조선시대 아동교육용 문헌에 나타난 정서과정에 대한 구범적 기대(II) (A Study on Normative Expectation of Emotional Process in Children′s Tectbooks of the Chosen Dynasty(II))

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the normative expectations of positive emotions such as happiness and pride in Korean culture by analyzing the children's textbooks in the Chosen Dynasty period. The method of this study was document analysis and the materials for analysis were 'Dongmongsensp', 'Gyukmongyogyul', 'Myungimbogam', and 'Sohak', that were the textbooks for children's education and invoked the ethics of individual life based on Confucianism. The analysis was focused on the antecedent events, emotional consequences, and emotional regulation in the emotional process of happiness and pride. According to the analysis, happiness was caused by the accomplishment of cultural tasks such as supporting parents, observing laws, being moderate, improving oneself with reading good books, and modeling good deeds, as well as parents' love, which had desirable consequences. Hence, the emotional regulation was to enhance happiness, but far as immoderate experience of happiness, the regulatory rule was expected to suppress it. Also, the antecedents of pride were those demonstrating to have power or occupying a high social position, and the consequences of pride led to self-destruction, and pride was therefore not allowed to be expressed. Consequently, happiness was enhanced because it motivated individuals to accomplish cultural tasks of interdependence, whereas pride was inhibited because it tended to disengage self from social connectedness.

어린이 참여디자인을 위한 디자인 교육 프로그램 연구 - 수원시 어공6호 어린이공원을 사례로 - (A Design Education Program for Children's Participation Design - Focused on Eogong 6ho Children's Park in Suwon -)

  • 최근 도시공간의 설계과정에서 주민 참여와 사용자 중심의 디자인이 중요해지고 있다. 어린이공원도 사용자인 어린이의 의견 반영할 필요에 대한 논의가 시작되고 있는 바, 어린이의 의견을 반영하기 위해서는 기존 주민참여방식과 다른 방법론이 필요할 것이다. 본 연구에서는 어린이를 대상으로 디자인 교육프로그램을 구성하여 디자인 교육을 통한 사용자 의견을 설계안으로 반영하여 어린이공원에 적용했다. 교육프로그램은 기존의 연구 및 어린이를 대상으로 하는 디자인 교육, 참여디자인 프로그램을 참조하여 5주간의 교육프로그램, 교재, 교수방법을 구성하였다. 이 프로그램을 시범적으로 수원시 권선구에 위치한 어공6호 어린이공원을 대상지로 삼고, 선일초등학교 5학년 1반 아이들과 함께 워크숍을 진행한 결과를 재해석하여 어린이공원 공사과정에 반영하였다. 본 디자인 교육프로그램은 참여 교수들의 구성 및 운영방법, 교재 및 교사교재 제작 등에서 다른 워크숍 프로그램과 차별성을 가지고 있으며, 이로 인하여 동일 과정을 반복할 수 있는 프로그램 기반을 구축했다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 추후, 준공 이후의 어린이공원의 사용현황을 모니터링 하는 등의 연구를 통해서 사용자 참여가 미치는 영향에 대한 검증이 추가적으로 필요하며, 앞으로 어린이 공원에 대한 보다 다양한 디자인 방법론의 적용과 사용자인 어린이 의견을 반영할 수 있는 다양한 시도들이 축적될 필요가 있다.

한국과 미국의 초등과학 교과서 과학 글쓰기 과제 분석 (Analysis of Science Writing Tasks in Korean and American Science Textbooks)

  • This study is intended to investigate the frequency of scientific writing tasks in Korean and American science textbooks, to compare the differences in types of posing the writing tasks according to the level of the children's scientific cognition, and to analyze the differences in the organization and development of writing ones of each chapter and thus to propose an effective way of presenting scientific writing in science textbooks. Korean 'Science' and 'Experiment Observation Workbook'and Macmillan Mcgraw-Hill(MMH) Science for fourth graders were analyzed for the purpose. The results are as follows: First, Korean textbooks contain more science writing tasks per pages, and less per chapters than MMH one. Both text books provide balanced amount of science writing tasks, yet MMH especially does systematic exercises for each chapter. Second, the qualitative analysis of the textbooks' scientific writing shows that both textbooks contain a significant amount of "understanding" and "explanatory" writing, which reflects that the purpose of writing in science textbooks is leaning towards acquiring and verifying scientific concepts. In American textbooks, however, writings utilizing extensive cognition process and materials are also present. It is necessary for textbooks to present diverse and expressive writing assignments including personal opinions. Third, there are differences in organization and development of science writing tasks. Science writing tasks in Korean textbooks are present independently with lesson objectives of the chapters and practices, while those in MMH are systematically developed. Based on these results, it is necessary to systemize the textbooks' way of presenting writing tasks for effective teaching and learning. By organizing the writing materials and thus developing diverse materials, and by implementing extensive cognitive process in the writing activities, textbooks will be able to contribute in attracting the students' interests and in improving their scientific knowledge.

  • Children's textbooks and women's manuals were used to investigate parent-child relationships under the Neo-Confucianism of the Chosun Dynasty compared with the present. Current practices of filial piety (Hyo) have changed but are still based on Neo-Confucianism. In present-day child rearing, parents aim to love their children (Ja-Ae) and to teach them Neo-Confucian values.

현행 초등 과학 교육에 대한 현장의 실태 조사 - 전라남도를 중심으로 - (Survey on the Current Science Education at Elementary School in Jeonnam Province)

  • The survey is intended to improve science education by the analysis of problems produced in the following nine aspects (objectives, contents, materials, inquring methods, teaching methods, teachers, children, evalutions, admininative supports) during the past five years often the revision of new science curriculum. 1. View for science education. 1) The teacher's and children's view for science education can be seen renewed, being different from the old one. 2) Inquring method in learning and teaching began to take firm root and children came to know that it is the only way to study science. 3) Writers think that the new science education has stepped into the stage of being fixed to a considerable degree. 2. The aspect of administrative policy. 1) The amount of materials in possession is small and the present materials are lacking in solidity and precision. 2) Class room teacher's over load with miscellaneous things is a difficult problem to solve. 3) The shortage of the printed materials and books for children and teachers has an influence on the development of inquring method. 4) It causes cramming to examine all children at the same time by paper test. 5) It is more desirable to appoint qualified teacher only for science teaching. 3. Contents of science curriculum. 1) In current science textbooks. There can be found some contents which are difficult for teachers to understand and not in accordance with the reality of Korea. Therefore, it is imperative that contents of science textbooks should be reexamined. 2) As it is hard to teach concepts of reciprocal action and to prepare materials with teaching of the system of biological concepts, the teaching of contents is likely to be a cramming. 4. The aspect of in-service education. 1) It is obsolutely predominant reation that in-service education is making a great contribution to class room teaching. 2) As adiministrators' policy for science education has a great effect, in-service education for their enlightenment is needed.

우리나라 초등 수학 교과서와 미국 EM 교과서 비교 - 도형의 합동을 중심으로 - (A Comparison of the Textbooks for Elementary Mathematics Between Korea and U.S.A about Congruence of Figures)

  • 본 연구에서는 2007 개정 교육과정에 따른 우리나라 초등학교 수학 교과서와 EM 교육과정에 따른 미국의 초등학교 수학 교과서를 합동 학습 내용에 한정하여 비교하였다. 그 결과로 우리나라 교과서의 도형 및 합동 단원 개발과 교수 학습 방법에 도움을 줄 수 있는 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 합동을 정의할 때 다각형을 구성하는 선분, 각과 같은 기본도형의 합동을 제시하거나 다각형으로 합동을 정의한 후 선분, 각 등의 합동과 관련한 활동 등의 내용이 필요해 보인다. 둘째, 학생들에게 컴퍼스가 길이를 옮길 때에도 사용된다는 것을 알게 할 필요가 있다. 셋째, 합동의 활용으로 미국 EM 교과서에서 제시한 테셀레이션은 우리나라 교과서 개발에 참고해 봄 직하다.

제1차 생활 단원 중심 초등학교 수학교과서 재조명 연구 - 1학년 교과서를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Mathematics Textbooks In First Curriculum in South of Korea)

  • 이 논문에서는 제1차 교육과정에 근거한 초등학교 수학과 교과서 1학년의 내용을 분석하였다. 생활 단원 중심 교과서를 표방한 제1차 수학교과서는 생활상에 있어 자연친화적이며 아이들의 놀이에 해당하는 소재들이 많이 등장하고 있으며, 아이들의 수 세기 능력에 관한 연구 결과를 활용하는 등 실증적인 자료를 교사들에게 제공하려고 노력하였으며, 문자나 기호 등의 사용이 상당히 유예되어 있었다. 또한 연습을 강조하여 반복적인 연습 문제 구성을 선호하였다.

동화구연과 극화활동이 음성언어사용능력에 미치는 영향 (The effects of teaching English through storytelling with dramatization on the listening and speaking competence of children)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of teaching English through the techniques of storytelling with dramatization upon children's competence of English speaking and listening. These techniques are considered to enable children to have ample opportunity of use in and exposure to English, as well as interest. This study is sequenced as selecting stories by way of consulting literatures, developing a teaching model for practising classes through storytelling with dramatization, and analyzing the data resulting from the pre- and post-listening/speaking tests using the SPSS program. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: the experimental group shows better significance than the control one in the listening and speaking post-test. Therefore, literary units also need to be incorporated into English textbooks in order to improve children's aural-oral competence through the storytelling with dramatization.

초등학교 수학교과서 그림과 내용의 연계성 (The connection between illustrations and contents in elementary mathematics textbooks)

  • 수학 교과의 그림은 내용의 핵심을 잘 전달하면서 한편으로는 수학의 어려움을 완화시켜주는 복합적인 역할을 해야 한다. 본 연구는 그림과 글의 상호 보완적 관계, 그리고 그림의 감정 표현이라는 두 요소를 초등학교 수학 교과서 그림과 내용의 연계성을 보는 관점의 예로 제시하고, 중국, 일본, 인도, 미국 등의 외국 교과서를 이 관점에서 조사하여 우리나라 교과서 그림 제작에 대한 시사점을 얻었다. 이는 그림을 읽고 의미를 해석하는 과정을 수학 공부의 일부로서 다루어야 한다는 것, 등장인물이 가진 개성과 감정을 더욱 풍부하고 자유롭게 표현해야 한다는 것 등이다.

열린수학교육의 방향 탐색 (Searching for the Directions of Open Mathematics Education)

  • This study aims to reflect the origin and the meaning of open education and to derive pedagogical principles for open mathematics education. Open education originates from Socrates who was the founder of discovery learning and has been developed by Locke, Rousseau, Froebel, Montessori, Dewey, Piaget, and so on. Thus open education is based on Humanism and Piaget's psychology. The aim of open education consists in developing potentials of children. The characteristics of open education can be summarized as follows: open curriculum, individualized instruction, diverse group organization and various instruction models, rich educational environment, and cooperative interaction based on open human relations. After considering the aims and the characteristics of open education, this study tries to suggest the aims and the directions for open mathematics education according to the philosophy of open education. The aim of open mathematics education is to develop mathematical potentials of children and to foster their mathematical appreciative view. In order to realize the aim, this study suggests five pedagogical principles. Firstly, the mathematical knowledge of children should be integrated by structurizing. Secondly, exploration activities for all kinds of real and concrete situations should be starting points of mathematics learning for the children. Thirdly, open-ended problem approach can facilitate children's diverse ways of thinking. Fourthly, the mathematics educators should emphasize the social interaction through small-group cooperation. Finally, rich educational environment should be provided by offering concrete and diverse material. In order to make open mathematics education effective, some considerations are required in terms of open mathematics curriculum, integrated construction of textbooks, autonomy of teachers and inquiry into children's mathematical capability.
