In this paper, we present a new cぉnet coding method, so called MLC (Multi-Level Codes), for error detection and correction in digital wireless communication. MLC coding method we the same coding procedure wed in the convolutional coding but it is distinguished from the existing convolutional coding in point of generating the code word by using multi-level information data (M-ary signal) and in point of speed of coding procedure Through computer simulation, we analyze the performance of the coding method suggested here compared to convolutional coding method in case of modulo-operation and in case of non-binary coding Procedure respectively under various channel environments.

Existing coding aware routing algorithms focused on novel routing metric design that captures the characteristics of network coding. However, in packet coding algorithm, they use opportunistic coding scheme which didn't consider the queue state of the coding node and are equivalent to the conventional store-and-forward method in light traffic load condition because they never delay packets and there are no packets in the output queue of coding node, which results in no coding opportunity. In addition, most of the existing algorithms assume that all flows participating in the network have equal rate. This is unrealistic since multi-rate environments are often appeared. To overcome above problem and expand network coding to light traffic load scenarios, we present an enhanced coding-aware routing algorithm based on queue state and local topology (OQMCAR), which consider the queue state of coding node in packet coding algorithm where the control policy is of threshold-type. OQMCAR is a unified framework to merge single rate case and multiple rate case, including the light traffic load scenarios. Simulations results show that our scheme can achieve higher throughput and lower end-to-end delay than the current mechanisms using COPE-type opportunistic coding policy in different cases.
In Wyner-Ziv coding, key picture is encoded by conventional H.264/AVC intra coding which has low complexity. Although inter coding is more efficient than intra coding, its complexity is much higher than intra coding due to its motion estimation. Since the main feature of Wyner-Ziv coding is low complexity of encoder, inter coding is not suitable to encode key picture in Wyner-Ziv coding. However, inter picture coding with zero motion vector can be usable for Wyner-Ziv key picture coding instead of intra coding. Moreover, while current transform-domain Wyner-Ziv residual coding only utilizes temporal correlation of WZ picture, if zero motion coding is jointly used to encode key picture in transform-domain Wyner-Ziv residual coding, there will be a significant improvement in R-D performance. Experimental results show that the complexity of Wyner-Ziv coding with the proposed zero motion key picture coding is higher than conventional Wyner-Ziv coding with intra key picture coding by about 9%, however, there are BDBR gains up to 54%. Additionally, if the proposed zero motion key coding is implemented on top of the transform-domain Wyner-Ziv residual coding, the result shows rate gains up to 70% in BDBR compared to conventional Wyner-Ziv coding with intra key picture coding.
In the HEVC standard, transform coefficient coding that affects the output bitstream directly is a core part of the encoder and it includes coefficient scanning and entropy coding. Recently, JCT-VC(Joint Collaborative Team on Video Coding) advances to HEVC Committee Draft (CD). In this paper, we explain HEVC transform coefficient coding and propose an efficient transform coefficient coding method considering statistics of transform coefficients in the intra frame coder. The proposed method reduces BD-Rate by up to 0.74%, compared to the conventional HEVC transform coefficient coding.
Diversity-multiplexing tradeoff (DMT) is an efficient tool to measure the performance of multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) systems and cooperative systems. Recently, cooperative multicast system with wireless network coding stretched tremendous interesting due to that it can drastically enhance the throughput of the wireless networks. It is desirable to apply DMT to the performance analysis on the multicast system with wireless network coding. In this paper, DMT is performed at the three proposed wireless network coding protocols, i.e., non-regenerative network coding (NRNC), regenerative complex field network coding (RCNC) and regenerative Galois field network coding (RGNC). The DMT analysis shows that under the same system performance, i.e., the same diversity gain, all the three network coding protocols outperform the traditional transmission scheme without network coding in terms of multiplexing gain. Our DMT analysis also exhibits the trends of the three network coding protocols' performance when multiplexing gain is changing from the lower region to the higher region. Monte-Carlo simulations verify the prediction of DMT.

An image coding technique based on a segmentation, which utilizes a simplified description of regions composing an image, is investigated in this paper. The proposed coding technique consists of 3 stages: segmentation, contour coding. In this paper, emphasis was given to texture coding in order to improve a quality of an image. Split-and-merge method was employed for a segmentation. In the texture coding, a linear predictive coding(LPC), along with approximation technique based on a two-dimensional polynomial function was used to encode texture components. Depending on a size of region and a mean square error between an original and a reconstructed image, appropriate texture coding techniques were determined. A computer simulation on natural images indicates that an acceptable image quality at a compression ratio as high as 15-25 could be obtained. In comparison with a discrete cosine transform coding technique, which is the most typical coding technique in the first-generation coding, the proposed scheme leads to a better quality at compression ratio higher than 15-20.
Video coding technologies are progressively becoming more efficient and complex. The Versatile Video Coding (VVC) is a new state-of-the art video compression standard that is going to be a standard, as the next generation of High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) standard. To explore the future video coding technologies beyond the HEVC, numerous efficient methods have been adopted by the Joint Video Exploration Team (JVET). Since then, the next generation video coding standard named as VVC and its software model called VVC Test Model (VTM) have emerged. In this paper, several important coding features for motion estimation and motion compensation in the VVC standard is introduced and analyzed in terms of the performance. Improved coding tools introduced for ME and MC in VVC, can achieve much better and good balance between coding efficiency and coding complexity compared with the HEVC.
In this paper, a realization of a subband coding with TMS320C80 is studied. TMS320C80 is a multi-media processor specially designed for an image process. A main topic of this paper, as mentioned above, is an application of TMS320C80 to subband coding. Subband coding is the coding that devides full image to several subbands and encodes each subband with different coding methods. As using that methods, good image compression can be obtained. First above all, goal of this paper deals with TMS320C80 in coding still image and useds it in expending it's application to 3-D video coding.

In this paper, we investigated the performance of both DNA coding method and Genetic Algorithm(GA) in numeric pattern (from 0 to 9) recognition. The performance of the DNA coding method is compared to the that of the GA. GA searches effectively an optimal solution via the artificial evolution of individual group of binary string using binary coding, while DNA coding method uses four-type bases denoted by Adenine(A), Cytosine(C), Guanine(G) and Thymine(T). To compare the performance of both method, the same genetic operators(crossover and mutation) are applied and the probabilities of crossover and mutation are set the same values. The results show that the DNA coding method has better performance over GA. The reasons for this outstanding performance are multiple candidate solution presentation in one string and variable solution string length.

In recent years, due to its high efficiency and better performance, the high efficiency video coding (HEVC) has become the most common compression standard in the field of video coding. In this paper, the framework of HEVC is deeply analyzed, and an improved HEVC video coding algorithm based on all phase biorthogonal transform (APBT) is proposed, where APBT is utilized to replace the discrete cosine transform (DCT) and discrete sine transform (DST) in original HEVC standard. Based on the relationship between APBT and DCT, the integer APBT is deduced. To further improve the coding performance, an optimal HEVC video coding algorithm based on hybrid APBT is proposed. The coding performance of the proposed HEVC coding algorithm is improved without increasing the complexity. Experimental results show that compared with HEVC standard algorithm, the improved HEVC video coding algorithm based on hybrid APBT can improve the coding performance of chrominance components by about 0.3%.
