At a time when the direction of the middle and high school curriculum is being discussed in line with the change in the future education paradigm to the 4th industrial revolution and the post-COVID-19 era, this study attempted to establish the identity of middle and high school clothing life education by exploring the clothing life contents with content analysis method and analyzing the 'clothing life industry' related educational content of the curriculum revision period. Following the revision of the curriculum, the contents related to the middle and high school 'clothing life industry' were not systematic. In the 2022 revised curriculum, the 'clothing life industry' and the digital fashion industry are presented as content related to the 'clothing life industry', so it is expected that the textbooks implemented in the educational field in the future will mention specific content about this. In addition, research on the direction of sustainable clothing life is also needed because the 'clothing life industry' can be an important cause of environmental pollution from production to consumption. Above all, it is expected that follow-up studies will be conducted to enhance the value of clothing life education in the future in the reality that the awareness of middle and high school clothing life education is low.
The purpose of this study was to identify Intra-industry phenomena of Clothing Trade in Korea. For this purpose, changes of Korean clothing trade were analyzed in connection with the theory of intra-industry trade during the 1990's. Formerly, changes of Korean clothing trade were analyzed by the trade orientation index and that of the trade with each Korean clothing trade partner particularly. secondly, tendency and major determinants of two-way trade or intra-industry trade of Korean clothing trade were analyzed. The results of the study were as follows : First, the trade pattern of clothing in Korea was strong export orientation. Since the mid 1990's, however, this tendency has been weakened. Second, tendency of one-way trade is strong generally. but since the mid 1990's, tendency of intra-industry(two-way) trade increased. The intra-industry(two-way) trade tendency with Hong Kong and China is especially strong. Third, from the viewpoint of determinants of intra-industry trade in clothing industry, the determinant is distance between countries in 1994. Also the determinant is trade tendency of the country in 1999.
Our country's fur clothing industry has rapidly grown for a short time since it started with simple needlework of fur pieces, and now it is still developing as export industry that some enterprises besides general business firm export more than ten million dollars a year. However, it is true that fur clothing industry is still in unsatisfactory level in its size and system, compared with manufacturing or leather industry. Of course, we import crude material and processed fur on an entire base, and we have few wild fur on an entire base, and we have few wild fur animals because of our natural condition and it is hard to breed them. On the other hand, the world's fur industry shows that the demand of fur clothes is increasing as fur animal breeding is improved and developed and supply has become rather abundant with the help of fur clothing fashion since late 19th century : Also, there is a trend that some developed countries depend on importing rather than self-prodoction because of the character-istic of labor-concetntraled fur industry. Accordingly, considering this situation, we can expect fur clothing industry as promising export industry by analyzing the present situation of our country's fur clothing industry and suggesting its problems and solutions, and here are developing plans for growing fur clothing industry as promising export industry. First, smoothing delivery of crude material. Second, making high quality products and diversifying goods. Third, establishing effective competition system in fur clothing industry. Fourth, raising skilled man power. Lastly, there should be coopetation among the related fields in the aspect of policy including the support from the government.
This research aims to develop based clothing design process tailored to the industry-university collaborative setting and apply it in a fashion design class. into three distinct phases: designing and organizing our fashion design class, conducting our class at a university, and gathering student feedback. First, we conducted a literature review on employing new technologies in traditional clothing design processes. We consulted with industry professionals from the Samsung C&T Fashion Group to develop an AI-based clothing design process. We then developed in-class learning activities that leveraged fashion brand product databases, a supervised learning AI model, and operating an AI-based Creativity Support Tool (CST). Next, we setup an industry-university fashion design class at a university in South Korea. Finally, we obtained feedback from undergraduate students who participated in the class. The survey results showed a satisfaction level of 4.7 out of 5. The evaluations confirmed that the instructional methods, communication, faculty, and student interactions within the class were both adequate and appropriate. These research findings highlighted that our AI-based clothing design process applied within the fashion design class led to valuable data-driven convergent thinking and technical experience beyond that of traditional clothing design processes.

This study investigates the competitiveness of the clothing and textile industry in North Korea, compare to those of China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam from 1993 to 2010; in addition, it explores the potential cooperation between South Korea and North Korea. First, a revealed comparative advantage (RCA) was used to investigate the competitive performance of clothing and textile industry in North Korea. The results reveal that North Korea and Viet Nam had superior comparative advantages from 1993 to 2010. Second, in order to investigate the factors that affect the competitive performance, depth interviews based on Porter's Diamond of Competitive Advantage were designed and completed by government officers and practitioners working in the clothing and textile industry field. The results show that cheap labor, the stable demand of South Korea and China for basic products, lack of supporting and related industries, and organizational power highly influence the competitive performance of clothing and textile in North Korea. This result provides insight into the potential and limitations of the clothing and textile business. In addition, this study provides a better understanding of the effects of inter-Korean economic cooperation in socialist states.
The Korean clothing industry according to historical documents has a long and deep history. We can deduce the fact that cloth in material was self reliant during the pre-historic period. Although we can not find evidence of clothing material trade from the Three Kingdom era we find active trade with Kang, Jin of China and Japan followed by the spread of Korean clothing material manufacturing skills to Japan. Meanwhile the actual progress of the clothing industry came with the manufacture of cotton stuff in the Koryo era and the official and unofficial trade which brought import and export activity to Korea. Also the manufacture of clothing material by women labor although backward as it may be can be seen as stroug evidence that women labor continuously kept up the development of Korean industry. After the Koryo dynasty trade in clothing material and other clothing items contined with other nations. In conclusion we must not think that the Korean clothing industry started active development from the Chosun dynasty. It is important that we realize this fact and looking at the continuous progress of the Korean clothing industry through historical documents from early history to the Chosun era we rightly evaluate history and be proud of this legacy and also reevaluate the wrong views held before.
This research attempts to evaluate the globalization concept and the development of advance progress of the Korean clothing and textile industry toward globalization. Globalization is driven by technology, which create the homogenization of tastes. In the business sector, globalization drives not only the physical presence in the foreign countries, but the way of looking at world markets and organizing as a basis for construction. The process of globalization of a company simply consists of exportation, establishment of foreign branch offices and overseas operations. Entrance to the overseas market can be divided into two categories, where one is based upon exportation method, and the other is based upon direct foreign investment. To observe the development of globalization of the Korean clothing and textile industry, a analysis of exportation and direct foreign investment by the industry was conducted. The result revealed the following: (i) The exportation and direct foreign investment of Korean clothing and textile industry has been focused in Asia, and the industry is influenced by cultural and geographic consciousness: and (ii) although the clothing and textile industry of Korea is still incomplete when compared to all industry, the study shows that globalization of the textile and garment industry is well underway.

The increased average life expectancy and an aging society mean a lot of change socially and economically. With the increased population of the new elderly generation, holding a desire to pursue high quality life, plans and marketing strategies towards this group have progressed in the clothing industry. Purchases of clothing will lead the silver clothing industry to a huge consumer market and silver clothing brands are expected to have a lot of potential to grow, especially in department stores in Korea. From now on, there is a need for attacking the market with distinct tactics and characteristics that will satisfy the elderly consumers emotionally. Psychological views towards the elderly generation must be changed and our unique environment state must be considered. With all that, there is also a strong need for researches and development technically and industrially.
