Surface detection and parameter estimation in point cloud is a relevant subject in CAD/CAM, reverse engineering, computer vision, coordinate metrology and digital factory. In this paper we present a software for a fully automatic surface detection and parameter estimation in unordered, incomplete and error-contaminated point cloud with a large number of data points. The software consists of three algorithmic modules each for object identification, point segmentation, and model fitting, which work interactively. Our newly developed algorithms for orthogonal distance fitting(ODF) play a fundamental role in each of the three modules. The ODF algorithms estimate the model parameters by minimizing the square sum of the shortest distances between the model feature and the measurement points. We demonstrate the performance of the software on a variety of point clouds generated by laser radar, computer tomography, and stripe-projection method.

Cloud is the latest buzz word in the internet community among developers, consumers and security researchers. There have been many attacks on the cloud in the recent past where the services got interrupted and consumer privacy has been compromised. Denial of Service (DoS) attacks effect the service availability to the genuine user. Customers are paying to use the cloud, so enhancing the availability of services is a paramount task for the service provider. In the presence of DoS attacks, the availability is reduced drastically. Such attacks must be detected and prevented as early as possible and the power of computational approaches can be used to do so. In the literature, machine learning techniques have been used to detect the presence of attacks. In this paper, a novel approach is proposed, where intelligent rule based feature selection and classification are performed for DoS attack detection in the cloud. The performance of the proposed system has been evaluated on an experimental cloud set up with real time DoS tools. It was observed that the proposed system achieved an accuracy of 98.46% on the experimental data for 10,000 instances with 10 fold cross-validation. By using this methodology, the service providers will be able to provide a more secure cloud environment to the customers.
Three-dimensional (3D) models have become crucial for improving civil infrastructure analysis, and they can be used for various purposes such as damage detection, risk estimation, resolving potential safety issues, alarm detection, and structural health monitoring. 3D point cloud data is used not only to make visual models but also to analyze the states of structures and to monitor them using semantic data. This study proposes automating the generation of high-quality 3D point cloud data and removing noise using deep learning algorithms. In this study, large-format aerial images of civilian infrastructure, such as cut slopes and dams, which were captured by drones, were used to develop a workflow for automatically generating a 3D point cloud model. Through image cropping, downscaling/upscaling, semantic segmentation, generation of segmentation masks, and implementation of region extraction algorithms, the generation of the point cloud was automated. Compared with the method wherein the point cloud model is generated from raw images, our method could effectively improve the quality of the model, remove noise, and reduce the processing time. The results showed that the size of the 3D point cloud model created using the proposed method was significantly reduced; the number of points was reduced by 20-50%, and distant points were recognized as noise. This method can be applied to the automatic generation of high-quality 3D point cloud models of civil infrastructures using aerial imagery.

In cognitive radio (CR), spectrum sensing is an essential function since secondary users (SUs) must determine whether the primary user (PU) is utilizing the channel or not, and furthermore, SUs opportunistically access the licensed channel when the PU is absent. In this paper, spectrum sensing is implemented by energy detection, and a software-defined radio testbed is built to evaluate sensing performance by energy detection in a real environment. In particular, the testbed was built based on the GNU's Not Unix (GNU) Radio software platform and Universal Software Radio Peripheral National Instruments 2900 devices. More specifically, a new block of energy detection is developed by using an out-of-tree module from GNU Radio. To successfully integrate CR into the cloud computing paradigm, we also implement cloud computing-based spectrum sensing by utilizing a cloud server with ThingSpeak, such that we can store, process, and share the sensing information more efficiently in a centralized way in the cloud server.

Recently, quality control of the Liquefied Natural Gas Carrier (LNGC) cargo hold and block-erection interference areas using 3D scanners have been performed, focusing on large shipyards and the international association of classification societies. In this study, as a part of the research on LNGC cargo hold quality management advancement, a study on deep-learning-based scaffolding system 3D point cloud object detection and post-processing were conducted using a LNGC cargo hold 3D point cloud. The scaffolding system point cloud object detection is based on the PointNet deep learning architecture that detects objects using point clouds, achieving 70% prediction accuracy. In addition, the possibility of improving the accuracy of object detection through parameter adjustment is confirmed, and the standard of Intersection over Union (IoU), an index for determining whether the object is the same, is achieved. To avoid the manual post-processing work, the object detection architecture allows automatic task performance and can achieve stable prediction accuracy through supplementation and improvement of learning data. In the future, an improved study will be conducted on not only the flat surface of the LNGC cargo hold but also complex systems such as curved surfaces, and the results are expected to be applicable in process progress automation rate monitoring and ship quality control.

Research on object detection algorithms using 2D data has already progressed to the level of commercialization and is being applied to various manufacturing industries. Object detection technology using 2D data has an effective advantage, there are technical limitations to accurate data generation and analysis. Since 2D data is two-axis data without a sense of depth, ambiguity arises when approached from a practical point of view. Advanced countries such as the United States are leading 3D data collection and research using 3D laser scanners. Existing processing and detection algorithms such as ICP and RANSAC show high accuracy, but are used as a processing speed problem in the processing of large-scale point cloud data. In this study, PointNet a representative technique for detecting objects using widely used 3D point cloud data is analyzed and described. And RandLA-Net, which overcomes the limitations of PointNet's performance and object prediction accuracy, is described a review of detection technology using point cloud data was conducted.

The decline in the rural populace and an aging workforce have led to fatalities due to worsening environments and hazards within vinyl greenhouses. Therefore, it is necessary to automate crop cultivation and disease detection system in greenhouses to prevent labor loss. In this paper, an object detection-based model is used to detect diseased crop in greenhouses. In addition, the system proposed configures the environment of the artificial intelligence model in the cloud to ensure stability. The system captures images taken inside the vinyl greenhouse and stores them in a database, and then downloads the images to the cloud to perform inference based on Yolo-v4 for detection, generating JSON files for the results. Analyze this file and send it to the database for storage. From the experimental results, it was confirmed that disease detection through object detection showed high performance in real environments like vinyl greenhouses. It was also verified that efficient monitoring is possible through the database
Although the research of immune-based anomaly detection technology has made some progress, there are still some defects which have not been solved, such as the loophole problem which leads to low detection rate and high false alarm rate, the exponential relationship between training cost of mature detectors and size of self-antigens. This paper proposed an intrusion detection method based on changes of antibody concentration in immune response to improve and solve existing problems of immune based anomaly detection technology. The method introduces blood relative and blood family to classify antibodies and antigens and simulate correlations between antibodies and antigens. Then, the method establishes dynamic evolution models of antigens and antibodies in intrusion detection. In addition, the method determines concentration changes of antibodies in the immune system drawing the experience of cloud model, and divides the risk levels to guide immune responses. Experimental results show that the method has better detection performance and adaptability than traditional methods.
To precisely and reliably analyze the contents of the satellite imagery, recognizing the clouds which are the obstacle to gathering the useful information is essential. In recent times, deep learning yielded satisfactory results in various tasks, so many studies using deep neural networks have been conducted to improve the performance of cloud detection. However, existing methods for cloud detection have the limitation on increasing the performance due to the adopting the network models for semantic image segmentation without modification. To tackle this problem, we introduced the multi-branch neural architecture search to find optimal network structure for cloud detection. Additionally, the proposed method adopts the soft intersection over union (IoU) as loss function to mitigate the disagreement between the loss function and the evaluation metric and uses the various data augmentation methods. The experiments are conducted using the cloud detection dataset acquired by Arirang-3/3A satellite imagery. The experimental results showed that the proposed network which are searched network architecture using cloud dataset is 4% higher than the existing network model which are searched network structure using urban street scenes with regard to the IoU. Also, the experimental results showed that the soft IoU exhibits the best performance on cloud detection among the various loss functions. When comparing the proposed method with the state-of-the-art (SOTA) models in the field of semantic segmentation, the proposed method showed better performance than the SOTA models with regard to the mean IoU and overall accuracy.
