Preparation and Separation Properties of Polymer Gel for Chromatography (크로마토그래피용 고분자 겔의 제조 및 분리특성)

  • Monodisperse porous poly(styrene-co-divinylbenzene)(St-DVB) gel and poly(acrylonitrile-co-ethylene dimethacrylate)(AN-EDMA) gel have been prepared by seed polymerization using polystyrene seeds, which were prepared by dispersion polymerization. The St-DVB and AN-EDMA gels had a narrow size distribution and pores suitable for packing materials of HPLC. The columns packed with these gels were proved to have high efficiency for GPC or HPLC coluuns. Adsorption properties of $Cu^{2+}$, $Cd^{2+}$ and ${UO_2}^{2+}$ ions on AAN-EDMA gel prepared from amidoximation of AN-EDMA gel were also determined.

Polyacrylamide Gel Immobilization of Porcine Liver Esterase for the Enantioselective Production of Levofloxacin

  • Porcine liver esterase was immobilized in polyacrylamide gel for the enantioselective production of levofloxacin from ofloxacin butyl ester. The initial activity of immobilized esterase was found to be significantly affected by the polyacrylamide gel composition. The optimum concentrations of monomer and crosslinker were determined to be 20% and 8.3%, respectively. The activity of immobilized esterase was 55.4% compared to a free enzyme. Enantiomeric excess was maintained at 60%, almost the same level as that of free enzyme. In addition, the immobilized esterase could be used repeatedly up to 10 times without experiencing any severe loss of activity and enantioselectivity.

  • A Chemoautotroph identified as an Aeromonas sp. strain JS-1 was isolated from fresh water. Aeromonas sp. strain JS-1 used the $H_2$ and $CO_2$ as energy and carbon sources, respectively. Growth characteristics for improving the $CO_2$ fixation rate were examined in batch cultivation. Its results shown that the optimal growth appeared at culture conditions of $35^{\circ}C$, pH 7 and NaCl 0.1%(w/v). Some hydrogen-oxidizing bacteria were reported that the enzyme activity of ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase- oxygenase (RubisCO-EC 4.1.1.39), in the key enzyme of the Calvin-Benson cycle. A RubisCO was purified from a chemoautotrophic bacterium, Aeromonas sp. strain JS-1. the enzyme was purified by ammonium sulfate precipitation, DEAE-sepharose CL-6B and gel filtration chromatography. The RubisCO showed that molecular mass was about 560KDa from gel filtration chromatography and nondenaturing PAGE, and the RubisCO was confirmed to consist of $L_8S_8$ enzyme structure by sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. A large subunit was about 56KDa and small one was about 15kDa. The Km values of the enzyme for ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate(RUBP), $NaH^{14}CO_3$, and $Mg^{++}$ were estimated to be 0.25mM, 5.2mM, and 0.91mM, respectively. The optimum temperature for RubisCO enzymatic activity were $50^{\circ}C$, and the enzymatic activity was stable up to $45^{\circ}C$.

  • The crystallographic properties and cation distribution of oxyspinels ferrite $Co_xFe_{1-x}O_4$ thin films have been explored by X-ray diffraction, vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), and conversion electron $M\"{o}ssbauer$ spectroscopy (CEMS). Thin films are prepared by sol-gel method. Normal spinel structure is transformed to inverse spinel structure with increasing Co concentration CEMS results indicate that most of $Fe^{3+}$ ions are substituted to $Co^{3+}$ions. Accordingly $Co^{2+}$ ions on octahedral site migrate to tetrahedral site. Magnetic moment is decreased with increasing Co concentration, which means high spin $Fe^{3+}$ ions are replaced by low spin $Co^{3+}$.

  • This study is an inorganic foaming ceramic by sol-gel reaction in order to overcome weak point of insulator using in construction equipment. We shall be able to confirm as the existing product substitute is possible result of this study. The solution where the silicate, the ceramic powder and the additive are included which makes foaming ceramic slurry, then the insulator made by used $CO_2$ Sol-Gel reaction. There being will be able to manufacture the insulator where the economical efficiency is excellent confirmed at the start product which is completed. The recording gel time decreases when the silicate will increase. Uses the hydrogen peroxide and fe make foam, when additionally surface preparation the fluorine resin, the water tolerance increases and will be able to complement the weak point of the silicate which omits in the water. The case which will use the loess powder with the research method which sees specially was environment-friendly product and according to appearing, the physical properties of nonflammability.

  • II-Ⅵ족 반도체 중에서 넓은 밴드갭을 가지는 ZnO에 Mn 이온을 doping할 경우 Tc가 상온보다 높을 것이라는 이론적 계산이 2000년 Science에 발표되었다. 이후 ZnO에 전이금속 이온을 doping하여 상온에서도 강자성을 나타내는 자성 반도체 (DMS)를 만들기 위한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. Co-doped ZnO 박막은 PLD로 증착하였을 경우 Tc가 상온보다 높으나 재현성이 낮은 것으로 알려져 있었다. 그러나 최근 sol-gel 방법을 이용하여 Co-doped ZnO 박막을 제조하면 강자기 특성의 재현성을 높일 수 있다는 결과가 보고되었다. 이에 본 연구에서는 sol-gel 방법을 사용하여 여러 조성의 Co-doped ZnO 박막을 합성한 후 이들의 자성 특성을 검토하였다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 Co-doped ZnO 박막에서 강자성 발현의 근원을 규명하고자 (ⅰ) 조성에 따른 Co-doped ZnO의 Raman peak과 EXAFS peak의 변화를 측정하여 구조적 특성과 ZnO 내에서의 Co 이온의 상태를 분석하였으며, (ⅱ) Hall 효과 실험으로 carrier density를 측정함으로써 Fermi 준위에서의 파수 벡터의 크기를 산출하고자 하였다.

  • Very fine cobalt oxide xerogel and ambigel powder were prepared using a unique solution chemistry associated with the sol-gel process. The mesoporous structure of the initial gel is maintained by removing fluid under conditions where the capillary forces that result extraction are either low or no existent, are either low or nonexistent. Controlling both the pore and solid architecture on the nanoscale offers a strategy for the design of supercapacitor. The results materials determine by using electrode that mixed ketjen black and PVdF. But CoO$\_$x/ have the low voltage, so we experimente to change electrolyte and various concentration.

  • In this study, nanocomposite layer composed of PMMA-co-MMA and $TiO_2$ was prepared by sol-gel process using TTIP as a precursor and was utilized as a gate insulator of OTFTs. The composite insulator provides the lower threshold voltage and the enhanced sub threshold slope of OTFTs mainly due to its higher dielectric constant than that of the bare PMMA-co-MMA. Consequently, it is demonstrated that the sol-gel process can open an interesting direction for the fabrication of high-performance OTFTs, and contribute for OTFTs to be feasible for real applications.

  • The main objective of this investigation is to improve the photoluminescent of $Zn_{2}SiO_{4}:Mn$ phosphors prepared by the sol-gel technique. We try to use adding a new co-dopan such as Cr and Ti. The calcination temperature of sol-gel technique(1100 $^{\circ}C$) was lower than that of the solid state reaction (1300 $^{\circ}C$). Under 147nm excitation, the maximum emission intensity was obtained when the concentration of Cr and Ti was 0.1mol% with respect to $Zn_{2}SiO_{4}:Mn$. In order to study the effect of co-dopant, the content of Mn and the ratio of water to TEOS were fixed at 2mol% and 36:1, respectively.

  • Cobalt ferrite thin films on Corming glass substrate were fabricated by a sol-gel method. Cobalt ferrite thin films with the grain size of 20-35 nm and thickness of 50nm were obtained. Rapid thermal annealing (RTA) and Annealing processes were adopted for comparison of characteristics of the films. Coercivity values were changed with thermal condition and magnetization values were increased as a function of soaking time. With prolonged soaking time, however, it was decreased because of the diffusion of cations from the glass substrate. The RTA process in preparation of cobalt ferrite thin film was the effective way to prevent and to form a single spinel phase in reduced soaking time. The film heated at 600$^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes by RTA had coercivity of 2,600 Oe, saturation magnetization 460 emu/㎤, and Mr$.$$\delta$ of 1.43 memu/$\textrm{cm}^2$.
