  • This study is searching the characteristics of transferred element in composition of architectural spaces ; it is ultimate goal that frame of reference is arranged system about path of horizontal direction is two-dimension and stairs of vertical in three-dimension as transferred element in Architectural plan. With the exception of stylized discussion or rhetorical analysis about these, it is analysed as element in physical order of a whole architecture in relation to another elements in composition of architecture spaces. And one who is perceptible and cognitive through spaces is the subject. Consequently , these elements are classified concept of location and circulation. And it can't think that the formal is divided the latter for accept behavior of pedestrican and thinking system to consider verticality and time property is absolutely conceptual elements in space of architectural plan.

  • This paper proposes an ATM switch architecture called Output Queued Batcher-Banyan switch (OQBBS). It consists of a Sorting Module, Expanding Module, and Output Queueing Modules. The principles of channel grouping and output queueing are used to increase the maximum throughput of an ATM switch. One distinctive feature of the OQBBS is that multiple cells can be simultaneously delivered to their desired output. The switch architecture is shown to be modular and easily expandable. The performance of the OQBBS in terms of throughput, cell delays, and cell loss rate under uniform random traffic condition is evaluated by computer simulation. The throughput and the average cell delay are close to the ideal performance behavior of a fully connected output queued crossbar switch. It is also shown that the OQBBS meets the cell loss probability requirement of $10^{-6}$.

  • Thermal distortion of non-contacting mechanical seals with inclined rubbing surfaces is affected by friction heat between seal ring and seal seat. The circulation fluid along the inclined rubbing surfaces maintains cooling friction heat and lubrication between the sealing surfaces of mechanical seal with an inclined surface. Mechanical seals with inclined sealing surfaces may be useful for reducing the frictional heating and power loss because of the introduction of cooling fluids to the sealing gap between seal ring and seal seat. From the FEM computed result shows that the thermal behavior and von Mises stress of sealing faces with an inclined angle 60 are much reduced in comparison of the conventional mechanical face seal with rectangular sealing surfaces.

  • Heat transfer characteristics of self oscillating heat pipe were experimentally investigated for the effect of fill charge ratios and heat loads. The heat pipe used for this study is made of copper capillary, has 0.002m internal diameter, a 0.34m length in one turn and consists of 19 turns. Heating and cooling section each have a length of 70mm. Water was used as working fluid inside heat pipe. As the experimental results, the self oscillating heat pipe was operated by self-exited oscillation and circulation of working fluid and the oscillation within the self oscillating heat pipe assumed chaotic behavior.

  • A new mechanical heart valve prosthesis has been designed appling systematic design methodology. The function of the heart valve was defined, and search for design variation has been carried out according to the functional structure, Optimal model among the various variations was determined in view of the design specificationn. Proto type valve was fabricated and test has been carried out using a mock circulation system. It has been observed that the pressure profile, cardiac output and behavior characteristics are generally satisfactory.

  • In the present study, a PIV measurement and image processing technique were applied in order to investigate the flow characteristics in the gas injected liquid bath. The circulation of liquid was induced by upward bubble flow. Due to the centrifugal force, the flow was well developed near both wall sides than in the center of a bath. The vortex flow irregularly repeated generation and disappearance which helped to accelerate the mixing process. The bubble rise velocity in the bottom region was relatively lower than in the upper region because the energy generated by bubbles' behavior in the region near the nozzle was almost converted into kinetic energy But bubble rise velocity increases with the increase of the axial distance since kinetic energy of rising bubbles is added to buoyancy force. In conclusion, the flow increased bubble rise velocity and the flow of the bottom region became more active.

  • The flow characteristics inside U-bend tube of the laminated plate heat exchanger were numerically investigated. The behavior of fluid flow, and the variations of the faulty area and friction factor are examined according to the distance between the span and the wall and the diameter of the round attacked to the end of span. The results show that the diameter(d) of the round attached to the span is mainly associated with the smooth circulation of fluid flow rather than the size of faulty area and the friction factor. As the distance($\ell$) between the span and the wall decreases, the faulty area decreases, however the friction factor dramatically increases. It is also found that one can obtain a good result in the view of the flow characteristics and pressure drop at d=7.5mm and $\ell$=30.5mm.

  • The Coanda effect is the phenomenon of a fluid jet to stay attached to a curved surface; when a jet stream is applied tangentially to a convex surface, lift force is generated by increase in the circulation. The Coanda effect has great potential to be applied practically applied to marine hydrodynamics where various lifting surfaces are being widely used to control the behavior of ships and offshore structures. In the present study, Numerical simulations and corresponding experiments were performed to ascertain the applicability of the Coanda effect to a horn-type rudder. It was found that the Coanda jet increases the lift coefficient of the rudder by as much as 52% at a jet momentum coefficient of 0.1 and rudder angle of $10^{\circ}$.

  • Hydraulic performance and flow resistance tests were performed to confirm the main parameters of the hydraulic instrumentation that can affect the pump performance of the reactor coolant pump. The flow resistance test offers important experimental data, which are necessary to predict the behavior of the primary coolant when the circulation of the reactor coolant pump is stopped. Moreover, the shape of the hydraulic section of the pump, which was considered in the test, was prepared to compare the mixed-flow- and axial-flow-type models, the difference in the number of blades of the impeller and diffuser, the difference in the shape of the impeller blade and its thickness, and the effect of coating at the suction bell. Additionally, five models of the hydraulic part were manufactured for the experiments. In this study, the differences in performance owing to the design factors were confirmed through the experimental results.

  • The anisotropic etching behavior of single crystal silicon were studied in aqueous KOH solution. N-type (100) oriented single crystal silicon wafers were used for the study, and the $SiO_2$ layer, whose etching rate is known to be much slower than that of silicon in the KOH solution, was used as a mask for the silicon etching. The silicon etching rate and the etching properties are shown to be a function of etchant temperature uniformity, circulation speed, and circulation direction of the etchant as well as the etchant concentration and the temperature. The etching rate is increased as the temperature is increased from $10\mu \textrm{m}/hr$ to $250\mu \textrm{m}/hr$ in the range of $50^{\circ}C~105^{\circ}C$. Hillock density and height is observed to be correlated with the etchant concentration and the etch temperature. The variation of the hillock density was explained by the ratio between the etching rate of (100) orientation and that of (111) orientation.
