In order to reduce the negative effects of dynamic coupling among vehicle subsystems and improve the handling performance of vehicle under severe driving conditions, a vehicle chassis control integration approach based on a main-loop and servo-loop structure is proposed. In the main-loop, in order to achieve satisfactory longitudinal, lateral and yaw response, a sliding mode controller is used to calculate the desired longitudinal, lateral forces and yaw moment of the vehicle; and in the servo-loop, a nonlinear optimizing method is adopted to compute the optimal control inputs, i.e. wheel control torques and active steering angles, and thus distributes the forces and moment to four tire/road contact patches. Simulation results indicate that significant improvement in vehicle handling and stability can be expected from the proposed chassis control integration.

With a great requirement of innovation caused by severe competition current companies are encouraged to improve bottleneck areas in production procedure. Specially a chassis line in which assembly processes are mainly carried out manually has the large potential to be automated. The putting of spare tire in trunk in chassis line is still dominated by free dropping method. Through that, parts in trunk such as luggage room lamp, jack and so on were damaged and the complaint of assembler in the next process was occurred due to physical strength. To eliminate these, tile robot system was in this paper developed to place spare tire on the mounting hole in trunk. The movement of robot was synchronized with the velocity of chassis hanger. With this automated system the productivity of the chassis line was increased from the benefits such as simplification of the system using only robot without the mechanically synchronized transport, inserting spare tire into the right position with robot, reduction of damaged parts and production of various type of car.

In order to investigate how the chassis frame stiffness including body structure affects vehicle handling characteristics, in this paper, objective test evaluations such as steady state circle maneuvering test and pulse input transient test are performed. The basic steer characteristics can be obtained from stability factor and 4 parameter method is used to evaluate vehicle handling characteristics between original vehicle and the other with reinforced chassis. The result shows that vehicle with reinforced chassis has advantages in handling characteristics.

Dynamic analysis of a three-axle heavy truck is carried out with rigid body model and flexible body model. To see the effects of chassis flexibility, the chassis is modeled as flexible body. The mass matrix, stiffness matrix, and vibration normal modes of the chassis are obtained by a finite element analysis program, and four vibration normal modes are used in the flexible body model. The vehicle model consisting of a frame, a cab, suspensions, an engine, a deck, a seat, and tires, has total 77 degrees of freedom. The result shows that the peaked acceleration in the flexible model is lower than that of the rigid body model.
In this study, a test bed for vehicle longitudinal control is developed using a chassis dynamometer and real time 3-D graphics. The proposed test bed system consists of a chassis dynamometer on which test vehicle can run longitudinally, a video system that shows virtual driver view, and computers that control the test vehicle and realize the real time 3-D graphics. The purpose of the proposed system is to test vehicle longitudinal control and warning algorithms such as Adaptive Cruise Control(ACC), stop and go systems, and collision warning systems. For acceleration and deceleration situations which only need throttle movements, a vehicle longitudinal spacing control algorithm has been tested on the test bed. The spacing control algorithm has been designed based on sliding mode control and road grade estimation scheme which utilizes the vehicle engine torque map and gear shift information.

The development of automotive rear chassis part using tube forming process has advantage of increase in part durability and decrease in its weight. We developed tubular type rear CTBA(Coupled Torsion Beam Axle) part with 60K high strength steel developed by POSCO in this project. The result was demonstrated that tubular type CTBA shows excellent durability performance and $10\%$ weight reduction compared with V-beam type CTBA in our work. Furthermore, we will adapt this technology to mass production and apply to the other chassis parts.

This work deals with finding a suitable position correction algorithm of industrial robot based on measuring gaps between door and chassis. The algorithm calculates correction quantities and then must allow visually acceptable door-chassis assembly take. The algorithm simulation is performed for a simple door-chassis model, and its effectiveness is addressed in terms of the predefined total unformity, line uniformity. In addition, the error sensitivity analysis of the rotation center of door due to the mismatch of robot grasping is performed using the algorithm.

Unlike ordinary vehicle chassis frame, chassis frame of military vehicle is long and that is operated in harsh driving environment in middle of war. Thus, because large dynamic loads is acting on the frame, it is important to secure the durability of the frame based on the structural dynamic characteristic analysis. The purpose of the study is that the chassis frame is optimized to secure durability of the chassis frame of the military vehicle according to the structural dynamic characteristic analysis. Also, structure optimization are performed using parametric optimization and topology optimization methods.
The aluminum chassis drive gear manufacturing process improvement has been very effective in both technical and economic aspects. Technology for Shear mold design technology, mold material selection and processing technology, and press molding technology has improved greatly overall. In the meantime, it is necessary to clarify the causes of defects that occur frequently due to lack of technology, Based on this, it is meaningful that it has secured the ability to respond to new product development and molding in the future. By applying these technologies, we plan to expand not only the drive gear chassis, but also various types of press forming such as frame, handle, various fastening parts of system window. In addition, the ability to develop precision products in the future is expected to become a driving force in further enhancing the competitiveness of companies.

In this study, a procedure is presented for the dynamic analysis of a multibody tracked vehicle system. The planar vehicle model used in this investigation is assumed to consist of two kinematically decoupled subsystems. i.e., the chassis subsystem and track subsystem. The chassis subsystem includes the chassis frame, sprocket, idler and rollers, while the track subsystem is represented as a closed kinematic chain consisting of rigid links interconnected by revolute joints. The nonlinear contact force modules describing the interaction between track links, and sprocket, idler, rollers and ground will be developed.
