  • The Purpose of this study is to determine the effect of new generation adolescents' clothing consumption values on their evaluation of clothing products. In the positive analysis, a questionnaire survey was conducted. Particularly, based on Sheth's (1991) theory, a focus group Interview was performed to develop the questionnaire on adolescents' clothing consumption values. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: First, young consumers have different values and clothing purchasing behavior from adults. To be specific, adolescents tended to appreciate fashionable and sensual values among clothing consumption values. Second, it was found that adolescents'personal values and their group-wise clothing consumption values affected their evaluation of clothing products. Such a finding may explain the relationship between value system and purchasing decisions. Namely, adolescents' evaluation of clothing products is affected by their value system. This finding supports the consumer value system suggested by the "expectation-value" theory. Thus, values and clothing products evaluation are neither separated from each other nor unrelated, but they affect each other in an abstract hierarchial structure. After all, through the route model, personal values affect clothing consumption values, which in turn affect clothing products evaluation. Besides, the clothing consumption values are affected by gender directly or indirectly. All in all, some specific indices regarding the abstract and hierarchial consumption values could be offered by analyzing the effects of adolescents' consumption values on their evaluation of clothing products in reference to the external clues of price and trademark manipulated, and thereby, the effects of consumption values on the positive clothing products evaluation could be determined in general.n general.

  • This study aimed at exploring the system of reverse logistics for clothing, which refers to the whole process of moving clothes from their final destination for the purpose of capturing value or for proper disposal. In-depth interviews were conducted with stakeholders of reverse logistics system for clothing. Out of 51 individuals contacted, 12 participated in the research, resulting in 23.5% response rate. All the stages in Korean reverse logistic system for clothing were identified, but the flow of the resources in the system was not smooth and the collectors were often illegal or unauthorized companies. Domestic markets for reused or refurbished clothing were limited, and most of the products on this stage were exported. In general, collectors and exporters of reused clothes emphasized economic value over environmental value in their business when compared to manufacturer. Most participants acknowledged the importance of information exchange, but little social interaction was found among stakeholders.

  • In order to understand the buffering behavior of hygroscopic fabric under subzero conditions, microclimates of the wool and PET clothing system were measured and compared. Vertical type Man-Clothing-Environment simulator was used to measure the microclimate at the environmental temperature of -10$^{\circ}C$. Buffering capacity was quantified by calculating from the depth and width of the hyperbolic curve of the graph. Hydrophilic wool fabrics showed better buffering capacity at the transient state than hydrophobic PET fabrics; which is attributed to the heat of sorption.

  • Clothing pressure is considered the essential factor affecting the comfort of clothing, so it is crucial that it is measured precisely. The purpose of this study is to construct a prototype using the Adafruit Flora as the Arduino system, which can be used as a wearable framework for easy, low-cost, and precise clothing pressure measurement. The study also aims to determine how best to conduct the procedure of sensor calibration. To optimize the accuracy of the sensors, the calibration procedure was implemented using mathematical methods that combined polynomial and exponential regression in a hybrid approach. The prototype can easily measure clothing pressure even during active movements, as seen in the detection of stable signals. In addition, since the system was specifically proposed as a wearable patch that can be easily attached and removed as necessary, it can also be used to standardize the value of clothing pressure in each movement.

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest the standard sizing system and grading rules according to body types of elderly women. The data were the anthropometric measurements of 329 women aged 60 and older measured in 2001. To determine the effective and useful clothing sizing system, the distribution of hip girth and bust girth of 3 body types which were suggested in KS K 0055 was analyzed, and the significant difference among adjoining hip girth ranges was analyzed, too. And the sizes of major body parts that were used for manufacturing clothing were made to have regular interval between each clothing sizes. From this study, we certified that each different sizing system for 3 body types to manufacture more suitable clothing for elderly women was necessary and suggested the standard size for each body type. And we also suggested the patternmaking sizes that were needed to manufacture ready-made clothing. On the basis of standard size, we suggested the grading rules for 3 body types. And we verified the propriety of the grading rules for 3 body types through the fitting test, and we knew that the grading rules for 3 body types of this study was very useful to manufacture clothing for elderly women.

  • The functions of the clothing have been changed rapidly in modern society. That means people want to show oneself strongly by the clothing. In other words, the social aspect of the clothing's function which is the expression of own's personality and satisfaction one's desire is emphasized. This study is aimed at taking a look at the functions of modern clothing. The modern clothing has the various functions which are related to the changing of the social system. The result of the study are as follows: With the differentiation of society and institutionalization, the clothing is recognized as the medium which shows one's status and is restricted by people. In modern society as mass society, the system of the social position collapsed. People has the inclination to express own's consciousness, personality and existence intensely. Also, the functions of clothing became diverse. That means the clothing is influenced by the human's consciousness, a sense of values and became the medium which reflects the people's life. This change of the costume means the clothing focus on the functional factor of the free-style clothing getting out of rational value. Therefore, the change of clothing is not the change of the design but the change of value of the clothing, one's way of thinking about the clothing, the change of human life in whole society and the culture. With the changing way of life, the change of the clothing has the system in which the design changes. Therefore, I found that the we have to take a look not the change of the factors which influence the fashion but the functions of the clothing itself.
