The effects of geographical and climatic factors on annual and monthly pan and Penman evaporation were analyzed. 52 climatological stations were selected and trend analyses were performed. Furthermore, cluster analysis and multiple linear regression analysis were performed to understand the effects of geographical and climatic factors on pan and Penman evaporation. Based on stepwise multiple linear regression analysis, annual pan evaporation is proved to be mainly controlled by urbanization as geographical factor, and annual pan evaporation is also controlled by temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, and solar radiation as climatic factor. Especially wind speed is considered to be most significant climatic factor which affects pan evaporation. Meanwhile, Penman evaporation is not affected by geographical factors but it is affected by climate factors such as temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, and solar radiation except precipitation. Furthermore, the study results show that only proximity to coast affects pan evaporation trend on July; however, geographical and climatic factors do not affect pan evaporation trends in annual basis and monthly basis (January, April, and October). On the other hand, Penman evaporation trends were not affected by geographical factors in annual and monthly basises.
The study was conducted to investigate the relationships between tobacco leaf pro-duction rate by quality grade and the value of climatic factors in tobacco growing season. In flue cured tobacco(NC82), high quality was positively corretated with precipitation in late April and May, with sunshine' hours in early May and late June, with average temperature in middle July, significanly. In Burley tobacco(Br21), high quality was positively correlated with precipitation in late April and May, with sunshine hours in early May and early July, with average temperature in middle July, significantly.
Objectives: To evaluate the monthly variation in the airborne $(1{\rightarrow}3)-{\beta}$-D-glucan level throughout one year and its relationship with climatic factors (temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, hours of daylight, cloud cover, and pollen counts). Methods: A total of 106 samples were collected using a two-stage cyclone sampler at five outdoor sampling locations (on top of 5 university buildings). The kinetic limulus amebocyte lysate assay was used to obtain $(1{\rightarrow}3)-{\beta}$-D-glucan levels. Results: Airborne $(1{\rightarrow}3)-{\beta}$-D-glucan levels were significantly higher in the spring, particularly in April, and temperature was significantly related to $(1{\rightarrow}3)-{\beta}$-D-glucan levels (r=0.339, p<0.05). Conclusions: $(1{\rightarrow}3)-{\beta}$-D-glucan levels may be highest in the spring, and outdoor temperature may influence $(1{\rightarrow}3)-{\beta}$-D-glucan levels.

The study aims to determine the factors and their influence on the income from using public agricultural land of households. Public agricultural land is agricultural land, including land for growing annual crops, perennial crops, and land for aquaculture, leased by commune-level People's Committees with a lease term of not more than 5 years. Secondary data were collected for the 2017-2021 period at state agencies. Primary data were collected from a survey of 150 households renting public agricultural land. The regression model assumed that there were 28 factors belonging to 7 groups. The test results show that 25 factors affect income, and 03 factors do not. The group of COVID-19 pandemic factors has the strongest impact, followed by the groups of agricultural product market factors, land factors, capital factors, production cost factors, labor factors, and climatic factors. The impact rate of COVID-19 pandemic factors is the largest (23.00%); The impact rate of climatic factors is the smallest (6.04%). Proposals to increase income include good implementation of disease prevention and control; increasing the land lease term; accurately forecasting the supply and demand of the agricultural market; raising the level of the household head; ensuring sufficient production capital, and adapting to the climate.
This study was conducted to estimate site productivity of Quercus acutissima and Quercus mongolica by four forest climatic zones. We used site environmental variables (28 geographical and pedological factors) and site index as a site productivity indicator from nation-wide 23,315 stands. Based on multiple regression analysis between site index and major environmental variables, the best-fit multivaliate models were made by each species and forest climatic zone. Most of site index prediction models by species were regressed with seven to eight factors, including altitude, relief, soil depth, and soil moisture etc. For those models, three evaluation statistics such as mean difference, standard deviation of difference, and standard error of difference were applied to the test data set for the validation of the results. According to the evaluation statistics, it was found that the models by climatic zones and species fitted well to the test data set with relatively low bias and variation. Also having above middle of site index range, total area of productive sites for the two Quercus spp. estimated by those models would be about 6% of total forest area. Northern temperate forest zone and central temperate forest zone had more productive area than southern temperate forest zone and warm temperate forest zone. As a result, it was concluded that the regressive prediction with site environmental variables by climatic zones and species had enough estimation capability of forest site productivity.
This study was carried out to identify how soybean seed protein concentration is influenced by climatic factors. Twelve lines selected for seed protein concentration were studied in 13 environments of North Carolina. Sensitivity of seed protein concentration, total seed protein, and seed yield to climatic variables was investigated using a linear regression model. Best response models were determined using two stepwise selection methods, Maximum R-square and Stepwise Selection. There were wide climatic effects in seed protein concentration, total protein and seed yield. The highest protein concentration environment was characterized by the most high temperature days(HTD) and the smallest variance of average daily temperature range (VADTRg), while the lowest protein concentration environment was distinguished by the fewest HTD and the largest VADTRg. For protein concentration, all lines responded positively to average maximum daily temperature(MxDT), HTD, and average daily temperature range(ADTRg) and negatively to ADRa, while they responded positively or negatively to average daily temperature(ADT), variance of average minimum daily temperature (VMnDT), and VADTRg, indicating that genotypes may greatly differ in degrees of sensitivity to each climatic variable. Eleven lines seemed to have best response models with 2 or 3 variables. Exceptionally, NC106 did not show a significant sensitivity to any climatic variable and thus did not have a best response model. This indicates that it may be considered phenotypically more stable. For total seed protein and seed yield, all the lines responded negatively to both ADTRg and VADRa, suggesting that synthesis of seed components may increase with less daily temperature range and less variation in daily rainfall.

This study was carried out to analyze the relationship between major climatic factors (temperature and precipitation) and tree ring growth of Pinus densiflora in 28 cities and counties in Korea. To examine tree ring growth of Pinus densiflora and the response of the climatic factors to climate change, the regional climatic data (for how many years??) from weather stations were categorized by five groups using cluster analysis for major climatic factors. In terms of relationship between monthly average temperature and tree ring growth of Pinus densiflora, negative correlations were observed for the temperatures in March of the present year in Baekdudaegan region and those in February and March in Gyeongbuk and East coast region. In addition, the temperature in October of the previous year was also negatively correlated with tree ring growth. Precipitation was positively correlated with the April and June temperatures of the present year in Baekdudaegan region and Gyeongbuk, respectively. Precipitation effect on the tree ring growth with current year June in Honam and Gyeongnam inland region and June, September in East coast region.

This research was conducted to investigate the effect of climatic factors on fruit growth in 'Niitaka' pear (Pyrus pyrifolia). For ten years from 2000 to 2010, average full bloom date was April 19th and standard deviation was 4.2 days. Average fruit diameter 160 days after full bloom (DAFB) was 102.4 mm and standard deviation was 7.5 mm. Variance coefficients among climatic factors were higher in rainfall amount and sunshine hours than temperature. Only sunshine hours of climatic factors accumulated during the 160 DAFB had significant positive relationship ($r=0.68^*$) with fruit diameter 160 DAFB. Between full bloom date and fruit diameter 160 DAFB had no significant relationship. Fruit growth in 2004, as continuous rain fall and short sunshine hours, showed opposite pattern compared to that in 2009. Therefore, fruit growth of 'Niitaka' pear was more influenced by the accumulated sunshine hours than accumulated temperature.
This study was conducted to investigate the effect of soil, cultural practices and climatic conditions on some chemical constituents of flue-cured tobacco. Increasing the nicotine and total nitrogen contents may be useful to reduce the total sugar content of cured leaves in flue-cured tobacco. Delaying the transplanting date and increasing the soil nitrogen($N0_3-N$ and $N0_4-N$) content for 30 days after transplanting by fertilizing are desirable so as to increase the nicotine and total nitrogen contents of cured leaves. Those treatments will delay the ripeness, and elongate the duration of cultivation(day from transplanting to harvesting), and increase the fresh leaf weight. Moderate rainfall in April and May, lower relative humidity in June, and higher mean daily air temperature in June and July seem to be necessary for good leaf of flue-cured tobacco in Korea.
We analyzed relationship soil distribution and climatic factors using temperature, precipitation and evapotranspiration maps in Jeju island. The whole area was divided into 5 groups - mesic high moisture region(group1), thermic high moisture region(group2), thermic balanced moisture region(group3), thermic short moisture region(group4), thermic very short moisture region(group5), by soil temperature and monthly moisture balances. By the sequence from group1 to group5, the occupation ratio of soils was increased in order of andisols, inceptisols, alfisols, ultisols in soil orders, and of black soils, very dark brown soils, dark brown soils in soil colors.
