  • The purpose of this study is to identify the antecedents of repurchase intention toward fast fashion brands. Perceived quality, perceived price, deindividuation, and overly trendy styles, which are product characteristic variables, and fashion innovativeness, which is a consumer characteristic variable, were considered as antecedents. It was hypothesized that product and consumer characteristics influence repurchase intention toward fast fashion brands not only directly, but also indirectly through cognitive dissonance. Data were gathered by surveying university students in Seoul using convenience sampling. Three hundred and fifty-two questionnaires were used in the statistical analysis. SPSS was used for exploratory factor analysis, and AMOS was used for confirmatory factor analysis and path analysis. The factor analysis of product characteristics revealed four dimensions: "perceived quality", "perceived price", "deindividuation", and "overly trendy styles", and the factor analysis of consumer characteristics revealed one dimension. The factor analysis of cognitive dissonance revealed two dimensions, "regrets" and "perceived uncertainty." The hypothesized path test proved that perceived quality, deindividuation, overly trendy styles, and fashion innovativeness influence repurchase intention directly. Perceived price and deindividuation influence repurchase intention indirectly through the factor of cognitive dissonance, which is the perceived uncertainty, indicating the importance of cognitive dissonance. The results indicate effective marketing strategies should be used to decrease consumers' cognitive dissonance, and suggestions for future study are provided.

  • The author reviewed cognitive-behavioral approach to A type behavior pattern and hypertension which are known to be risk factors for coronary heart diseases. Those cognitive distortions frequently found in persons with A type behavior include all-nothing thinking, selective attention, personalization, and attribution of causality. Cognitive-behavioral techniques were also described, which can be applied to management of each characteristic of A type behavior pattern such as time urgency, perfectionism, achievement striving, low self-esteem, excessive work involvement, hostility, and depression. Cognitive-behavioral intervention for hypertension might help the patients to recognize and monitor anger-engendering conflicts, identify characteristic styles of responding, and experiment with alternative ways of managing conflict and anger. Since different features predominate in different individuals, it is necessary to develop treatment plan on the basis of individual characteristics and problems.

  • This study suggests a process design using cognitive processes. Job characteristic model for job design and recent cognitive engineering studies for process design are reviewed briefly. By using these concepts, the lean production system is re-interpreted in terms of cognitive engineering and the latent dimensions of the lean production system are revealed as the application of cognitive engineering principles. An integrated process design framework for cognitive manufacturing system using job characteristic model is suggested for the effective design of manufacturing system. Propositions for empirical analysis of this model are also analyzed through a questionnaire survey. Propositions are (1) experiential cognition and motivation potential affect the ability, role perception, and need for achievement of the operator in the manufacturing system, (2) the ability, role perception, and need for achievement of the operator affect the job performance. Both propositions are supported by correlation analysis and path analysis.

  • This survey was performed to evaluate and compare cognitive function, self-esteem and depression in the elderly related to aging. The data were collected from 200 elders in eight homes for the elderly in Taegu. Data collection was done from June 1 to 31, 1996. The scale used to measure cognitive function was the MMSE-K(Mini-Mental State Examination-Korea), Self-esteem was measmed using Rosenberg's self-esteem scale and depression using SDS(Self-rating Depression Scale). A comparison of cognitive function, self-esteem and depression by aging were summarised as follows : 1. There were significant differences on the cognitive function score in the elderly according to age group(F=24.81, P<.01). 2. There were significant differences on the self-esteem score in the elderly according to age group(F=3.84, P<.5). 3. There were significant differences on the depression score in the elderly according to age group (F=5.90, P<.1). 4. The general characteristics which affected the cognitive function scores of the elders were sex (F=8.45, P<.5), educational level(F=8.86, P<.5), spousing(F=34.59. P<.01), and the perception of health(F=4.63, P<.5). 5. The general characteristic which affected the self-esteem scores of the elders was the perception of health(F=3.81. P<.5). 6. The general characteristic which affected the depression scores was the educational level(F=3.96, P<.5).

  • It seems reasonable to assume that the individualized learning means more than simple teaching-learning method, so the instructional method has attracted a fair amount of attention not only in classroom, but also in the field of a adult education, cooperate education, and so on. In order to have an effect on individualized learning, we need to analyze and measure the learner's characteristic. However it is difficult to represent in quantified form because the conception and category of learner's characteristic is various and extensive. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a quantification method of learner's characteristic, which is limited to learner's cognitive structure and style, and is represented in the light of connectionism, verify the validity. The learner's cognitive structure in this paper was represented, which simplified the learner's cognitive structure. Additionally, the cognitive style in this paper was limited to inertia of knowledge for learner's cognition.

  • This paper introduces m analysis framework and procedure for the support of the cognitive error analysis of emergency tasks in nuclear poler plants. The framework provides a new perspective in the utilization of influencing factors into error prediction. The framework can be characterized by two features. First, influencing factors that affect the occurrence of human error me classified into three groups, i.e., task characteristic factors(TCF), situation factors(SF), and performance assisting factors(PAF). This classification aims to support error prediction from the viewpoint of assessing the adequacy of PAF under given TCF and SF. Second, the assessment of influencing factors is made by each cognitive function. Through this, influencing factors assessment and error prediction can be made in an integrative way according to each cognitive function. In addition, it helps analysts identify vulnerable cognitive functions and error factors, and obtain specific nor reduction strategies. The proposed framework was applied to the error analysis of the bleed and feed operation of nuclear emergency tasks.

  • Although a figure expression has a role of mediator in the geometry proof, it is not admitted to prove based on a vision-dependent feature. This study starts from the problem that although a figure expression has an important role in the geometry proof, a lot of students don't understand the limit of vision-dependent feature in the figure expression. We will investigate this problem to understand cognitive characteristic of students. Moreover, we try to get the didactical implications. To do this, we investigate the cognitive ability for a limit of vision-dependent feature, targeting a class of middle school seniors And we will have a personal interview with four students who show a lack of sense of limit of vision-dependent feature in the figure expression and two students for who it is difficult to judge that they don't understand the limit of vision-dependent feature in the figure expression. We will observe and analyzed the cognitive characteristic of six students. Based on the analysis, we will finally discuss on the didactical implications to help students understand the limit of vision-dependent feature in the figure expression.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore North Korean immigrant elementary students' cognitive and affective characteristics related to science education. A total of 68 North Korean immigrant students enrolled in 3 to 6 grades and 133 South Korean students in 4 and 6 grades in 3 South Korean elementary schools participated in the study. A short version of Group Assessment of Logical Thinking(GALT) was used to investigate the students' levels of logical thinking, and the Enjoyment of Science Lessons Scale(ESLS) of the Test of Science Related Attitudes(TOSRA) was administrated to examine their attitudes towards science lessons. The statistical analysis of data revealed that the level of logical thinking of the North Korean immigrant elementary students was very low and that this was also the case for the South Korean students. Especially, the mean score of logical thinking of the North Korean immigrant 6 graders was much lower when compared with that of the South Korean counterparts. For both the North Korean immigrant students and South Korean students, the enjoyment of science lessons decreased as they progressed through higher grades. This decreasing trend, however, turned out to be more serious in the South Korean elementary students. Based on these results, suggestions were presented to help successful science learning of North Korean immigrant elementary students.

  • Cyberloafing is a term used to describe the actions of employees who use their Internet access at work for personal use while pretending to do legitimate work. This research that this puts the foundation on the general deterrence theory, social control theory, and Triandis model compares the individual characteristic including the group norm, self-control, perceived value among many factors having an effect on the personal ethical decision-making besides the general principles of ethics and stipulated regulation like the severity of sanction together. It was exposed to have the effect that the severity of punishment, self control, and perceived value notes to the internet abuse action. Therefore, the education and rules of punishment which is consistent along with the theoretical thesis supporting the groping of the preparation plan that is active in the various ethic problems has to be built. It is necessary that the company devises the internet application in the appropriate range, that is the partial the affirmation feeling which and it can allow officially. According to the cognitive dissonance, since this will have to allow with the positive direction can move to the misuse action with the intention differently, it can draw a conclusion.
