Objectives : The purpose of this study is to evaluate clinical utilization by measuring compliance with the use of mobile health applications (AtopyPHR developed in a previous study) for patients with atopic dermatitis. Methods : Based on the AtopyPHR and the input period and frequency survey results for each symptom item, a scenario for measuring compliance was derived. The study period was 4 weeks. Participants installed AtopyPHR app and Telegram app on their smartphones, conducted user training on the app, and recorded symptoms using the app for 4 weeks. At the 2nd and 4th week visits, the AtopyPHR data recorded by the user can be viewed on the web page and used for medical decision. Compliance was analyzed by the date the symptoms were recorded. Results : There were 28 participants, all (100%) were compliant, and the compliance was 96.8. The patients were 1 to 18 years old, and the average age was 8.2±5.7 years, 10 males and 18 females. The actual date of participation in recording symptoms was 28.6±0.56 on average. Compared to Week 1, compliance decreased at Week 2, and Week 4 had the highest compliance. Daily check, daily emotion, stool/urine/sleep, and meal management showed high compliance, SCORAD and quality of life were higher than required to record. Conclusions : AtopyPHR was effective in compliance. The results of this study could be used to collect personal health data in daily life through the AtopyPHR, improving participant compliance. It is considered to be meaningful because it measured the compliance with the symptom record actually recorded using the mobile app rather than a questionnaire. This study may be useful not only for personal health care but also for medical decisions, as opinions are given by experts who treat atopic dermatitis.
Six English Bull dogs from the same dog training camp were referred with main complaints of stridor, gagging and coughing. Diagnostic imaging studies on these dogs revealed hypoplastic trachea with/without bronchopneumonia. The mean age of affected dogs was $4.83{\pm}2.63$ months, while the mean body weight was $9.03{\pm}5.30$ kg. The mean ratio of the tracheal diameter to the thoracic inlet distance (TD/TI) was $0.085{\pm}0.022$ (normally 0.16 or greater), whereas the mean ratio tracheal diameter to the width of the third rib (TD/W3R) was $1.36{\pm}0.36$ (normally 2 or greater). All dogs had marked inspiratory dyspnea with variable degree of coughing. Of 6 dogs, 4 dogs had either bronchitis or bronchopneumonia. Treatment with antibiotics and bronchodilators made improvement on clinical signs on these dogs. Although some dogs still had mild inspiratory dyspnea (especially after exercise or excitement), most dogs live normally.

Objective: This study was conducted for the nationwide statistical survey of poison exposure to provide the rationale for establishing and developing the poison control center (PCC) in Korea. Design: Study group for Korea PCC in National Medical Center reviewed the medical literature on poison exposure of Korea from death reports of National Statistical Office (NSO), the toxic exposure statistics from the report of National Health Insurance Corporation (NHIC), and poison related data from 119 ambulance services (FD) for the purpose of obtaining the poison and its related data. We also conducted questionnaire from the expert who work in emergency medicine department at the designated 320 emergency medical centers in Korea for the preparedness and acknowledgement about necessity of PCC and their need for that. Results: We reviewed the reliable data from the death report of NSO, poison exposure data from NHIC, and running report from FD. Poisoning death occured at home ($36.7\%$) and hospital ($46.3\%$). Poisoning are more common in rural area than the city area. Patients were seen more frequently in the local clinics than in any hospital. The drugs ($45.7\%$) and pesticide ($18.1\%$) are common poison. Common place to poison exposure were residential area ($39.9\%$), industry ($9\%$). mass residential area ($7\%$). and farm ($6\%$). The education level were primary school ($33.2\%$), high school ($23.7\%$), and middle schol ($21.3\%$) in order. We have to provide the poison guideline for lay public to understand easily, and for medical experts. The medical facilities need to be invested and have more interest for toxicology. All medical staff who work in the designated emergency medical center want PCC to establish. They want to have poison information from hospital ($91.3\%$), regional poison information center ($45.0\%$), regional poison control center ($52.5\%$), nationwide poison information center ($48.8\%$), nationwide poison control center ($46.25\%$), as a role of poison control center. They also want that pcc have poison epidemiologic study and statstics, training program for the experts, registration of rare case of posion on website, reflection of policies to activities for antidote production etc., speedy consultation system for poison analysis, public education, establishment of both regional and national pee, etc. Conclusion: Poison center must be established to provide poison information for all the public and medical experitise, focusing rural area and private clinic, to detoxify, to reduce the cost, time, morbity, and mortality through the whole country.
The goal of this study is to review and define the role of nurses' who are engaged in Korea Oriental medical treatments in oriental medical hospitals. We think this study can contribute to the development of 'Korea Oriental medical science & nursing science' and 'Public health care'. A large portion of nurses's role in Korea Oriental Medicine(KOM. 한방/한의학) is assistance to doctors treatment. But besides of these role, we think there are many things that are riskless for nurses to do alone. But in present situation, few nurses in KOM. have enough knowledge to treat these medical treatments alone. So we believe this study will provide a way for nurses to participate more actively in KOM. public health care. With the goal of this study, we checked all medical treatments that have been practiced in oriental medical hospitals, and classified these treatments with some groups. And we organized a inquiry. At this inquiry, we ask 'What is the adequate role of nurses in Korea Oriental medical treatment? & What kind of treatment can nurses do?' We got 58 responses from nationwide 121 hospitals. From these response, more than half of them said nurses can do following medical treatment in the oriental medical hospital: 1. starting and ending part of following treatments; External treatments by instrument, by hydrotheraphy, by herb, by suction, moxibustion, Manipulative therapies on soft structure, Living and mind-body therapies. 2. pulling out Acupuncture. 3. boiling herb, judgement on dosing temperature, assisting in dosing, 4. assisting Diet, 5. operating from Living and mind-body therapies. 6. leading Physical training However, these results are coming out from present situation. So, after well-oriented instructions for nurses, this study will be need to carry out again. From this study, we suggest a desirable curriculum for students who study 'Korea Oriental Nursing Science.' That is to say, at basic course students take 4 subject for 6 credits. And at as an expert course, it should be dividend into Clinical Nursing Specialist in KOM., Self-care Nursing Specialist, Regimen Nursing Specialist and take 17 credits per each course.
Objective : The purpose of this study was to develop a competency indicators of occupational therapists for occupation-based intervention by conducting a Delphi survey to occupation-based intervention experts. Methods : After analyzing the data related to occupational therapists indicators in korea, the results of Delphi survey were collected three times from October to December 2016. Based on the results, we developed occupational therapists competency indicators for occupation-based intervention through expert panel's opinions. Results : Based on the eight competency elements, the competency indicators were examined by 133 primary and 133 secondary competency indicators. Finally, 131 competency indicators were developed based on 8 components as occupational therapist competence indicators for occupation-based intervention. The results of the third delphi showed a high level of content validity of .95, stability of .10, convergence of 0, and consensus of 1. Conclusion : The developed occupational therapist competence indicators for occupation-based intervention could be used in various clinical decision making such as occupation-based intervention, education training, education development and evaluation.
Purpose: This study is descriptive correlation study to identify the factors on career identity of nursing students. Methods: From october $15^{th}$ to november 5th, 2016, data was collected through convenience sampling of 177 college students based on C province, two G provinces. Statistical analysis of t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression analysis was performed through the SPSS WIN 21.0. Results: career identity is significantly positively related with self-esteem, and negatively related with depression (r=-.529, p<.001). Nursing students' verbal abuse is significantly positively related with sexual violence (r=.615, p<.001), depression (r=.540, p<.001) and sexual violence and depression are significantly negatively related (r=.299, p<.001) and depression and self-esteem are significantly negatively related (r=-.390, p<.001).Variables that affect career identity include depression, self-esteem, grade, and whether they belong to a specific hospital. The total explanation of career identity was 52.2%. Conclusions: These results suggest that educational intervention is needed to improve the career identity among nursing students. It is necessary to encourage students to proactively seek abuse preventive measures.

The purpose of this study was to investigate effect of low intensity resistance exercise and aerobic exercise on serum lipid level in chronic stroke patients. A total of 37 chronic stroke patients were enrolled in this study. The participants were allocated randomly to 2 groups: the low intensity resistance exercise group(n=19) and aerobic exercise group(n=18). Low intensity resistance exercise group took exercise with low intensity resistance for 50minutes, 5 times per week over a 8 week period. Aerobic exercise group received only aerobic exercise. We measured serum lipid level to compare of effectiveness both exercises. Paired t test was executed to determine differences between pre and post exercise. For all analyses, a significant level set at p<.05. The low intensity resistance exercise group showed significant increase in TG, TC HDL-C and LDL-C(p<.05). The aerobic exercise group had significantly higher TC and LDL-C (p<.05). Theses results suggest that low intensity resistance exercise and aerobic exercise are feasible for stroke patients by improving motivation and interest. Further studies is necessary to clinical implication classified by onset time and disability level.

The demands for specially trained hemodialysis nurses are increasing as the population requiring maintenance hemodialysis expands. However, there has been no standardized training program for hemodialysis nurses in South Korea. The study was conducted to develop and evaluate a hemodialysis nurse educational program (HNEP). The effects of education using the HNEP were assessed by levels of hemodialysis-specific knowledge, self-efficacy and satisfaction. A total of 25 registered nurses participated in the HNEP which consists of 20 week education (classroom theory for 10 weeks and clinical practice for 10 weeks) between April and September, 2011. Knowledge levels were compared before and after the HNEP using paired t-test. Self-efficacy and satisfaction levels were also evaluated after the program using a scale of 1-5, 5 being the highest and 1 being the lowest. Knowledge levels were significantly increased after the HNEP (Mean=13.96 vs. 17.80, t=-7.748, p=<.001). Self-efficacy and satisfaction levels with the program were high, $3.90{\pm}0.42$ and $4.02{\pm}0.77$, respectively. These findings suggest that the HNEP improved hemodialysis-specific knowledge, and levels of self-efficacy and satisfaction with the HNEP were reasonably, among the participants.

This study was to investigate the balancing and clinical abilities trunk muscle stabilization exercise and trunk muscle resistive exercise of stroke patients having surface changes in balance of body. The subjects of this study were 30 stroke patients(15 males and 15 females) that three times a week for 12 weeks at the same time point and with the same amount of exercise. They were separated into two groups and did reinforcing exercise on trunk muscle stabilization exercise and trunk muscle resistive exercise for three times a week for twelve weeks. It were measured balancing ability, they performed functional standing balance test, functional forward arm stretching test. performance-oriented mobility assessment, berg balance scale. The balancing exercises were modified from preceding studies and consisted of 6 difference exercises. The functional standing test with open and close eyes and performance-oriented mobility assessment, the trunk muscle stabilization exercise group and the trunk muscle resistive exercise group improved significantly. The forward arm stretching was test the trunk muscle stabilization exercise group more improved. This study found that the balancing exercise on trunk muscle stabilization exercise was more effective than trunk muscle resistive exercise for stroke patients. Thus, trunk muscle stabilization exercise has more positive effects on the improvement of balancing abilities of stroke patients.

Equine respiratory disease is a common cause of poor performance and training interruptions. The higher incidence rate of infectious upper respiratory disease (IURD) in thoroughbred racehorses at the Seoul Race Park coincided with the frequent stabling season, shorter stabling periods, and younger ages in this study. Incidence rates were also correlated with significantly lower proportions of cells expressing MHC class II-, CD2 antigen-, $CD4^+$- or $CD8^+$-T lymphocyte-, and B lymphocyte in IURD patients compared with healthy control groups in the summer and fall and in 2-and-3-year-old groups. The data suggested that movement and new environments may have resulted in immunosuppression and inappropriate responses to respiratory pathogens in IURD patients. The IURD incidence decreased with age, perhaps by the acquisition of immunity, and study results suggested that immunologic protection was associated with IURD, particularly in young thoroughbred racehorses. Streptococci isolates were identified in 11 of 72 IURD horses, and 3 of these isolates were identified as Streptococcus. equi subsp. equi. S. equi subsp. zooepidemicus was isolated from 2 of 23 IURD horses in the spring (8.7%), 5 of 23 in the summer (21.7%), and 1 of 6 in winter (16.7%). S. equi subsp. zooepidemicus (5%) was also identified in 3 of 61 isolates from clinically normal horses. Racetracks should implement anti-IURD protective measures by assessing the capacity of equine immunologic protection at the Park and by limiting the introduction of specific respiratory pathogens (such as S. equi subsp. equi) by preventing the access of infected but subclinical horses with a specified respiratory pathogen-free certification system prior to Park entry.
