  • The ImageNet dataset is a large scale dataset and contains various natural scene images. In this paper, we propose a convolutional neural network (CNN)-based weighted ensemble technique for the ImageNet classification task. First, in order to fuse several models, our technique uses weights for each model, unlike the existing average-based ensemble technique. Then we propose an algorithm that automatically finds the coefficients used in later ensemble process. Our algorithm sequentially selects the model with the best performance of the validation set, and then obtains a weight that improves performance when combined with existing selected models. We applied the proposed algorithm to a total of 13 heterogeneous models, and as a result, 5 models were selected. These selected models were combined with weights, and we achieved 3.297% Top-5 error rate on the ImageNet test dataset.

  • The image labeling and classification is one of the important tasks for a content-based image retrieval and an image understanding. This paper propose a new technique to label and classify natural images with a color-spatial histogram and production rules. We show that our proposed method is very efficient for a natural image composed of a few regions.

  • The image classification is one of the most important studies in the remote sensing. In general, the MLC(Maximum Likelihood Classification) classification that in consideration of distribution of training information is the most effective way but it produces a bad result when we apply it to actual hyperspectral image with the same classification technique. The purpose of this research is to reveal that which one is the most effective and suitable way of the classification algorithms iii the hyperspectral image classification. To confirm this matter, we apply the MLC classification algorithm which has distribution information and SAM(Spectral Angle Mapper), SFF(Spectral Feature Fitting) algorithm which use average information of the training class to both multispectral image and hyperspectral image. I conclude this result through quantitative and visual analysis using confusion matrix could confirm that SAM and SFF algorithm using of spectral pattern in vector domain is more effective way in the hyperspectral image classification than MLC which considered distribution.

  • Classification of Earth natural components within a full polarimetric SAR image is one of the most important applications of radar polarimetry in remote sensing. In this paper, the unsupervised classification algorithms based on the combined use of the polarimetric processing technique such as the target decomposition and statistical complex Wishart classification method are evaluated and applied to vegetated terrain in Jeju volcanic island.

  • The meaningful speech sound block classification provides very important information in the speech recognition. The following technique of the classification is based on the DWT (discrete wavelet transform), which will provide a more fast algorithm and a useful, compact solution for the pre-processing of speech recognition. The algorithm is implemented to the unvoiced/voiced classification and the denoising.

  • This paper deals with simplification of classification rules for data mining and rule bases for control systems. Datamining that extracts useful information from such a large amount of data is one of important issues. There are various ways in classification methodologies for data mining such as the decision trees and neural networks, but the result should be explicit and understandable and the classification rules be short and clear. The rough sets theory is an effective technique in extracting knowledge from incomplete and inconsistent data and provides a good solution for classification and approximation by using various attributes effectively This paper investigates granularity of knowledge for reasoning of uncertain concopts by using rough set approximations and uses a hierarchical classification structure that is more effective technique for classification by applying core to upper level. The proposed classification methodology makes analysis of an information system eary and generates minimal classification rules.

  • A multistage hierarchical clustering technique, which is an unsupervised technique, was suggested in this paper for classifying large remotely-sensed imagery. The multistage algorithm consists of two stages. The 'local' segmentor of the first stage performs region-growing segmentation by employing the hierarchical clustering procedure of CN-chain with the restriction that pixels in a cluster must be spatially contiguous. The 'global' segmentor of the second stage, which has not spatial constraints for merging, clusters the segments resulting from the previous stage, using the conventional agglomerative approach. Using simulation data, the proposed method was compared with another hierarchical clustering technique based on 'mutual closest neighbor.' The experimental results show that the new approach proposed in this study considerably increases in computational efficiency for larger images with a low number of bands. The technique was then applied to classify the land-cover types using the remotely-sensed data acquired from the Korean peninsula.

  • Now a days, large volumes of data is accumulating in every field due to increase in capacity of storage devices. These large volumes of data can be applied with data mining for finding useful patterns which can be used for business growth, improving services, improving health conditions etc. Data from different sources can be combined before applying data mining. The data thus gathered can be misused for identity theft, fake credit/debit card transactions, etc. To overcome this, data mining techniques which provide privacy are required. There are several privacy preserving data mining techniques available in literature like randomization, perturbation, anonymization etc. This paper proposes an Enhanced Hybrid Privacy Preserving Data Mining(EHPPDM) technique. The proposed technique provides more privacy of data than existing techniques while providing better classification accuracy. The experimental results show that classification accuracies have increased using EHPPDM technique.

  • Purpose : To implement the database system of oral and maxillofacial radiological images using a commercial medical image management software with personally developed classification code. Materials and methods : The image database was built using a slightly modified commercial medical image management software, Dr. Image v.2.1 (Bit Computer Co., Korea). The function of wild card '*' was added to the search function of this program. Diagnosis classification codes were written as the number at the first three digits, and radiographic technique classification codes as the alphabet right after the diagnosis code. 449 radiological films of 218 cases from January, 2000 to December, 2000, which had been specially stored for the demonstration and education at Dept. of OMF Radiology of Dankook University Dental Hospital, were scanned with each patient information. Results: Cases could be efficiently accessed and analyzed by using the classification code. Search and statistics results were easily obtained according to sex, age, disease diagnosis and radiographic technique. Conclusion : Efficient image management was possible with this image database system. Application of this system to other departments or personal image management can be made possible by utilizing the appropriate classification code system.
