An important problem to be carried into a plan on the occasion for introduction of TQC is to establish the clear-cut policy and workable system on QC. In connection with escalation the product liability in recent days, especially, a point to he considered in relation the real state of enterprise, it seems likely to be difficult an effective performance without distribution of the definite duality function to each departments in the company, and to define the quality function, it should be educed and coordinated under agreement organization wide participation and conciliation. In this paper, we have tried to have a more effective graft the European style QC on the oriental enterprise, by means of presenting a model that manages synthetically a way of deployment the fundamental factors affecting quality, and establishing the control subject in each function unit.

Stress assignment has been much discussed in the literature on English compound nouns. The general view of the stress pattern of English compound nouns is that a main stress falls on the first element and a secondary stress on the second element; however, a stress pattern is often employed that provides counterevidence to the traditional pedagogical approach. A new idea is suggested by Ladd(1984) that 'compound stress represents the deaccenting of the head of the compound.' Recent studies show that initial stressing does not indicate compounds and syntactic phrases are not always characterized by final stressing. In his pilot test Pennanen comments on the frequent variation of stress patterns on individual items, on the basis of which Bauer confirms Pennanen's results with different informants. This paper is an attempt to justify Bauer's analysis with the same data as Bauer's and different subjects. It turns out that the competences of native-speaker informants do not rovide clear-cut answers. Some factors should be taken into account in assigning appropirate stress to compound nouns.

A cross-linguistic examination of motion constructions reveals that the nature of the special property of English motion verbs that Tenny (1995) discussed-namely, why English can freely append locational delimiters to manner-of-motion verbs, as in Bill swam/rowed/canoed to the end of the lake -resides not in the verbs but in the semantic structure of the prepositions that denote transition from motion to end location. It is further argued that the differentiation of bounded paths from non-bounded Ones provides a clear-cut basis on which to distinguish motion constructions from resultative constructions. This proposal provides an alternative to the analyses of resultative constructions by Wechsler (1997) and Rappaport Hovav and Levin (2001).

The purpose of this study is to establish a clear-cut concept and meaning of soundscape design through an inquiry into the various literatures on the ideologies, features and domains of soundscape design. Soundscape enables us to design various relationship through a sound in that it is important for interaction, namely the relations with sound, environment and people in a region. Soundscape design is an endogenous design which is participated in a large number of people of the region, and it contains various activities such as research study, environmental preservation, creation of sound environment and sound education.

The purpose of this article was to evaluate the effects of reimbursement system on the basis of diagnosis-related groups(DRGs). We searched articles which was published from 1970 to 2000 using MEDLINE ； Key words "diagnosis-related groups, DRGs, prospective payment system, PPS. Then we reviewed 97 articles on classifying them into several categories of contents. It seems that the effects of DRGs in controlling hospitals cost in the U.S. was not clear cut. The U.S. Medicare PPS using DRGs remains vulnerable to compensatory increases in ambulatory care and long-term care facilities utilization despite cost per case and cost per admission being reduced. Also some research indicated the possibilities of deterioration in health care service quality. So putting theses results together, much more consideration is needed before the application of DRGs reimbursement system in Korea. Particularly there is the crucial difference between U.S. health care system and Korean, we must be aware of the limitations of DRGs and revise the DRG system to applicable in Korea.orea.

Forme fruste choledochal cyst (FFCC) is one of the diverse types of choledochal cyst with little or no dilatation of the extrahepatic bile duct (EHBD). It is considered that FFCC has to do with the pancreatobiliary malunion (PBM). In children, 3 to 6 millimeters of EHBD is assumed to be normal. Even though there is no clear-cut definition, FFCC is likely to be associated with bile duct dilatation less than 10 millimeters. Almost all cases have PBMs and symptoms of the pancreatitis or cholangitis. We experienced a case of FFCC in a 4-year-old boy. His EHBD measures 10 mm diameter. He had symptoms of pancreatitis and elevated hepatic transaminases. The pancreatobiliary common channel was 28 millimeters. He underwent EHBD resection and Roux-en-Y hepaticojejunostomy and was discharged with no specific complications.

With the advent of the internet era, web-based virtual training system is gaining its importance in recent years. Because of the fact that the training can take place in any place and at any time, the virtual system is now replacing many of the conventional off-line classes. Hardware environments such as communication bandwidth and computer performance gets fast enough to accommodate the virtual education. Based on the observations on current virtual training system, this paper proposes three critical design rules required when developing a new virtual training system: i) With conceptual mapping, the menu hierarchy can be organized in a clear-cut manner, ii) Extensive use of multimedia tools can help students keep their attention to the lecture materials, and iii) Provision of interaction mechanisms helps students to gain their identity and motivation.

Negotiation is a process of reaching an agreement on the terms of a transaction. such as price, quantity, for two or more parties. Negotiation tries to maximize the benefits for all parties concerned. instead of using human-based negotiation. the e-commerce environment provides such an environment as adopting automated negotiation. Thus. choosing agent technology is appropriate for an automatic electronic negotiation platform. since autonomous software agents strive for the best deal on behalf of the human participants. Negotiation agents need a clear-cut definition of negotiation models or strategies. In reality, most bargaining systems embody nearly one negotiation model. In this article. we present a mobile agent negotiation system with reusable negotiation strategies that allows agents to dynamically embody a user's favorite negotiation strategy which can be preinstalled as a component in the system. We develop a prototype system, which is fully implemented in compliance with FIPA specifications, and then. describe the benefits of using the system.

Xcent-Net is a new system network designed to support a clustered SMP called SPAX(Scalable Parallel Architecture based on Xbar) that is being developed by ETRI. It is a duplicated hierarchical crossbar network to provide the connections among 16 clusters of 128 nodes. Xcent-Net is designed as a packet switched, virtual cut-through routed, point-to-point network. Variable length packets contain up to 64 bytes of data. The packets are transmitted via full duplexed, 32-bit wide channels using source synchronous transmission technique. Its plesiochronous clocking scheme eliminates the global clock distribution problem. Two level priority-based round-robin scheme is adopted to resolve the traffic congestion. Clear-to-send mechanism is used as a packet level flow control scheme. Most of functions are built in Xcent router, which is implemented as an ASIC. This paper describes the architecture and the functional features of Xcent-Net and discusses its implementation.

This article criticizes Professor Nam-Sik Park's understanding and proposals on the educational implementation of English Linguistcs in Korea. First of all, this article claims that 'studying English' cannot be the primary goal of 'doing English linguistics', arguing that the curriculum related to the English linguistics should not be altered on the basis of the practical use of English linguistics. The article furthermore criticizes Professor Park's narrow view on the 'practicalism'. Criticism is also addressed to Professor Park's undesirable and unduly clear-cut dichotomy on 'data' versus 'theory', 'subject' versus 'object', 'theoretical linguistics' versus 'applied linguistics', and 'English linguistics' versus 'linguistics', while the author's fundamental emphasis is given to the idea that humanistic understanding of English language is neccessary for proper and extensive comprehension and application of English linguistics in Korea.
