This thesis aims to examine the formation, and the religious meaning and symbolism of Beob-Lak, which is attached to the preacher's clothing as a full dress of Won-Buddhism, which, as a new religion, was originated in Korea's historical foundation in 1916. In addition, it tries to provide the basic data for the study on Korean religious costume by examining Beob-Lak in the context of social atmosphere of Korea, which has accepted various religions. As a result, I found that Beob-Lak was originated from the different colored lines of the early Japanese Buddhist religious costume and it employed rochza as an independent component, but that the present protocol of Beob-Lak was completed by the first Jongbeobsa Jeongsan Jongsa in the late 1950s and all the religious workers have put it on with the religious costume in great worships since the early 1980s. Beob-Lak of Won-Buddhism, which employs Ilwonsang Beobsinbul as the symbol of its religious doctrine, symbolizes the succession of Beob and represents the will to repay the teacher's favors to hand down the great truth. At the center, Ilwonsan(one round shape) is the symbol of the innate place for everything in the universe, and its yellow color symbolizes the highest nobleness. I expect to see following researches which deal with the costume of Won-Buddhism from various views on the basis of this study on the formation and development of Beob-Lak, which is the symbol of formal full dress of Won-Buddhism as Korea-style new religion created over 90 years ago.

Garbage collection in the CLDC typically employs a stop-the-world GC algorithm which is performing a complete garbage collection when needed. This technique is unsuitable for the interactive Java embedded system because this can lead to long and unpredictable delays. In this paper, We present a garbage collection algorithm which reduces the average delay time and supports the interactive environment. Our garbage collector is composed of the allocator and the collector. The allocator determines the allocation position of free-list according to object size, and the collector uses an incremental mark-sweep algorithm. The garbage collector is called periodically by the thread scheduling policy and the allocator allocates the objects of marked state during collection cycle. Also, we introduce a color toggle mechanism that changes the meaning of the bit patterns at the end of the collection cycle. We compared the performance of our implementation with stop-the-world mark-sweep GC. The experimental results show that our algorithm reduces the average delay time and that it provides uniformly low response times.

BACGROUND: To examine effect of omahwan(烏麻丸)-赤何首烏(Polygonum multiflorum THUNB.), 白何首烏(Cynanchum wilfordii H.), 黑芝流(Sesamum indicum L.)-on the aged human immune system a series of humoral immunological parameters was compared in aged female (age 60-70 years) before and after administration of omahwan(烏麻丸). METHODS: Peripheral blood was obtained from fifteen healthy young (age 20-29, mean=66.3) female volunteers. B cell, T cell(T cells, T helper, and T suppressor/ cytotoxic) subsets was examined with specific monoclonal antibodies and isotype controls, using dural color flow cytometer IL-2 was examined with ELISA kit RESULT: By comparing the immune characteristics of the younger and elder groups the total ratio of T-cell, CD8 T-cell and quantify of IL-2 was significantly lower while CD4/CDB ratio was considerably greater in the elder group. ( p(0.05, student t-test) After giving Omahwan for 30 days to the elder group, by comparing the ratio before and after Prescription the total T cell and CD8 T cell ratio was considerably greater after prescription (p(0.05, Paired t-test) The quantity of IL-2 tended to increase after prescription but has no statistical meaning. CONCLUSION: The results indicate that administration of Omahwan(烏麻丸) differentially affects various aspects of the immune system in aged human.

The enlarge the range of internet users require user centered design method what understanding of cognitive faculties about users by different age groups. This study aims at analyzing cognitive faculties about visual information on web interface by different age groups, presenting visual perception cognitive process model as an evaluation model and proposing an effective web interface design guideline, On the basis of analyzing cognitive faculties verified what each detail property of visual perception cognitive process model as form, color, space, movement and physiological, physical cognitive faculties had have individual cognitive faculties. As the result visual perception cognitive process model suggested in this study can be used as an evaluation model of web interface and users' cognitive faculties analyzed in visual perception measurement by different age groups can be applied as a web interface design guideline. In addition, this study has a meaning in that it makes a chance to extend a web designer's roles and establish a direction of future research by usability of different age groups.

When it comes to the paintings in Joseon Dynasty, landscape and a genre paintings were popular but it was Minhwa that people of every dass loved. Minhwa contained not only true meaning of a picture, but also it was simple and straighforwardly depicted. Among them, paintings in books belonging to the Joseon Dynasty (hereinafter called Checkgeori paintings) describe a small universe in which people live harmoniously in nature on the basis of a Confucian society. In addition, it shows modern philosophy in paintings and makes a feature of human life. In this paper, 'Ssangpok Checkgeori 'in Checkgeori paintings illustrates the relationships between things such as color, arrangement, place and direction. They have outstanding features such as the direction of things in composition, multiple vanishing points, a folding screen constituent and movement of viewpoints. Therefore, we come to know the painting method of 'Ssangpok Checkgeori' can be applied to modern paintings.

Advertisement for one type of product competes against another type using different advertising strategies. It is important to know which factors influence people's perception of the message within the advertisement and their formation of attitudes towards the advertisement. Using multidimensional scaling, this study investigated what main factors were important when people perceive beverage advertisements on TV. A positioning map was constructed based on similarity ratings of 14 drink advertisements. We examined the meaning of the three dimensions of the positioning map by asking a different group of participants to rate on components of attention, attitudes toward advertisements and products, and intention to purchase the product in each advertisement. It was found that three dimensions in the map was attention to content, color, and motion respectively. More importantly, the attentional component to content was related to the attitude of affection and action toward a beverage introduced in advertisement. These results suggest that content-based attention in advertisements induces a positive attitude toward the advertisements.

A particular type of ginseng that grows in mountainous regions of Korea is known as Sansam, a term meaning literally mountain grown ginseng. Sansam has recently gained a reputation among some Korean people who believe its health benefits are superior to that of other types of ginseng. Misuse of Sansam has resulted from misinformation that has circulated about the health benefits of its use. Due to insufficient study and research, Korean Oriental Medicine academia does not presently have enough credible information about Sansam to properly educate the public in its use. However, we do have a responsibility to perform adequate study and research so that correct information may be provided. To date, only cursory investigation of the physical characteristics of the Sansam plant have been conducted. This limited investigation was performed in July 2002, at Sobaek Mountain. The branches, leaves, stems, peduncles, fruits, and roots (head, main and fine roots) were observed. The fine roots grew and spread in a large area around the main roots so that harvesting the plants required digging out the soil a considerable distance from the main roots. The plants grew in a northwesterly direction, with a gradient of 40 degrees. They had four branches. Three of the branches had six leaves, while one had five leaves. Each plant had 40 fruits. The roots of the plants grew in a shape similar the Chinese character for mountain. The roots were milky in color. The average weight of the plants was 42.5 grams.

In the cultural realm of Hinduism centering around India, traditional costumes such as Sari, and Dhoti are worn up to date under the influence of religious faith, tradition, and fundamentalism. The purpose of this study is to clarify the religious meaning of unstitched traditional Indian costume and inquire into the figurative beauty of it. This study revolved around India, and the aesthetic feature affected by hinduism was examined based on the literature references and the figurative feature and aesthetic value of unstitched costume were analyzed. The most important feature of Indian costume is the unstitched costume without joining pieces of cloth by using a needle and thread, symbolizing the purity based on the cosmology of Hindu. In the unstitched costume of India, natural drapery that is the large cloth, slipped or tied on body, wrapping it affluently, is emphasized. Unstitched costume of India, based on cosmology of Hindu and the concept of purity, is still broadly worn by people under the influence of fundamentalism and conservative atmosphere. Religious idea is expressed and a beauty of concealment, emphasizing the chastity, is shown in the unstitched costume of India, while a beauty of nature is distinctively revealed in the non-structural and asymmetric drapery costume due to the unique wearing style. In addition, 'A beauty of symbolism' appears in the wearing method, color, the part of wearing, and ornament. Religion has affected overall culture that is inclusive art, aesthetics, and social structure and has contributed to the formulation of costume style. Unstitched costume of India is the unique tradition of India and identity, based on the religious idea.

Recently, the occurrence and death rates of cancer have increased rapidly. In oriental medicine, the tongue gives some kind of special physiological information on human body. Oriental medical doctors have used information about the color, degree of wetness and shape of the patient's tongue to determine patient's disease and body condition. This fact leads us that the tongue image is one of the most important clinical data for helping doctor's decision making. It also has significant meaning to cancer patients related with traditional theory of oriental medicine. In diagnosis and treatment of cancer, tongue diagnosis can give some prognosis and change o cancer. It also detect the sign of early stage cancer, but it cannot diagnose the kind of cancer and/or benign or malignant. Nowadays BioTechnology(BT) has developed rapidly, but there are a lot of limits(economy, accuracy, clinical significance, etc). Tongue diagnosis is very economic and practical way of diagnose and has a lot of possibility of development. The need for doctors and it also helps the development of tongue diagnosis related with cancer.
