  • Classical literature texts have been transmitted and recreated as subjective meanings in a wide variety of genres. Authors recreate another world with their own imagination and classical literature texts. This study has been conducted to analysis 'OnDal's Dream' which is an adaptation from 'OnDalJeon' in order to figure out the method of inheritance and the subject and message of the adaptation. The process of inheritance and acculturation appears in the literary world. Some adaptations stick to the genre of the original text, other adaptations change to various genres. There is the process of inheritance and acculturation in the aspect of structure of the adaptation 'OnDal's Dream'. lntertextuality can be found between 'OnDalJeon' and 'OnDal's Dream' in terms of the stages such as 'confrontation' between the ego and the world and 'overcoming' hardships. However, the recreation text has acculturation of the structure that shows the potential desire for elevation of social status at the end part of the work so I could possibly show that the adaptation has limitation because it was far from the dream of common people and laborers at that time. There are different structures and recognition systems between 'OnDal Jeon' and 'OnDal's Dream' because the formal is an epic tale the other is lyric tale. An epic tale has some partial symbols in its story line, while an lyric tale is a symbol as a whole. There is an exhibition of deep emotion which is subjectivized and symbolized against the world in the adaptation 'OnDal's Dream'. And the inheritance of unreality, which is acculturation to the world of dream, from the original text can be found in the adaptation. First of all, study between the original text and the recreation text should be conducted in terms of intertextuality. Secondly, an instruction on the inheritance which is based on intertextuality between the original text and the recreation text should be conducted. Thirdly, an instruction about the structure of a genre and differences of recognition systems according to inheritance or conversion of a genre. It will be helpful for children to stimulate to take an interest in classical literature texts and traditional arts, to learn more recreation texts, and to develop the practical ability to recreate works. Based on above study, an instruction which shows a spiritual value of literature should be conducted.

Methods : A list of translated Classical texts in the field of Korean Medicine from the National Central Library collection was organized. Afterwards, the publication date, field, author information and content of the translated version were analyzed. Results : Of Chinese Medical texts, those from the Ming and Qing periods were most translated, while major texts pre-dating the Song period were left out. In addition, while texts in the fields of Shanghan-Jingui, comprehensive medical texts, scriptures, medical theories that were high in demand in educational and clinical sectors were actively translated, those in secondary fields were insufficiently translated. Of medical texts of Korea, those from the Joseon period were mostly translated, including major texts such as the Donguibogam and various kinds of texts reflecting research demands. Conclusions : In the future, texts that have not been translated need to be prioritized while basic elements need to be identified for better quality translation. To enable quantitative and qualitative expansion of Korean Medical Classical Texts translation, institutional and academic support is crucial.

  • This study examines the meaning of classical texts in contemporary society. Drawing on an anthropological investigation of Somun Hakhoe, an association of Korean medicine doctors in South Korea, and its foundational text "Somun Daeyo", the present study explores the interconnectedness of medical texts and medico-social practices in bringing medical tradition into the contemporary era. The themes that author Lee Kyu-joon emphasizes in "Somun Daeyo" are thoroughly embodied in Somun Hakhoe's medico-social practices, such as the study activities based on "Somun Daeyo"(in particular, on Somun Buseol, the five articles written by the author, attached to "Somun Daeyo"), the focus on Buyang theory(扶陽論), and the distinctive feature of composing formula. The ethnographic data collected about the group activities of Somun Hakhoe also demonstrate that the social relationship of the teacher and disciples plays an important role in bringing East Asian medicine into the present. This study articulates the significance of the interaction between the classical text and the medico-social practices around it. The dynamism taking place in the interaction points to the "living tradition" actively flowing rather than being static in the past. This study illustrates the close relationship between medical history and medical anthropology and encourages more studies of classical texts based on the intimate relationship between the two disciplines.

  • This study was conducted to present the stylistic differences between Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie, famous as writers of classical mystery novels, through data analysis, and further to present the analytical methodology of the study of style based on text mining. The reason why we chose mystery novels for our research is because the unique devices that exist in classical mystery novels have strong stylistic characteristics, and furthermore, by choosing Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie, who are also famous to the general reader, as subjects of analysis, so that people who are unfamiliar with the research can be familiar with them. The primary objective of this study is to identify how the differences exist within the text and to interpret the effects of these differences on the reader. Accordingly, in addition to events and characters, which are key elements of mystery novels, the writer's grammatical style of writing was defined in style and attempted to analyze it. Two series and four books were selected by each writer, and the text was divided into sentences to secure data. After measuring and granting the emotional score according to each sentence, the emotions of the page progress were visualized as a graph, and the trend of the event progress in the novel was identified under eight themes by applying Topic modeling according to the page. By organizing co-occurrence matrices and performing network analysis, we were able to visually see changes in relationships between people as events progressed. In addition, the entire sentence was divided into a grammatical system based on a total of six types of writing style to identify differences between writers and between works. This enabled us to identify not only the general grammatical writing style of the author, but also the inherent stylistic characteristics in their unconsciousness, and to interpret the effects of these characteristics on the reader. This series of research processes can help to understand the context of the entire text based on a defined understanding of the style, and furthermore, by integrating previously individually conducted stylistic studies. This prior understanding can also contribute to discovering and clarifying the existence of text in unstructured data, including online text. This could help enable more accurate recognition of emotions and delivery of commands on an interactive artificial intelligence platform that currently converts voice into natural language. In the face of increasing attempts to analyze online texts, including New Media, in many ways and discover social phenomena and managerial values, it is expected to contribute to more meaningful online text analysis and semantic interpretation through the links to these studies. However, the fact that the analysis data used in this study are two or four books by author can be considered as a limitation in that the data analysis was not attempted in sufficient quantities. The application of the writing characteristics applied to the Korean text even though it was an English text also could be limitation. The more diverse stylistic characteristics were limited to six, and the less likely interpretation was also considered as a limitation. In addition, it is also regrettable that the research was conducted by analyzing classical mystery novels rather than text that is commonly used today, and that various classical mystery novel writers were not compared. Subsequent research will attempt to increase the diversity of interpretations by taking into account a wider variety of grammatical systems and stylistic structures and will also be applied to the current frequently used online text analysis to assess the potential for interpretation. It is expected that this will enable the interpretation and definition of the specific structure of the style and that various usability can be considered.
