Objectives : This study is to investigate the clinical application of conservative treatment to a patient who has the paresthesia and migration on L-spine MRI. Methods : A male patient, 34 years old, who has paresthesia and migration on L-spine MRI was evaluated after conservative oriental medical and chuna treatment by Visual Analog Scale(VAS), Numeric Rating Scale(NRS), Straight Leg Rasing Test(SLRT), Sensation, MRI follow-up. Results : 1. Visual Analog Scale(VAS), Numeric Rating Scale(NRS), Straight Leg Rasing Test(SLRT), Sense was significantly improved after conservative oriental medical and chuna treatment. 2. Also it was observed that herniated disc was decreased by L-spine MRI follow-up. Conclusions : Conservative oriental medical and chuna treatment can be effective for decreasing pain and improving paresthesia, also decreasing the volume of herniated disc.

Objects : This study was to report a clinical effect of Chuna Treatment for a patient diagnosed by Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI) as Cervical Myelopathy. Methods: In order to alleviate shoulder pain and neck stiffness, the patient was treated by acupuncture therapy, herbal medicine, phamacopucture, cervical traction technique of Chuna treatment and conservative managements. To evaluate the effect of the treatment, Recovery rate of Hirabayashi, VAS(Visual Anlaogue Scale), NDI and ROM(Range of Motion) were used. Lhermitte's sign, Valsalva test, Distraction test, Compression test and Spurling test were carried out. Results: VAS, NDI and ROM were improved and Recovery rate was 100%. Conclusions: Korean Treatment can be effectively used for a patient with Cervical Myelopathy. Further clinical studies are needed to verify the findings.

Objectives To introduce a case of a traffic accident trauma in a patient with lumbar kyphosis and straightened lumbar curvature, where the Korean medicine treatment with Chuna manual therapy (CMT) improved lumbar lordotic angle(LLA) and lower back pain. Methods Chuna manual therapy and other Korean medicine treatments; were provided to patient with a flat back posture and low back pain due to the trauma from a traffic accident. Cobb's angle to evaluate LLA and numeric rating scale (NRS) to evaluate pain were compared before and after the treatment. Results There was a significant increase in LLA to reach the normal range and a decrease in low back pain NRS after Korean medicine treatment with CMT for 9 days of admission treatment and 3 weeks of outpatient treatment. Conclusions This study suggests that Korean medicine treatment, including CMT, may improve low back pain as well as LLA of straightened lumbar curvatures in patients.

Objective : The purpose of this study is to evaluate the conservative treatment for supraspinatus tendinitis with kyphotic cervical curvature patient. Methods : We used chuna, Herbal medication, Acupuncture, Bee Venom Acupuncture, Physical Therapy for this patient. And we measured of VAS score, ROM and Extent of the subjective symptoms of shoulder pain to evaluate treatment effects. Result : Patient's shoulder pain and cervical curvature has improved. VAS score and Extent of the subjective symptoms of shoulder pain score were also decreased.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to compare the effects of ultra sound (U/S) and chuna on lumbago by meridian muscle electrography (MMEG). we performed U/S and chuna on erector spinae muscle. Methods This study was carried out on 20 lumbago patients. 20 patients were divided into U/S group and chuna group. U/S group take treatment 5 minutes. Chuna group take treatment 10 minutes. After performing U/S and chuna treatment 6 times, we compared both in terms of VAS, ODI, ROM, root mean square (RMS) and special edge frequency (SEF) on erector spinae muscle. The effect of each treatments are compared by Wilcoxon's signed rank test. The difference of effect between both groups are compared by Wilcoxon's rank-sum test. Results 1. Both U/S group and chuna group showed significant improvement in VAS and ODI after treatment. 2. U/S group showed insignificant improvement in both RMS and SEF. 3. Chuna group showed significant improvement in SEF at left lower point and RMS at left upper point. 4. Both U/S group and chuna group showed insignificant improvement in ROM. 5. There are no significant differences between both groups except SEF at left upper point. Conclusions According to above results, we found out that performing U/S or chuna on erector spinae muscle has effect in terms of VAS and ODI. But, in terms of SEF, we found out different result for both side. And we can't found out effect in terms of RMS and ROM of L-spine.

Objectives : This study is performed to evaluate the clinical effect of Chuna therapy on the neck pain associated with kypotic cervical curvature. Methods : This study carried out on two patients with neck pain & kyphotic cervical curvature who have received treatment in Department of Oriental Rehabilitation Medicine, Dong-seo Oriental Medical hospital from 4th April 2011 to 26th May 2012. Pre and post treatment, We evaluated the cervical angle, Jackson's angle, Jochumsen method, VAS and effective score of treatment. Results & Conclusions : Two patients who received Chuna treatment recovered cervical curvature and improved neck pain.

Objectives : This study was carried out to investigate the effects of Chuna & General Oriental Method on Temporomandibular Joint Disorder Patient(Functional Lateral Mandibular Displacement) with Many Clinical Symptoms. Methods : The therapies were Chuna, acupuncture treatment and herbal medicine. We estimated the effects of treatment by measuring the length from the end of frenulum labii superioris to the frenulum labii inferioris, Visual Analog Scale(VAS) and Patient Global Assessment(PGA) before and after treatment. Results : After treatment, we confirmed these improvements: the length from the end of frenulum labii superioris to the frenulum labii inferioris changed from 10-7mm to 0-2mm, the VAS was changed from 10 to 0-2 and many clinial symptoms improved. Conclusions : These results suggusted that Chuna & General Oriental Method effected for Temporomandibular joint disorders caused many clinical symptoms.

Objectives: The Purpose of this study is to report three cases on tension-type headache treated by Chuna manipulative therapy. Methods: Three patients diagnosed tension-type headache were treated with Chuna manipulative therapy only. To evaluate effect of treatment, visual analogue scale(VAS) and headache impact test(HIT) were used. We checked VAS and HIT score three times(pretreatment, post-treatment, follow-up). An interval among each evaluation time is 4 weeks. Results: At post-treatment evaluation, VAS and HIT score declined significantly compared with pre-treatment. At follow-up evaluation, the pain did not increased. Conclusions: These results suggests that Chuna manipulative therapy may be effective for tension-type headache.

Objectives: The objective of this study is to report the effectiveness of Chuna treatment and burning acupuncture therapy on shoulder impingement syndrome. Methods: Among the patients with shoulder pain, We selected 3 patients diagnosed as shoulder impingement syndrome by physical examination and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI). After Chuna treatment and burning acupuncture therapy, we evaluated the effectiveness by measuring range of movement(ROM) and checking The Shoulder Pain And Disability Index(SPADI) every three times the patients called at the clinic for three weeks. Results: The symptoms of the patients got improved relatively in short period considering shoulder impingement syndrome belongs to chronic diseases and steps chronical procedure in recovering. Conclusions: These cases showed Chuna treatment and burning acupuncture therapy could be applied on shoulder impingement syndrome and were effective for improving the symptoms. We suggest that further studies and clinical trials will be needed afterwards.
