  • As the interest of deep learning, techniques to control the color of images in image processing field are evolving together. However, there is no clear standard for color, and it is not easy to find a way to represent only the color itself like the color-palette. In this paper, we propose a novel color palette extraction system by chroma fine-tuning with reinforcement learning. It helps to recognize the color combination to represent an input image. First, we use RGBY images to create feature maps by transferring the backbone network with well-trained model-weight which is verified at super resolution convolutional neural networks. Second, feature maps are trained to 3 fully connected layers for the color-palette generation with a generative adversarial network (GAN). Third, we use the reinforcement learning method which only changes chroma information of the GAN-output by slightly moving each Y component of YCbCr color gamut of pixel values up and down. The proposed method outperforms existing color palette extraction methods as given the accuracy of 0.9140.

  • This research focused on the effects of adding Hizikia fusiforme to Jeolpyun. We were able to demonstrate in this study that Jeolpyun after the addition of Hizikia fusiforme had the potential to become a functional food. Jeolpyun with 0, 2, 4, 6, and 8% of Hizikia fusiforme was analyzed by water content, color, sensory and textural characteristics immediately after production and one day later. The five different types of Jeolpyun did not show any significant differences in water content. However, all the Jeolpyun with Hizikia fusiforme showed slightly higher water retention ratio than the control after storage. As the result of Hunter's color values, lightness decreased significantly as the amount of Hizikia fusiforme increased. Redness increased in the Jeolpyun with Hizikia fusiforme compared with the control. Yellowness was highest in the Jeolpyun with 2% of Hizikia fusiforme and decreased with an increase in its content. In the textural analysis, hardness, chewiness, adhesiveness and gumminess of Jeolpyun with 2% and 4% of Hizikia fusiforme were similar to those of the control, whereas springiness of Jeolpyun with 2%, 4% and 6% of Hizikia fusiforme were similar to that of the control group. Cohesiveness significantly decreased as the amount of Hizikia fusiforme increased. When the Jeolpyun was preserved for one day, all five Jeolpyun showed significant increases in hardness, gumminess and chewiness. However, their adhesiveness significantly decreased. Cohesiveness decreased in all Jeolpyun except for the 8% Jeolpyun. In sensory evaluation, color and aroma became stronger as the content of Hijikia fuziforme increased, and 2% Jeolpyun showed similar hardness with the control. Jeolpyun with Hijikia fuziforme showed no difference in cohesiveness with the control, but the adhesiveness showed a little increase when compared to the control. The overall acceptability of 2% Jeolpyun showed slightly higher than control. After one day of storage, Jeolpyun with 2% of Hijikia fuziforme also showed the highest overall acceptability. And the overall acceptability showed the biggest decrease in the control group. Overall acceptability showed strong negative correlation with color, aroma and hardness, and showed strong positive correlation with cohesiveness and adhesiveness. After one day of storage, overall acceptability showed a decrease in correlation with color and smell and an increase in correlation with cohesiveness, compared to before storage. Results of multiple regression analysis showed that hardness had the biggest influence(-) on the overall acceptability of Jeolpyun, aroma and cohesiveness ranked second(-) and third(+) respectively. After one day of storage, cohesiveness had the biggest influence on the overall acceptability of Jeolpyun. Color and adhesiveness ranked second(-) and third(+) respectively. It can be seen that different factors influence overall acceptability of Jeolpyun after storage.

  • Graphical expressions are continuously improving, spurred by the astonishing growth of the game technology industry. Despite such improvements, users are still demanding a more natural gaming environment and true reflections of human emotions. In real life, people can read a person's moods from facial color and expression. Hence, interactive facial colors in game characters provide a deeper level of reality. In this paper we propose a facial color adaptive technique, which is a combination of an emotional model based on human emotion theory, emotional expression pattern using colors of animation contents, and emotional reaction speed function based on human personality theory, as opposed to past methods that expressed emotion through blood flow, pulse, or skin temperature. Experiments show this of expression of the Facial Color Model based on facial color adoptive technique and expression of the animation contents is effective in conveying character emotions. Moreover, the proposed Facial Color Adaptive Technique can be applied not only to 2D games, but to 3D games as well.

  • The importance of the community centers has been increased throughout the decade. With the interest on the centers, the quality of the architectural design of the centers have been much improved. But the importance of the interior design and color' design of the centers have been ignored. It is quite sure that the quality of the interior design impact on the satisfaction degree of the users. And color is the important element which can control the quality of the interior design economically. This study surveyed the three community centers in Seoul to investigate the status of the color usages. And to consider the user's need, and preference in color design, this study performs the questionnaire about the color image and color pallette preference of the users and interior design professionals. Mainly highly bright and low chromatic YR colors were used, giving rigid and monotonous atmosphere. The most preferred color image were warm, bright and secondly friendly, simple, soft, open. And the preference for pallette were various but we can find the difference of color preference and color combination type according to the user's group. As a result, This study proposes the basic guidelines for color design, such as ideal color Image and color and color combination type and color pallette. This proposals can be applied as a basic guideline for color design of the community centers.

  • This paper presents an LED lighting system with an LED color control algorithm that can independently change its color temperature and illuminance. To show the validity of the proposed algorithm, it is proven that its solution always exists. The proposed algorithm was applied to the control of an LED module that is composed of red, green, blue, and white (RGBW) LEDs. Its color temperature variation ranged from 3,500~7,500[$^{\circ}K$], and its illuminance ranges from 500~1,500[lux]. Within these range, the color temperature and illuminance deviations are as low as $\pm0.8$[%] when the junction temperature of LEDs are maintained at 40[$^{\circ}C$]. In the range of 30~70[$^{\circ}C$], the measured illuminance and color temperature deviations are as low as 2.1[%] and 3.6[%], and the compensated ones are as low as 1[%] and 0.49[%], when the desired illuminance and color temperature are 1,000[lux] and 6,500[$^{\circ}K$], respectively.nyang.ac.kr).

  • The shade of restorative materials is very important for successful restoration esthetically harmonized with the natural tooth. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the color stability and the opacity change of conventional chemical setting and visible light curing glass-ionomer cements for restorative esthetic filling. Specimens of each brand (GC Fuji II and Fuji II LC) were uniformly prepared and divided into three groups: In group l(control group), the specimens received no surface treatment; in group 2, the specimens were coated with varnish and the excess gently blown off; and in group 3. the specimens were coated with light-cured bonding resin and irradiated by a visible light curing unit for 20 seconds on both sides. All specimens were stored in distilled water at $37^{\circ}C$ and checked after for 24 hours. 2 months. 4 months, 6 months. and 8 months. The color characteristics($L^*,\;a^*,\;b^*$) and the opacity(Y%) of all the samples were measured by a spectrocolorimeter and the total color differences(${\Delta}E^*$) and opacity changes(${\Delta}Y%$) were computed. The following results were obtained : 1. The total tolor differences in all groups increased with time. 2. The total color differences of the LC groups after immersion for 8 months in distilled water at $37^{\circ}C$ were lower than those of GC groups(p<0.01), and the total color differences of the varnish or the light-cured bonding resin coated groups were lower than those of the control group with glass-ionomer cements which had no surface treatment(p<0.01). 3. In all groups the translucency decreased with time. 4. In the control group and the varnish coating group. the opacity changes of the GC groups were lower than those of the LC groups(p<0.01) and in the light-cured bonding resin coated group, there was no significant difference between the GC group and the LC group. 5. The opacity changes of the varnish or the light-cured bonding resin coated groups were lower than those of the control group(p<0.01). These results suggest that color change and opacity of conventional chemical setting and light cured glass-ionomer cement were increased with time, and the color changes and the opacity changes of a control group after immersion for 8 months in distilled water at $37^{\circ}C$ were greater than those of the varnish or the light-cured bonding resin coated groups.
