.

TV컬러 배경영상에서 얼굴영역 검출 알고리즘 (Algorithm of Face Region Detection in the TV Color Background Image)

  • 본 논문에서는 텔레비전 칼라영상에서 사람의 피부색을 기반으로 얼굴영역을 검출하는 방법을 제안하였다. 제안된 방법은 피부색을 샘플링하여 기준영상으로 놓고, 텔레비전 영상의 화소와 기준영상의 화소 사이의 유클리디안(Euclidean) 거리를 이용하여 얼굴후보 영역결정을 하였다. 얼굴 후보영역에서 눈 검출은 RGB 칼라를 CMY칼라 모델로 변환 하여 Y와 C 사이의 색차성분에 대한 평균값과 표준 편차를 이용하여 검출 하였다. 입술 영역은 RGB 칼라모델에서 YIQ 칼라 공간으로 변환 하여 Q 요소로 입술 영상을 검출 하였다. 얼굴영역 검출은 눈 영상과 입술 영상을 논리연산 하여 지식 기반으로 결정 하였다. 제안된 방법의 타당성을 입증하기 위하여 텔레비전 칼라영상에서 입력받은 정면 칼라 영상으로 실험한 결과, 얼굴영역 검출이 얼굴의 위치와 크기에 관계없이 검출됨을 보였다.

A New Controller for Improvement of Response Time by Data Compression Using Color Space Conversion

  • In recent years, we use overdriving scheme to improve the response time of the liquid crystal. Since conventional overdriving scheme uses memory to perform ideal processing, it is desired to reduce system cost by decreasing the data stored in these SDRAMs. As a general compression method, quantization, sub-sampling and Block Truncation Coding ( BTC ) are used, which process data in block base and cause block effect. So we proposed new data compression method by color space conversion. Because this method compresses luminance and chrominance signal by different ratio, it can efficiently reduce error of block effect in decompression image.

  • 모바일 CPU의 성능이 향상됨에 따라 전용 하드웨어의 필요성이 줄어 들고 있다. 그러나 아직까지 모바일 CPU의 성능은 한계가 있다. 이러한 제약 조건을 병렬처리와 실수 연산이 뛰어난 GP-GPU(General-Purpose computing on Graphics Processing Units)를 이용함으로써 다른 전용 하드웨어의 추가 없이 성능을 향상 시킬 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 모바일 환경에 적합하게 설계된 GP-GPU를 이용하여 H.264 디코더의 Inverse Quantization, Inverse DCT, Color Space Conversion 모듈을 구현하였다. G-PGPU를 이용한 전체 시스템 동작 시 40%의 성능 향상이 있었다.
