사용자 인터랙션을 지원하는 교육용 앱북의 구현 및 평가 (Implementation and Evaluation of an Educational AppBook with User Interaction)

  • As e-books have been becoming common, the market for digital textbooks also has been expected to grow rapidly. In this paper, we introduce our experience of developing interactive e-books with Unity3D, and the result of user's experiment of using the books. The e-books are targeted to the lower grades in elementary schools, and they are a series of a fairy tale story with educational information on flat tide. They support rich user interactions such as dragging and clicking objects and rich media including 3D animations, videos, pictures, and augmented reality. We separate educational information from the main story in order to meet some incompatible issues among story, education, and user interaction. We conducted user experiments with twenty four 4th grade students and 95.8% (23 from 24) of them liked the e-books. They also thought the e-books would help them study about flat tide and sea creatures in there.

디지털시대의 집합주택 내외부 경계 표현에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Design Expression of the boundary Surfaces in Multi-family Housing of Digital Age)

  • This study attempts to clarify inter-relationship between design expression in the surface of contemporary multi-family housing and physical trends in this digital age. The study examines characteristics of housing design influenced from new digital technology in the forms of metaphor such as dematerialization, fluidity and mobility. Currently constructed multi-family housing in Europe after 1990 has been analyzed to find digital reflections in the surfaces. As a conclusion, findings are as follows; In this digital age, a house is considered as a base in the forms of boxes and containers to network to outer worlds. In a complex of multi-family housing, public spaces move to the inside and become parts of private domain. Therefore, a house directly faces a street/outer world without transitional areas and devices. The facades of housing become delicate skins to control private domain in the inside and the world in the outside. In this digital age, the surfaces of housing are designed by ways of wrapping and screening. Printing and mapping methods are used to surface design because they are manipulative and flexible methods in design like graphic design. Screening devices using louvers and shutters are powerful tools to make random and unpredictable images. If units of a louver and a shutter were pixels, a whole surface would be a digital screen. In such assumption, the facade of buildings reflects digital screen to interface while the louvers in operation reflect clicking to network. As a conclusion, design expression in surfaces in-between of multi-family housing is a metaphor of digital mechanism.

목표점 선택작업에서 등력성 발 마우스의 최적 반응 - 조종 이득 (Optimal Display-Control Gain of the Foot-Controlled Isotonic Mouse on a Target Acquisition Task)

  • The increased use of computers has introduced a variety kind of human-computer interfaces. Mouse is one of the useful interface tools to place the cursor on the desired position on the monitor. This paper suggested a foot controlled isotonic mouse which was similar to the ordinary hand-controlled mouse except that positioning was controlled by the right foot and the clicking was performed by the left foot. Experimental results showed that both the index of difficulty(IOD) and the display-control gain(DC gain) varied the total movement time in a target acquisition task on the monitor. The present authors also drew the optimal display-control gain of the foot-controlled isotonic mouse over the index of difficulty of 1.0 to 3.0. The optimal display-control gain, i. e., 0.256, could be used when designing a foot-controlled isotonic mouse.

구강악습관과 측두하악관절 기능장애와의 관계 (The relationship between stomatognathic habit and temporomandibular joint dysfunction)

  • The relationship between symptoms of temoromandibular joint dysfunction(TMJD) and stomatognathic habit was studied in 500 adolescents(mean age 22.45). The severity of TMJD was determined by using a self-reported anamnestic questionnaire composed of 10 questions regarding common TMJD. The index of oromandibular habit was determined by using a self-reported anamnestic questionnaire composed of 17 questions. There was a positive correlation(p<0.01) between the index of TMJD and index of stomatognathic habit. The most frequent symptoms were clicking sounds from the TMJ(37.4%) and a feeling of pain in the jaws(33.3%). The most frequent stomatognathic habit were a chin support(69.8%) and one side chewing(68.0%).

  • 본 연구의 목적은 학습자가 디지털교과서를 보다 능동적으로 학습하고 자기주도적으로 사용할 수 있도록 사용성과 관련된 어포던스(행동유도성)의 문제점을 파악하고 이를 개선하고자 하는데 있다. 이를 위해 초등학교 4학년 학생 10명이 과업을 통해 관찰 및 면담을 통해 어포던스 문제점을 살펴보고 그에 맞게 실질적으로 인터페이스를 개선하였다. 이러한 개선을 통해 학습자들이 정보를 바로 지각, 이해 할 수 있도록 하여 학습자가 디지털교과서라는 낯선 디지털 환경에서도 학습자들이 적절하게 행동이 유도될 수 있을 것이며 디지털교과서로 어떠한 환경에서도 학습자들이 직접 조작하고 상호작용하는 학습 체험을 경험하고 의미 있는 학습으로 연계될 수 있을 것이다.

  • 본 논문에서는 디지털논리회로의 설계에 있어 필수적인 카르노 맵 간략화 과정을 자바 애플릿을 이용하여 웹 기반 교육용 툴로 구현하였다. 학습자들은 웹브라우저를 통해서 구현된 Java 애플릿에 접근하게 되며, 디지털 논리회로의 간략화 과정에 대해 마우스로 버튼을 클릭하거나 텍스트를 채워가면서 가상실험하게 된다. 본 논문에서 자바 애플릿을 구현하는데 사용한 간략화 알고리즘은 수정된 Quine-McCluskey 기법에 기초하였으며, 구현된 자바애플릿은 효율적인 교육보조도구로서 학습자의 학습효과를 증대시킬 수 있으리라 생각된다.

  • 본 논문은 하나의 미디어아트 작품에 대한 분석과 구현된 기술을 제공한다 3차원 그래픽 기술을 이용하여 다중 동영상 플레이어를 구현하였으며, 모든 동영상은 상호 연동되어 동작한다 컴퓨터의 소프트웨어로 구현된 동영상 플레이어에 관객이 참여하여 관객 스스로 감성적 자극을 얻을 수 있도록 구상하였다. 각 플레이어에 인간의 희로애락을 표현하며 특정화면에 대한 경험의 공감을 표현한다. 시스템의 성능에 따라 N2개 플레이어가 증가될 수 있으며, 더욱 많은 동영상간의 복합적인 연계를 통해 예술적 메시지를 전달할 수 있을 것으로 생각한다.

인터넷 육아정보 제공 사이트에 대한 평가 (The Evaluation of the Child-Care Web Sites on the Internet)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to analyze web sites that provide child-care information and to provide a proper model for child-care web sites. Method: The evaluation tool with 23 items including purpose, contents, timeliness and reliability, interaction, and function was developed and modified. Quantitative analyses of 48 web sites, which were selected using popular search engines, were done. Result: 1) The aim of the web site was clearly shown for 24 sites (63.2%) and 17 sites (44.7%) provided the information for judging whether the informant was an expert. 2) Most web sites provided information on feeding, nutrition, and common health problems, and 11 sites provided information on care of problem behavior, but only 6 sites provided information on mother-infant interaction. 3) Timely information was provided on 21 sites, however none of the sites provided information sources. 4) Methods for contact the authors were found for 31 sites (81.6%) and 19 sites (50%) had active bulletin boards to receive opinions from users. 5) There were 32 sites where information could be found by clicking less than 3 times. Conclusion: We suggest that the evaluation criteria for child-care web sites used in this study is a tool that can be used to evaluate web sites with consistency, but there is a need for further study to develop standardization of the evaluating tool.

파노라마사진에 의한 측두하악관절의 연구 (A STUDY OF THE TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINT ON THE PANTOMOGRAPH)

  • This study was designed to evaluate the morphology of the temporomandibular joint components and dentofacial characteristics of patients with clicking and painful temporomadibular joint. The materials consisted of 80 conventional pantomographs in normal an symptomatic individuals aged 18-23 and divided into 2 groups by symptom of temporomandibular joint. The results were as follows; 1. In morphologic analysis of condylar head, type Ⅰ (anterior, posterior smooth curve) was most dominant in both group(58.75%, 55.0%) and asymmetrical condylar shape was predominant in symptomatic group (18 cases, 45%). 2. In symptomatic group, the condylar width were slightly lesser and the ratio of condylar height to height of condyle-ramus were larger than those of normal group. 3. Vertical overlap of central incisor of symptomatic group was slightly larger than that of normal group. There was significant differences between each group in mandibular midline deviation. 4. The symptomatic group tended to steep mandibular plane angle and the degree of condylar path and condylar axis of normal group were larger than those of symptomatic group. 5. The condylar width was inversely correlated with inclination of condylar path and inclination of condylar path was correlated with condylar axis in both groups.

Evaluation of Korean teenagers with temporomandibular joint disorders

  • Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the severity and pattern of symptoms exhibited by teenage Korean temporomandibular disorder (TMD) patients. Materials and Methods: Among patients with an association of TMDs, teenage patients (11-19 years) who answered the questionnaire on the research diagnostic criteria for TMD (RDC/TMD) were recruited. Results: The ratio of patients who visited our clinic with a chief complaint of clicking sound (34.5%) or temporomandibular pain (36.6%) at the initial diagnosis (examination) was the highest. In the evaluation of the depression index, 75.8% of the subjects were normal, 12.9% were moderate, and 11.3% were severe. With regard to non-specific physical symptoms (including pain), 66.5% of the subjects were normal, 17.0% were moderate, and 16.5% were severe. Concerning non-specific physical symptoms (excluding pain), 70.6% of the subjects were normal, 14.4% were moderate, and 15.0% were severe. In terms of the graded chronic pain score, high disability (grade III, IV) was found in 9.3% of the subjects. Conclusion: Among teenage TMD patients, a portion have clinical symptoms and experience severe psychological pressure; hence requiring attention and treatment, as well as understanding the psychological pressure and appropriate treatments for dysfunction.
