  • Most of established study about consumer behavior was directly connected abstract value with concrete purchase behavior, nevertheless several recognizable process is intervened between abstract concept and concept behavior. Of course researchers suggest hierarchical causality through means-end chain model. However empirical study is insufficient. And it's not certain whether the consumer's personal value affects actual evaluation about product attributes. Thus the purpose of this paper was to explore hierarchical causality of personal value, benefits sought and clothing product attributes and to suggest an alternative approach method. For the empircial study the data sets were collected through 150 female consumers living in Pusan and SAS and LISREL VIII were used for statistical analysis. As the result, hierarchical causality suggested by means-end chain model was positively substantiated. That is, benefits sought is differentiated according to personal value, and actual product attributes are indirectly influenced by personal value through benefits sought. Benefits sought are found to be key mediating variables.

A screening process has taken place to select consumers with purchasing experiences of retailor PBs. The data is analyzed by 'Structural Equation Modeling' of Amos 5.0 to verify consumer attitude formation model on private apparel brand. • Some consumers question the safety of imported fashion products. We examine the effects of the use of an ecolabel, product category, and country of origin on consumer responses such as perceived physical risk, attitude towards a product, subjective norm, and intention to purchase imported fashion products. A sample of 508 adults in their 30s to 40s participated in online survey experiments. The survey experiments used 2 (the use of the ecolabel vs no label) × 4 (country of origin: China, Dominican Republic, Norway, and the United States) between-subjects and 4 (product category: men/women's wear, children's wear, underwear, and accessories) within-sub-jects factorial design. A total of 32 product-catalog images (stimuli) and eight versions of the questionnaire were developed. The use of the ecolabel is identified as having a significantly lower perceived physical risk than the no-label. The consumers' perceived physical risk also differs depending on product category and country of origin. Consumers perceive a higher physical risk about children's wear and underwear than other product categories as well as fashion products sourced from developing countries than from developed countries. The reduction of physical risk is found to facilitate consumers' purchase decision-making process.

  • This study aims to verify the psychological evaluation that consumers undergo when accepting virtual fitting services while shopping online. The Theory of Interactive Media Effects (TIME) was applied to determine the impact of the perceived affordance of media on consumer response through immersion. An online survey was conducted targeting female consumers in their 20s and 30s, and 271 responses were collected and used for empirical analysis. The results of the analysis showed that interactivity and immediacy had a positive effect on telepresence. Telepresence, in turn, affected perceived usefulness and enjoyment, which then significantly affected purchase intention. In addition, some paths confirmed the moderating effect of consumer innovativeness. In consumers with high innovativeness, interactivity was found to have a greater influence on telepresence and perceived usefulness had a more significant influence on purchase intention than in consumers with low innovativeness. Conversely, in consumers with low innovativeness, perceived enjoyment was found to have a greater influence on purchase intention than in consumers with high innovativeness. The significance of this study is that it expands research on customer perception of virtual fitting services within online shopping platforms.
