  • The authors study a novel type of elevator emergency stop device which enables to soften impact force at an emergency halt. A new structure of emergency stop devices has been already proposed by our laboratory and also its characteristics has been already proposed by our laboratory and also its characteristics has been shown by digital simulations[1]. In order to confirm the actual effects of our proposed emergency stop device, we have made up a simulator having the same characteristics as the conventional emergency stop device to accomplish the experiments from now on. In this paper, this process is introduced.

  • In recent times, multi-centralization and decentralization as well as large Capital area and suburbanization in the spatial structure of capital area. With rapid growth, urbanization and industrialization are unsystematic, and growth inequality between regions caused negative effects such as discordant centralization and decentralization, fluctuating land value, and gap between living conditions. Accordingly, this study analyzed urban spatial indexes by the self-governed body in the capital area such as Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi province for the analysis of the regional inequality phenomenon. We examined the characteristics of temporal and spatial changes in urban spatial structure in the capital area by utilizing the distribution pattern and density of city indexes such as population, employment, etc, and then drew the commonality of those factors through factor analysis. We evaluated the drawn results through the city standard index by each city, conducted factor score analysis, and identified the interaction between each factor and Housing Purchase Price Composite Indices index, housing rent price index(Housing Jeonse Price Composite Indices), land price fluctuation rate, diffusion ratio of house, and financial independence.

  • After Industrial Revolution, the rapid economic development and changes in industrial structures caused the urban centralization phenomenon of population, and the consequential and swift urban development forced to require somewhat more of necessary residential lands. With deferring the ecological principles, due to the developed urban area, 'green land' within a city started to diminish; and due to serious pollution, the environemental quality declined, and the living environment became sagged down even more seriously. it was analyzed to be a considerable point as a type of model for newly developing cities that are being undergone by the developmental and expansive plan by the City of Chun-chon.

  • This study is purposed to find fundamental characteristics in Grassi's architecture which has architectural principles in architecture itself and in the general frame of the historical facts of architecture. His architectural theories can be explained for rationality, historicity, universality. The method of architectural composition can be divided into urban morphological characteristic and compositional characteristic of architecture. The characteristics of the former are the reconstruction of the urban structure by the readjustment of an urban axis which is based on historical continuity of the city, the open court which is a passage transformed from colonnade that is the historical vernacular type and the respect for the city-line which goes with historical context. The characteristics of the latter are the use transformed of nine square which gives consideration to centrality and typology at the same time and the hierarchic division of the principal space and the subordinate space for the functional typical purpose. This analysis shows that Grassi's architecture is on the base of historical continuity and urban reality and for him architectural work is mental work which conflict with the real world for the reconstruction of the city.

  • It was proven that the spatial distribution pattern of the parking lots in Cheongju city was clarified through the concentric expansion of the parking lots, which started out from the center for commercial and business function, into the periphery regions. First of ail, in terms of the spatial distribution pattern of the parking lot according to the operational subject, the parking lot is distributed through private, public, and parking lots attached to buildings in the center, and in its adjacent regions, public and parking lots attached to buildings are distributed. And public parking lot, private and parking lots attached to buildings are distributed in sector pattern. And in terms of facility structure, more than half of the parking lots attached to buildings in Cheongju city are composed of Parking lots of self-driver type. In the case of the center, regional structure of self-Parking type of parking lots attacked to buildings, self-parking type lots on plane street parking, mechanical parking types attached to buildings, self-parking type of plane non-street diversely appear to be combined types, its spatial facility distribution patterns appear to be concentric patterns. Also, in terms of the spatial distribution pattern of the parking lots according to the contact types, with the centralizing of a center, southwestern regions show hourly and monthly charged parking lots; northeastern regions show free parking lots. The spatial distribution pattern of the parking lots as above, reflects the regional distribution change of the establishment and residential location.

  • Information in UbiComp Environment are transformed to knowledge by relationship in a spatio-temporal location, and then became intelligent contents with task procedures or application models. The entities in U-City has lots of relationships. It is important in U-City contents to provide intelligent and personalized response to meet the intention of users. We extend the spatial ontology model of SPIRIT to other domain. Domain ontologies are consist of type, relation, and instance ontologies. When the relationship model by shared concepts are not defined, we used the spatio-temporal events to find relationships. So we proposed the methods to recommend semantically related terms, not syntactically.
