  • 본 논문에서는 간단한 Maximum Power Point Tracking이 적용된 micro-scale의 빛에너지 하베스팅 회로를 제안한다. 에너지 변환기로는 온칩 PV cell 대신 이와 비슷한 출력을 하는 초소형 PV cell을 사용하였다. 적용된 MPPT는 PV cell의 개방전압($V_{OC}$)와 MPP전압($V_{MPP}$)과의 관계를 이용하였고 이는 pilot PV cell을 이용함으로써 가능하였다. 설계결과 MPPT control을 적용했을 때 부하가 큰 경우에도 대략 $V_{MPP}$ 전압을 부하에 공급함으로써 부하에 연결된 회로가 정상적으로 동작하는 것을 확인하였다. 제안된 회로는 TSMC 0.18um CMOS 공정으로 설계되었다.

전방향성 선형 압전 액추에이터의 설계와 분석 (Design and analysis of omni-directional linear piezoelectric actuator)

  • In this paper, we present design and analysis of the omni-directional linear piezoelectric actuator which was consisted of one actuator using the half-wave vibrator. Through calculating vibration speeds on each sector of the actuator, the displacement of contact point of the actuator is theoretically confirmed to be about 33 nm. To confirm an applicable possibility of omni-directional linear piezoelectric actuator, elliptical motion for linear movement, displacement of the tip, changing directions and admittance characteristics are simulated by ATILA. Compared with theoretical result, we obtained similar data with displacement of 32.5 nm at contact point. And then the actuator is simulated elliptical trajectories for linear motions and changing directions according to combination of input signal.

  • Unmanned ground vehicle for facility protection mostly uses model of territory for autonomous navigation. However, modeling of territory using several sensors is highly time consuming and sometimes inefficient for road application. Therefore, an estimation of drivable path based on features of road is required for high speed autonomous navigation on road. In this paper, an estimation method of drivable path using camera and 2D laser rangefinder is proposed. First, a vanishing point is estimated based on image data from CCD camera. Second, a road width is estimated based on range data from 2D laser rangefinder. Finally, the drivable path is estimated by fusing the vanishing point and the road width. The proposed method is tested on both well-structured road and unpaved road like cross-country situation.

The Utilization of Google Earth Images as Reference Data for The Multitemporal Land Cover Classification with MODIS Data of North Korea

  • One of the major obstacles to classify and validate Land Cover maps is the high cost of acquiring reference data. In case of inaccessible areas such as North Korea, the high resolution satellite imagery may be used for reference data. The objective of this paper is to investigate the possibility of utilizing QuickBird high resolution imagery of North Korea that can be obtained from Google Earth data via internet for reference data of land cover classification. Monthly MODIS NDVI data of nine months from the summer of 2004 were classified into L=54 cluster using ISODATA algorithm, and these L clusters were assigned to 7 classes - coniferous forest, deciduous forest, mixed forest, paddy field, dry field, water, and built-up areas - by careful use of reference data obtained through visual interpretation of the high resolution imagery. The overall accuracy and Kappa index were 85.98% and 0.82, respectively, which represents about 10% point increase of classification accuracy than our previous study based on GCP point data around North Korea. Thus we can conclude that Google Earth may be used to substitute the traditional reference data collection on the site where the accessibility is severely limited.

  • 본 논문에서는 배터리 관리 기능을 갖는 빛 에너지 하베스팅 충전기 회로를 제안하였다. 제안된 회로는 MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking)를 통해 빛 에너지를 솔라 셀로부터 수확하고, 수확한 에너지를 외부 배터리 커패시터에 연결하여 충전한다. 배터리 관리회로(Battery Management)의 신호에 따라, 배터리 커패시터의 충전 상태를 조절한다. 제안된 회로는 0.35um CMOS 공정으로 설계하였으며, 모의실험을 통해 동작을 검증하였다. 설계된 회로의 최대효율은 84.8%이며, 칩 면적은 패드를 포함하여 $1350um{\times}1200um$이다.

동력전달용 베벨기어의 강도평가 시스템 개발 연구 (Development of Rating Systems for Power Transmission Bevel Gears)

  • Rating systems of bevel gears(straight, spiral, and zerol bevel gears) which are commonly used as power transmission devices for non-papallel axes are developed on the personal computer, which analyze and/or evaluate the gear design and the service performance at the point of view of strength and durability. The typical considerations of the ratings are the bending strength, the surface durability, and the scoring resistance. The ratings are carried out using the reliable standards of AGMA & Gleason Works. Therefore, the system is built so that the variables or factors considered differently in those standards and the strength, dura- bility, and scoring partially in Gleason are appraised seperately by each method, and a series of the estimation processes is integrated into the system so as to compare each result. The developed rating systems can be used in the initial stage of gear design process, and also a better design can be performed by the evaluation of the initial design at the view point of gear strength and durability. Additionally, it is useful for the trouble-shooting of bevel gear system and to the purpose of introducing the methods for maintaining design strength in service, with appraising the gear strength after design or with appraising the influencing factor as a whole. Therefore, this rating systems can help the aim of design automation of bevel gears.

  • Silver electrode having a high Electrocatalytic activity is oxygen-permeable electrode, in which oxygen ad-atoms are adsorbed and moved toward YSZ electrolyte by bulk diffusion. It is the different point in comparison to usual porous electrodes, especially platinum, which react with oxygen only in TPBs(Three Phase Boundaries). Also ad-atoms at TPBs of Pt are diffused to YSZ electrolyte by interfacial diffusion mechanism. These properties were used for turning down the operating temperature of YSZ from over $600^{\circ}C$ to below $450^{\circ}C$. The different heat-treatment temperature between a working electrode and a reference electrode suppresses the formation of silver oxides and reduces a volatility of Ag as well. Above all, these own characteristics and special processes of Ag improved a long-term stability of a oxygen sensor.

  • IEEE 802.11를 비롯한 여러 무선 네트워크에서는 multi-rate을 활용한 시스템 성능향상에 관한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 그 중에 한가지 연구결과로 제안된 방법이 rDCF.이다. 만약 Mesh 네트워크에서 rDCF를 동작시킨다면, 시스템 throughput의 증가, Packet delay의 감소와 항께 채널상태에 따라 포워딩 전략을 다르게 함으로써 채널 error의 영향이 줄어들 것으로 기대해 볼 수 있다. 하지만 기존의 rDCF를 아무런 revision 없이 Mesh 네트워크에 적용하기에는 spatial reuse 측면에서 비효율적이다. Mesh 네트워크에서는 외부 네트워크와 access point 지점이 되는 portal쪽으로 traffic이 집중되는 것이 일반적이므로 portal에 가까울수록 traffic간의 contention도 가중되므로 시스템 전체 성능에 영향을 미치게 된다. 이러한 문제를 줄이기 위하여 무선 네트워크 환경에서 spatial reuse 측면을 향상시킴으로써 동시에 진행되는 communication 수를 늘리는 방법이 있다. 그러므로 본 논문에서 rDCF의 spatial reuse를 늘임으로써 좀더 Mesh Network위에서도 효율적으로 작동할 수 있는 기법을 제시하고자 한다.

  • In oder for the robot to walk with stability, trajectory generation method for the biped robot is important. In this paper proposed the genetic algorithm to optimize biped robot motion parameters. Because most of trajectory generation, the walking parameters determined arbitrarily. Formulating the constraints of the motion parameters, and the trajectory is derived by cubic spline function. Finally walking patterns are described through simulation studies. When the ZMP(zero moment point) and DSM(dynamic stability margin) are satisfied, the walking pattern is chosen.

  • The effect of some alcohols on the riboflavin derivatives in non-polar solvent was studied by various spectroscopic method in order to support the view point that alcohol may directly interect with the isoalloxazine moiety of FAD, the coenzyme of D-amino-acid oxidase. The most possible association complex between alcohol and riboflavin is the 1:1 complex through the 2-C carbonyl function of the isollaxazine ring nd the hydroxyl proton of alcohol. It is appeared that methanol has a larger association constant than any other alcohols, and the association constant decreases with the carbon number increases and being bulkier in the alkyl group of alcohols.
