편마암-물 반응계에서 지하수의 지화학적 진화 및 이차광물 생성에 관한 반응경로 모델링 (Reaction Path Modelling on Geochemical Evolution of Groundwater and Formation of Secondary Minerals in Water-Gneiss Reaction System)

  • The reaction path of water-gneiss in 200m borehole at the Soorichi site of Yugu Myeon, Chungnam was simulated by the EQ3NR/EQ6 program. Mineral composition of borehole core and fracture-filling minerals, and chemical composition of groundwater was published by authors. In this study, chemical evolution of groundwater and formation of secondary minerals in water-gneiss system was modelled on the basis of published results. The surface water was used as a starting solution for reaction. Input parameters for modelling such as mineral assemblage and their volume percent, chemical composition of mineral phases, water/rock ratio reactive surface area, dissolution rates of mineral phases were determined by experimental measurement and model fit. EQ6 modelling of the reaction path in water-gneiss system has been carried out by a flow-centered flow through open system which can be considered as a suitable option for fracture flow of groundwater. The modelling results show that reaction time of 133 years is required to reach equilibrium state in water-gneiss system, and evolution of present groundwater will continue to pH 9.45 and higher na ion concentration. The secondary minerals formed from equeous phase are kaolinite, smectite, saponite, muscovite, mesolite, celadonite, microcline and calcite with uincreasing time. Modeling results are comparatively well fitted to pH and chemical composition of borehole groudwater, secondary minerals identified and tritium age of groundwater. The EQ6 modelling results are dependent on reliability of input parameters: water-rock ratio, effective reaction surface area and dissolution rates of mineral phases, which are difficult parameters to be measured.

골재의 암석학적 특징이 콘크리트 기본특성에 미치는 영향 (The Study of the Basic Physical Properties in the Concrete Used Aggregates with the Different Mineralogical Features)

  • The aggregates with the different mineralogical features are studied how to affect the basic physical properties of concretes according to the changes of the chemical composition, mineralogical composition, crystal size, the standard qualities in the aggregates in using chemical analysis, X.R.D. DT-TGA, polarized light microscope, streoscopic microscope, standard test method of aggregates & concretes. At this studies, we found that aggregates without the seathered mineral such as muscovite & kaolin mineral etc, is superior to the others with the weathered mineral, even if it's standard qualities are inferiored to the other's. For examples, in manufacturing high strength concretes. The strength of concretes used aggregates without weathered mineral are improved about 15% than the other's and also. For general mixture to manufacture remicon, more about 10-20% than the other's strength and workability.

  • The characteristic fitness of food to each Sa-sang constitution and the relationship between Han-Yeoul characteristics and chemical composition after classifying Samgye-tang ingredients and other food into Ohn-Yeoul-Ryang-Han characteristic were assessed. When the suitable constitution to the each characteristic was investigated after classifying Samgye-tang ingredients and other food into Han, Ryang, Pyound, Ohn and Yeoul of which fitness case for Soeumin was 44∼63% but fitness case for Soyangin and Taeyangin was only 0∼18%. When the relationship between Samgye-tang ingredients and other food classified into Ohn-Yeoul-Ryang-Han and chemical composition of fatty acid, amino acid, vitamin and mineral was investigated, the value of correlation coefficient was extremely low. There was not the relationship between chemical composition and Han-Yeoul classification. Therefore it should be further investigated the relationship between characteristic and chemical composition by additional analysis index.

Clonal Variation of Physical Characteristics and Mineral Composition in Acorn of Quercus acutissima and Q. serrata Seed Orchard

  • This study investigated mineral element concentrations of acorns in Quercus acutissima and Quercus serrata seed orchard, so that to estimate the variation of these species based on the chemical composition in different clones from plus trees. The acorns were collected from ten clones of each species grown in the same clonal seed orchard. The nutritional concentration of acorns was significantly different between the clones and species. The concentration of nutrient for the whole acorn followed in this general sequence: P > K > Na > Mg > Ca > Mn > Fe > Zn > Cu. The mineral concentrations of acorns in clones of Q. acutissima and Q. serrata contained P (494 to 684 and 541 to 672 mg/100 g), K (114 to 569 and 140 to 251 mg/100 g), Na (57 to 121 and 49 to 85 mg/100 g), Mg (29 to 37 and 26 to 42 mg/100 g), Ca (10 to 53 and 26 to 68 mg/100 g), Mn (0.5 to 3.4 and 1.8 to 4.5 mg/100 g), Fe (0.7 to 1.1 and 0.0 to 2.2 mg/100 g), Zn (0.34 to 0.81 and 0.38 to 0.84 mg/100 g), and Cu (0.13 to 0.40 and 0.09 to 0.34 mg/100 g) respectively. Even though acorns of Q. serrata are smaller in size than Q. acutissima, acorns of Q. serrata contained significantly higher concentration of phosphorus, calcium, iron and manganese than Q. acutissima. Based on the mineral composition of the acorns, this study has shown that the clones of Q. acutissima and Q. serrata have different ability to accumulate mineral nutrients which could indicate the variation of Quercus species in terms of mineral acquisition and accumulation.

  • 암석을 파쇄해서 골재를 생산할 때 부산물로서 암분을 위주로 한 고상 석분 혹은 슬러지가 발생한다. 이러한 부산물은 폐기물로 분류되어 활용되지 못하고 대부분 매립 처분되고 있다. 이 부산물은 원석의 종류와 생산 과정에 따라서 광물조성, 화학조성 및 물성 등이 다르다. 따라서 부산물의 물리적 혹은 화학적 특성을 잘 활용할 수 있는 기술이 개발 된다면 폐기 처분 대신 경제적 및 환경적 이익을 거둘 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구에서는 국내 골재 생산업체로부터 석분 슬러지를 수집하여 XRD 광물 분석, 입도분석 그리고 주성분 화학 분석을 수행하여 물리적 화학적 특성을 조사하였다. 또한 국내외적으로 진행된 고상 석분 및 슬러지의 활용사례를 통해서 연구 동향을 파악하고 향후 연구 분야 도출에 기초 자료로 활용토록 하였다.

암석의 풍화과정 및 도자기 제조과정에 따른 희토류원소 분포도의 변화: 토양화학 및 고고학적 응용을 위한 기초연구 (Variation of Rare Earth Element Patterns during Rock Weathering and Ceramic Processes: A Preliminary Study for Application in Soil Chemistry and Archaeology)

  • 지표지질의 지구화학적 변화 추적과 고고학 유물의 원료(점토질 토양)의 기원지를 밝혀내기 위한 도구로서의 희토류원소의 역할을 확인하고자 하였다. 실험용 지질시료로는 화강암과 편마암 그리고 이들로부터의 화학적 풍화과정을 거친 풍화암과 풍화토양을 선택하여 이들의 화학조성변화를 비교하였고, 고고학적 응용을 위한 시료로는 점토질 토양과 이를 이용하여 제조한 토기 및 도기를 채취하여 이들의 화학조성변화를 비교하였다. 연구결과에 의하면, 일반적인 화학조성간의 상대적인 비교로는 암석-풍화암-토양 혹은 점토질 토양-토기-도기로의 변화에 따른 지구화학적 특성변화의 상관성이 없는 반면에 PAAS(Post Archean Australian Shale)로 규격화한 희토류원소 분포도는 거의 동일한 양상을 띄었다. 이는 희토류원소의 분포도가 다른 지구화학적 연구기법에 기법에 비해 퇴적물의 기원물질 혹은 고고학적 유물의 재료를 밝혀내는데 더 유용함을 지시해준다고 볼 수 있다.

Botanical Composition, Herbage Production and Plant Mineral Contents as Affected by Application of Chemical Fertilizer and Fermented Sawdust Pig Manure on Cheju Brown Volcanic Ash Pasture Soil

  • This experiment was carried out during the period from September, 1997 to October, 1998 to determine the effect of fermented saw-dust pig manure (FSP) application on the herbage production on a mixed pasture in the Cheju brown volcanic ash soil. Split plot design (main plot: 3 nitrogen application levels of 0, 150 and 300 kgiha; sub plot: 4 pig sawdust manure levels of 0, 3, 6 and 12 tonha) was used. Plant height and dry matter yield increased significantly with an increase of nitrogen and FSP level. There was no difference in the botanical composition of grasses as affected by FSP application level, but herbage yields of grass species were increased by nitrogen application compared to that without nitrogen application. Botanical composition of white clover decreased with an increase of nitrogen application, but increased with an increase of FSP application level. Percentages of weeds were not affected by application rates of chemical nitrogen fertilizer and swine manure in the mixed species pasture. Nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium contents of species in the pasture significantly increased with increasing application rates of nitrogen fertilizer. In conclusion, it would be an optimum to apply 150 kgha of inorganic chemical fertilizer and plus either 3 or 6 toniha of fermented swine manure with sawdust for optimum production of mixed pasture on Cheju Island. Chemical Composition and Active Antioxidants of Eucommia ulmoides Oliv. Bark

  • Chemical composition of the Eucommia ulmoides bark, including extractives, proximate, mineral, fatty acid and monosaccharide compositions, was studied The most abundant mineral was calcium (533.17 mg/l00 g). $\alpha-linolenic$ acid (24.7%) and linoleic acid (24.3%), showed higher contents among the fatty acids. Major monosaccharides of E. ulmoides balk were arabinose (13.94 mg/g), xylose (18.91 mg/g) and glucose (119.7 mg/g). From the bark of E ulmoides, four compounds were isolated and their structures were elucidated as caffeic acid (I), kaempferol (II), quercetin (III) and isoquercitrin (IV) by spectroscopic analysis such as NMR and MS, including cellulose TLC and other chemical evidence such as hydrolyzation and acetylation. The antioxidant activities of four isolated compounds were evaluated by DPPH free radical scavenging, hydroxyl scavenging and reducing power assays. The results indicated that all the isolated compounds showed higher DPPH radical scavenging activity than $\alpha-tocopherol$ and BHT that were used as positive controls and these four compounds exhibited considerable reducing power and hydroxyl radical (OH) scavenging activity. Considering from the results above, it suggests that the E. ulmoides bark is a potential natural source of antioxidant material.

풍화에 의한 퇴적암의 물리-화학적 변화 (Physical and Chemical Variation of Sedimentary Rocks due to Weathering)

  • 퇴적암의 풍화특성을 파악하기 위해서는 풍화과정을 지배하는 암석의 광물조성과 화학성분에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 풍화정도에 따른 퇴적암의 특성을 고찰하기 위해서 대구지역에 분포하고 있는 퇴적암을 채취하여 화학 및 광물성분 분석과 물리 및 역학특성 시험을 실시하였다. 화학적풍화지수와 감열감량, 흡수율과 일축압축강도, 풍화지수와 일축압축강도가 좋은 상관관계를 나타내었으며 모암에 함유된 $A_2O_3$, CaO, $Na_2O$, $K_2O$, MgO 등의 화학성분과 조장석(Albite, Ab), 백운모(Muscovite, Ms), 마그네타이트(Magenetite, Mt)등의 광물성분이 풍화와 밀접한 관계가 있었다. 이 시험결과를 토대로 하여 퇴적암에 적용할 수 있는 정량적인 풍화도판정법의 적용성을 제시하자고 하였다.
