In this paper, we developed the signal generator of GNSS navigation signals and analysis the performance of DCO(Digitally Clock Oscillator) compensation algorithm for cumulative distance error thorough simulation. In general, To generate a GNSS signal calculates the Doppler and Initial Pseudorange by using the location information of the receiver and the satellite. The GNSS signal generator generates a signal by determine the carrier and code output frequency using the Doppler information which is calculated as a function of time. The output frequency of the carrier and code would be used the DCO scheme. At this time, It extract the bit and code information on a for each sample by accumulating the DCO. an error of Pseudorange is generated by the cumulative error of the DCO. If Pseudorange error occurs, so that the influence to and operation of the receiver. Therefore, in this paper, we implemented the accumulated error compensation algorithm of the DCO to remove the accumulated error components DCO thereof, Pseudorange accumulated error is removed through the experiment, it was confirmed to be a high accuracy can be operated.

This paper describes an efficient hardware implementation of lightweight encryption algorithm LEA-128/192/256 which supports for three master key lengths of 128/192/256-bit. To achieve area-efficient and low-power implementation of LEA crypto- processor, the key scheduler block is optimized to share hardware resources for encryption/decryption key scheduling of three master key lengths. In addition, a parallel register structure and novel operating scheme for key scheduler is devised to reduce clock cycles required for key scheduling, which results in an increase of encryption/decryption speed by 20~30%. The designed LEA crypto-processor has been verified by FPGA implementation. The estimated performances according to master key lengths of 128/192/256-bit are 181/162/109 Mbps, respectively, at 113 MHz clock frequency.

Modular multiplication is one of the most important arithmetic operations in public-key cryptography such as elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) and RSA, and the performance of modular multiplier is a key factor influencing the performance of public-key cryptographic hardware. An efficient hardware implementation of word-based Montgomery modular multiplication algorithm is described in this paper. Our modular multiplier was designed to support eleven field sizes for prime field GF(p) and binary field GF(2k) as defined by SEC2 standard for ECC, making it suitable for lightweight hardware implementations of ECC processors. The proposed architecture employs pipeline scheme between the partial product generation and addition operation and the modular reduction operation to reduce the clock cycles required to compute modular multiplication by 50%. The hardware operation of our modular multiplier was demonstrated by FPGA verification. When synthesized with a 65-nm CMOS cell library, it was realized with 33,635 gate equivalents, and the maximum operating clock frequency was estimated at 147 MHz.

This paper introduces a low-power voltage-controlled oscillator(VCO) with filters that consist of resistors and capacitors. The proposed VCO contains a 5-stage current mode buffer, and each buffer cell has a resistor-capacitor filter that connects input and output terminals. The filter adds a zero to the buffer cell. Because the zero moves the oscillation condition to high frequencies, the proposed VCO can generate a high frequency clock with low power consumption. The proposed circuit has been designed with 0.18 ㎛ CMOS process. The power consumption is 9.83 mW at 2.7 GHz. The proposed VCO shows 3.64 pJ/Hz in our simulation study, whereas the conventional circuit shows 4.79 pJ/Hz, indicating that our VCO achieves 24% reduction in power consumption.

In this paper, we propose a power-efficient scheduling scheme for lightly loaded multicore processors which contain more processing cores than running tasks. The proposed scheme activates a portion of available cores and inactivates the other unused cores in order to save power consumption. The tasks are assigned to the activated cores based on a heuristic mechanism for fast task assignment. Each activated core executes its assigned tasks with the optimal clock frequency which minimizes the power consumption of the tasks while meeting their deadlines. Evaluation shows that the proposed scheme saves up to 78% power consumption of the previous method which activates as many processing cores as possible for the execution of the given tasks.

In this paper, we presents a CDR circuit for $2^{nd}$-generation AiPi+, one of the Intra-panel Interface. The speed of the proposed clock and data recovery is increased to 1.25 Gbps compared with that of AiPi+. The DLL-based CDR architecture is used to generate the multi-phase clocks. We propose the simple scheme for frequency detector (FD) to mitigate the harmonic-locking and reduce the complexity. In addition, the duty cycle corrector that limits the maximum pulse width is used to avoid the problem of missing clock edges due to the mismatch between rising and falling time of VCDL's delay cells. The proposed CDR is implemented in 0.18 um technology with the supply voltage of 1.8 V. The active die area is $660\;{\mu}m\;{\times}\;250\;{\mu}m$, and supply voltage is 1.8 V. Peak-to-Peak jitter is less than 15 ps and the power consumption of the CDR except input buffer, equalizer, and de-serializer is 5.94 mW.

Recently, many digital signal processing(DSP) applications such as H.264, CDMA and MP3 are predominant tasks for modern high-performance portable devices. These applications are generally computation-intensive, and therefore, require quite complicated accelerator units to improve performance. Designing such specialized, yet fixed DSP accelerators takes lots of effort. Therefore, DSPs with multiple accelerators often have a very poor time-to-market and an unacceptable area overhead. To avoid such long time-to-market and high-area overhead, dynamically reconfigurable DSP architectures have attracted a lot of attention lately. Dynamically reconfigurable DSPs typically employ a multi-functional DSP accelerator which executes similar, yet different multiple kinds of computations for DSP applications. With this type of dynamically reconfigurable DSP accelerators, the time to market reduces significantly. However, integrating multiple functionalities into a single IP often results in excessive control and area overhead. Therefore, delay and power consumption often turn out to be quite excessive. In this thesis, to reduce power consumption of dynamically reconfigurable IPs, we propose a novel fine-grained clock gating scheme, and to reduce size of dynamically reconfigurable IPs, we propose a compact multiplier-less multiplication unit where shifters and adders carry out constant multiplications.

This paper describes a design of 5-stage pipelined de-blocking filter with power reduction scheme and proposes a efficient memory architecture and filter order for high performance H.264/AVC Decoder. Generally the de-blocking filter removes block boundary artifacts and enhances image quality. Nevertheless filter has a few disadvantage that it requires a number of memory access and iterated operations because of filter operation for 4 time to one edge. So this paper proposes a optimized filter ordering and efficient hardware architecture for the reduction of memory access and total filter cycles. In proposed filter parallel processing is available because of structured 5-stage pipeline consisted of memory read, threshold decider, pre-calculation, filter operation and write back. Also it can reduce power consumption because it uses a clock gating scheme which disable unnecessary clock switching. Besides total number of filtering cycle is decreased by new filter order. The proposed filter is designed with Verilog-HDL and functionally verified with the whole H.264/AVC decoder using the Modelsim 6.2g simulator. Input vectors are QCIF images generated by JM9.4 standard encoder software. As a result of experiment, it shows that the filter can make about 20% total filter cycles reduction and it requires small transposition buffer size.

This paper presents a VLSI design for lifting-based discrete wavelet transform (DWT) 9/7 filter using multiplierless multiple constant multiplication (MCM) architecture. This proposed design is based on the lifting scheme using pattern search for folded architecture. Shift-add operation is adopted to optimize the multiplication process. The conventional serial operations of the lifting data flow can be optimized into parallel ones by employing paralleling and pipelining techniques. This optimized design has simple hardware architecture and requires less computation without performance degradation. Furthermore, hardware utilization reaches 100%, and the number of registers required is significantly reduced. To compare our work with previous methods, we implemented the architecture using Verilog HDL. We also executed simulation based on the logic synthesis using $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS standard cells. The proposed architecture shows hardware reduction of up to 60.1% and 44.1% respectively at 200 MHz clock compared to previous works. This implementation results indicate that the proposed design performs efficiently in hardware cost, area, and power consumption.

In this paper, a different type of pulse width modulation (PWM) control scheme for a buck converter is introduced. The proposed buck converter uses PWM with frequency hopping and a low quiescent.current low dropout (LDO) voltage regulator with a power supply rejection ratio enhancer to reduce high spurs, harmonics and output voltage ripples. The low quiescent.current LDO voltage regulator is not described in this paper. A three-bit binary-to-thermometer decoder scheme and voltage ripple controller (VRC) is implemented to achieve low voltage ripple less than 3mV to increase the efficiency of the buck converter. An internal clock that is synchronized to the internal switching frequency is used to set the hopping rate. A center frequency of 2.5MHz was chosen because of the bluetooth low energy (BLE) application. This proposed DC-DC buck converter is available for low-current noise-sensitive loads such as BLE and radio frequency loads in portable communications devices. Thus, a high-efficiency and low-voltage ripple is required. This results in a less than 2% drop in the regulator's efficiency, and a less than 3mV voltage ripple, with -26 dBm peak spur reduction operating in the buck converter.
