  • CNN based object recognitions have reported splendid results. However, the recognition of mobile apps raises an interesting challenge that recognition performance of similar widgets is not consistent. In order to improve the performance, we propose a noble method utilizing relations between input widgets. The recognition process flows from the Faster R-CNN based recognition to enhancement using a relation recognizer. The relations are represented as vector translation between objects in a relation space. Experiments on 323 apps show that our method significantly enhances the Faster R-CNN only approach.

  • CNN (Convolutional Neural Networks) is a neural network that models animal visual information processing. And it shows good performance in various fields. In this paper, we use CNN to classify target and non-target data by analyzing the spectrogram of active sonar signal. The data were divided into 8 classes according to the ratios containing the targets and used for learning CNN. The spectrogram of the signal is divided into frames and used as inputs. As a result, it was possible to classify the target and non-target using the characteristic that the classification results of the seven classes corresponding to the target signal sequentially appear only at the position of the target signal.

  • The CNN (convolutional neural network) based single degradation restoration method shows outstanding performance yet is tailored on solving a specific degradation type. In this paper, we present an algorithm of multi-degradation classification and restoration. We utilize the CNN based algorithm for solving image degradation classification problem using pre-trained Inception-v3 network. In addition, we use the existing CNN based algorithms for solving particular image degradation problems. We identity the restoration order of multi-degraded images empirically and compare with the non-reference image quality assessment score based on CNN. We use the restoration order to implement the algorithm. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can solve multi-degradation problem.

  • Manual seed classification challenges can be overcome using a reliable and autonomous seed purity identification and classification technique. It is a highly practical and commercially important requirement of the agricultural industry. Researchers can create a new data mining method with improved accuracy using current machine learning and artificial intelligence approaches. Seed classification can help with quality making, seed quality controller, and impurity identification. Seeds have traditionally been classified based on characteristics such as colour, shape, and texture. Generally, this is done by experts by visually examining each model, which is a very time-consuming and tedious task. This approach is simple to automate, making seed sorting far more efficient than manually inspecting them. Computer vision technologies based on machine learning (ML), symmetry, and, more specifically, convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have been widely used in related fields, resulting in greater labour efficiency in many cases. To sort a sample of 3000 seeds, KNN, SVM, CNN and CNN-SVM hybrid classification algorithms were used. A model that uses advanced deep learning techniques to categorise some well-known seeds is included in the proposed hybrid system. In most cases, the CNN-SVM model outperformed the comparable SVM and CNN models, demonstrating the effectiveness of utilising CNN-SVM to evaluate data. The findings of this research revealed that CNN-SVM could be used to analyse data with promising results. Future study should look into more seed kinds to expand the use of CNN-SVMs in data processing.

  • Brain tumor classification is an important process that allows doctors to plan treatment for patients based on the stages of the tumor. To improve classification performance, various CNN-based architectures are used for brain tumor classification. Existing methods for brain tumor segmentation suffer from overfitting and poor efficiency when dealing with large datasets. The enhanced CNN architecture proposed in this study is based on U-Net for brain tumor segmentation, RefineNet for pattern analysis, and SegNet architecture for brain tumor classification. The brain tumor benchmark dataset was used to evaluate the enhanced CNN model's efficiency. Based on the local and context information of the MRI image, the U-Net provides good segmentation. SegNet selects the most important features for classification while also reducing the trainable parameters. In the classification of brain tumors, the enhanced CNN method outperforms the existing methods. The enhanced CNN model has an accuracy of 96.85 percent, while the existing CNN with transfer learning has an accuracy of 94.82 percent.

  • CNN is a type of deep learning and is a neural network used to process images or image data. The filter traverses the image and extracts features of the image to distinguish the image. Deep learning has the characteristic that the more data, the better models can be made, and CNN uses a method of artificially increasing the amount of data by means of data augmentation such as rotation, zoom, shift, and flip to compensate for the weakness of less data. When learning CNN, we would like to check whether outline image learning is helpful in improving performance compared to conventional data augmentation techniques.

  • Food basically must have nutrition and safety. Recently, a number of symptoms of food poisoning occurred in a kindergarten in Ansan, where food safety was suspected. Therefore, the safety of food is more demanding. In this paper, we propose a method to inprove the detector to secure food safety. The proposed method is to learn through the network of convolution neural network (CNN) and Faster region-CNN (Faster R-CNN) and test the images of normal and foreign products. As a result of testing through a deep learning model, the method that used Faster R-CNN in parallel with the existing foreign body detector algorithm showed better detection rate than other methods.

  • Gliomas are the most common malignant brain tumor and cause the most deaths. Manual brain tumor segmentation is expensive, time-consuming, error-prone, and dependent on the radiologist's expertise and experience. Manual brain tumor segmentation outcomes by different radiologists for the same patient may differ. Thus, more robust, and dependable methods are needed. Medical imaging researchers produced numerous semi-automatic and fully automatic brain tumor segmentation algorithms using ML pipelines and accurate (handcrafted feature-based, etc.) or data-driven strategies. Current methods use CNN or handmade features such symmetry analysis, alignment-based features analysis, or textural qualities. CNN approaches provide unsupervised features, while manual features model domain knowledge. Cascaded algorithms may outperform feature-based or data-driven like CNN methods. A revolutionary cascaded strategy is presented that intelligently supplies CNN with past information from handmade feature-based ML algorithms. Each patient receives manual ground truth and four MRI modalities (T1, T1c, T2, and FLAIR). Handcrafted characteristics and deep learning are used to segment brain tumors in a Global Convolutional Neural Network (GCNN). The proposed GCNN architecture with two parallel CNNs, CSPathways CNN (CSPCNN) and MRI Pathways CNN (MRIPCNN), segmented BraTS brain tumors with high accuracy. The proposed model achieved a Dice score of 87% higher than the state of the art. This research could improve brain tumor segmentation, helping clinicians diagnose and treat patients.

  • Conventional Convolutional Neural Network(CNN) algorithms have limitations in detecting small objects in large image. In this paper, we propose an improved model which is based on Region Of Interest(ROI) selection and image dividing technique. We prepared YOLOv3 / Faster R-CNN algorithms which are transfer-learned by airfield and aircraft datasets. Also we prepared large images for testing. In order to verify our model, we selected airfield area from large image as ROI first and divided it in two power n orders. Then we compared the aircraft detection rates by number of divisions. We could get the best size of divided image pieces for efficient small object detection derived from the comparison of aircraft detection rates. As a result, we could verify that the improved CNN algorithm can detect small object in large images.
