This research has examined the relationship among film interest, clothing involvement, attitude towards ppl, preference for fashion products, and purchasing intention. In april 2014, 210 university students in Seoul and Incheon filled out a survey. Frequency analysis, k-cluster analysis, t-test, anova, duncan's multiple range test, regression, and mediation regression analysis were used to analyze. Students who were more interested in film were higher in clothing involvement. Clothing involvement had larger influence on preference for fashion products and purchasing intention than film interest. Students highly involved in clothing had more positive attitude towards ppl, preference for fashion products and purchasing intentions. Clothing involvement, attitude towards ppl and preference for fashion products directly influenced purchasing intention. The preference for fashion products had the largest influence on purchasing intention. The preference for fashion products and attitude towards ppl had mediation influences between clothing involvement and purchasing intention.
The main purpose of this study is to examine the gay men's clothing attitude and preference according to gender role, for reviewing their clothing culture. Specifically, this study focuses on 1) investigating gay men's clothing attitude(brand orientation, conformity, fashion leadership, sexual attractiveness), 2) identifying their clothing preference, 3) comparing the difference of lifestyle, and 4) comparing the difference of their preference color and wearing the accessary, according to their gender role. Futhermore, this study compares those factors between gay men and heterosexual men. The data was collected from 168 persons(76 gay men and 92 heterosexual men) in LGHRF(Lesbian & Gay Human Rights Federation), Korea Gaymen's Coalition and adult men living in Seoul. To analyze data, the methodology adopted in this study is frequency, t-test, and ANOVA. The results found in this study are as followings: First, sexual attractiveness was significant factor for the gay men's clothing attitude and not concern about conformity. According to the gender role, bottom, who have much of the woman in composition, was more higher for the fashion leadership than top, who have a propensity for masculine. Second, gay men prefer to masculine, simple and casual style. According to the gender role, 'top' was more likely to masculine, simple and formal style rather than 'Bottom'. Third, Gay men were much more concern about a cultural life style. Furthermore, a preference color for both group was blue. Especially, gay men tended to prefer a chromatic color. The implication getting from conclusion in this study was to study Gay men's taste for a fashion, clothing attitude and their preference to purchase, etc., in considering their buying power for clothing in a fashion market.
The Purpose of this study was to investigate the preference of fashion style, the clothing attitude and the preferred fashion style based on sex-role attitude. Sample.; in this study were 305 white collar adult male in Seoul, Korea. The stimuli consisted of 16 color photographs made by identical manipulations of 4 independent variables (jacket, pants, vest, neck-tie) consisting of two levels each (classic and fashion style). According to the clothing attitude based on the preference analysis of the fashion style; for jacket, the fashion oriented group had high fashion interest, but had no relation with status symbols consciousness, clothing conformity, individuality; for vest, the fashion oriented group had high fashion interest (II) and individuality, but had no relation with status symbols 4. According to the clothing attitude based on the sex-role attitude, the group of masculine and feminine had high score in fashion interest (II), status symbols consciousness, and individuality

The purpose of this study wasisto investigate the influence of attitude toward sex and body satisfaction in the on interest, preference, and buying intention of body exposed clothing among female university students. The Susubject were 397 female students from 3 different universities in Seoul. The instruments of this study wereconsisted of response scale and stimuli. Thirty-four four items on a of 5-point Likert scale were used to measure the attitude towards sex and body satisfaction The stimuli were 6 types of different body exposed clothing style on line drawing. The results were as follow; 1. Most female students were liberal in sexual attitude and had a high level of body satisfaction. Especially, younger students were more liberal than older students. 2. Designs with the greatest interest, preference and that were most interested in, prefer and had buying intention were Camisole, V-neckline and low-neckline designed clothes. 3. Attitude toward sexual value has a strong effect on interest, preference, and buying intention of body exposed clothing. And also ilneterest of body exposed clothing has more effect on buying intention than preference.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between three aspects of clothing behavior and sex role attitude. For Sex Role: sex role attitude was measured by Osmond-Martin's Sex Role Attitude Scale and Items selected from Smith, Ferree and Miller's Feminism Scale. For Clothing Behavior: a unisex clothing attitude questionnaire was developed for this study, and general clothing behavior was assessed with Kim; Won: Kim: Lee; and Jung's questionnaires dealing with modesty and the yin-yang continuum of design preference. The questionnaries were administered to a sample of 366 junior high school girls in Seoul. The data were analyzed by Pearson correlation. The results were that, liberal attitudes toward sex role were positively related to unisex clothing attitude: liberal attitudes toward sex role were negatively related to modesty in clothing. Liberal attitudes toward sex role were related to the yin-yang continuum of design preference in clothing; that is, the persons having more liberal attitudes toward sex role preferred yang (masculine) design.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between social attitude, attitude toward conformity-individuality, fashion interest, and fashion preference among high school boys and girls and college men and women. The results were : 1. Social attitude was significantly related to attitude toward conformity-individuality and fashion interest. 2. Students who had higher fashion interests prefered fashionable clothing styles. 3. Women had higher fashion interests than men. 4. College students had higher fashion interests and prefered fashionable clothing styles than high school students. 5. The purpose of this study was to identify the variables which could predict advertisement preference and intention to purchase product in sexuality-oriented fashion advertising. The data were collected using questionnaires which contained nine advertisements of Guess jeans, selected from Vogue magazine published from 1990 to 1996.441 college students (female= 225, male=216) living in Seoul, Korea participated in the study. The data were analyzed by factor analysis and stepwise elimination method of multiful regression analysis. The results of this study were as follows: First, seven factors of New Young Generation oriented characteristics were identified: fashion, individuality, preferences of caffa or reggae bar with affective mood, expression of emotion, individualism, preferences of a foreign-made product/western culture oriented tastes and activity of fan club/chatting through personal computers. Three factors of fashion advertising involvement were identified: social involvement, hedonic involvement and utilitarian involvement. Second, the variables which predicted preferences of advertisements in sexuality-oriented fashion advertising were perceived eroticism levels, hedonic involvenent, prior brand attitude and preference of a foreign-made product/western culture oriented tastes in the case of females, while perceived eroticism levels, hedonic involvenent prior brand attitude, preference of a foreign-made product/western culture oriented tastes and activity of fan club/ chatting through personal computers were identified as predictor variables for males. Third, the intention to purchase product was predicted by preference of a foreign-made product/western culture oriented tastes, prior brand attitude, hedonic involvenent and fashion for females, and by perceived eroticism levels, fashion opinion leadership, hedonic involvenent and prior brand attitude in the case of males.
This study examined the fashion lifestyle of Chinese women in their 20s and analyzed the purchasing behavior of clothing and attitudes toward the Korean image, Korean Wave, Korean fashion, and preference for Korean fashion brands according to a fashion lifestyle. The major results were as follows: 1) Fashion lifestyle was comprised of factors for the pursuit of personality, pursuit of aesthetic, pursuit of brand, and pursuit of economy. The cluster analysis classified them into groups of: Economy/Personality Oriented, Aesthetic/Brand Oriented, and Fashion-Indifferent. 2) Information source and store patronage were different among the three consumer groups. 3) Attitude toward the Korean image, Korean Wave, Korean fashion, and preference for Korean fashion brands were different among the three consumer groups. These results can be used as the basic data or information for fashion companies that are developing marketing strategies for Chinese women in their 20s.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between self-concept, clothing attitude and clothing buying behavior. The subjects used for the study were 300 male and female college students. The results of the study were as follows. The self-concept of subjects were identified four types(self-confident, positive to self, self-convinced and pessimistic). Self-confident type had the highest scores on self-concept and pessimistic type was the opposite. The clothing attitude was classified into 5 types(rational coordinative, clothing concerned, frugal, clothing showy and others conscious). Rational coordinative type and clothing concerned type were regarded more importantly than other types. The clothing buying behavior was emerged 5 types(economical, diffident, pleasure-seeking, impulsive and name-brand preferred). An economical efficiency was the most important factor in clothing buying behavior. The results of correlation between self-concept and clothing attitude showed that person who has more positive self-concept tends to have more interest and satisfaction toward clothing as well as tendency of showing off and rational coordination. The correlation between clothing attitude and clothing buying behavior showed that person who is more conscious to others tends to have more preference for name-brand products.
