Reuse-partitioning is a simple technique that can be used to improve the capacity of a cellular system. In the previous researches, authors do not explain how a channel is selected and what happens when there is no channel available when a call arrives. Therefore, in this paper, we describe a simple channel selection procedure and analyze the performance of a system. The performance is presented in terms of the channel utilization and call blocking probability by varying offered load per cell. Our analytical results may be added in a realistic performance analysis of reuse-partitioning-based system.
In this paper, we propose a dynamic spectrum hole grouping method that changes the grouping range of spectrum hole according to the resources amount required by secondary users in wideband spectrum cognitive wireless networks, and then the proposed method is applied to channel allocation for the secondary user service. The proposed method can improve waste of resources in the existing static spectrum hole grouping in virtue of grouping dynamically as much the predicted spectrum holes resources as secondary users require. Simulation results show that channel allocation method with the proposed dynamic grouping outperforms that with the static grouping method in resources utilization under acceptable secondary user service performance.
A change in distribution structure affect a consumption structure which may result in considerable changes in lifestyle including food purchase. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of change of distribution structure on the indigenous fermented food purchase. The informations of this study were obtained from 407 housewives residing in Seoul and the capital area by using questionnaire during May to June, 1997 Their data were statistically analyzed based on frequency, mean, and $X^2-test$. The results were as follows; 1) The percentages of subjects buying ready made fermented food were 69.8% for Jotkals(salt-fermented fish products), 22.3% for Kochujang(fermented red pepper soybean paste), 21.6% for Janachis(pickled basic side dishes), 21% for Kanjang(Korean style soybean sauce), 17.1% for Toenjang(Korean style soybean paste), and 3% for Kimchi(seasoned and fermented vegetables). 2) With decreasing age, preparation ability of Kanjang, Janachis, and Kimchi. The subjects living close to the new distribution channel were higher in ready made fermented food than the others. 3) Compared to the subject living far from the new distribution channel, the subject living close to the new distribution channel was high in frequency of new distribution channel utilization for indigenous fermented food purchase but low in frequency of conventional market utilization. The younger in age, higher in educational level, and nuclear family, the higher the utilization of new distribution channel for indigenous fermented food purchase.

In the IS-95 packet service system, the radio channels are generally classified into the dedicated and the common traffic channels. In this paper, a common traffic channel access method is proposed for the COMA packet service system to enhance the radio resource utilization while guaranteeing QoS to the users. The proposed method is based on the permission probability for the common traffic channel user. To derive permission probability, optimization models are developed for two different QoS constraints. Approximation methods are also developed.

Video streaming service over wireless networks is a challenging task because of the changes in the wireless channel conditions that can occur due to interference, fading, and station mobility. To provide an efficient wireless video streaming service, the rate adaptation scheme should improve wireless node performance and channel utilization. Moreover, the quality adaptation scheme should be considered at the streaming application. To meet these requirements, we propose a new cross-layer design for video streaming over wireless networks. This design includes the rate and quality adaptation schemes. The rate adaptation scheme selects the optimal transmission mode and resolves the performance anomaly problem. Based on performance improvement by the proposed rate adaptation scheme, our quality adaptation scheme improves the quality of video streaming. Through performance evaluations, we prove that our cross-layer design improves the wireless channel utilization and the quality of video streaming.

In this paper, we proposed ARAHE(Adaptive Resource Allocation algorithm for HIPERLAN/2 with Error channel). It uses EIB(Error Indication Bits) for efficient resource allocation. We evaluate the performance of ARAHE by simulation and the result shows ARAHE has better performance than current method in the case of delay, utilization and TSR(Transmission Success Rate).

In this Paper. Multi-channels L-Expressnet protocol is proposed by supplementing multi-channels control method. This protocol is proposed to complement the shortcomings of the basic protocol which is used for the medium access in LAN. We analyzed the protocol in channel utilization viewpoint and compared the result with that of the Expressnet and L-Expressnet protocol. From this result, we showed that the channel utilization or the Multi-channels L-Expressnet Protocol is superior to that of the other medium access control methods when the channel traffic is increased.

In part-I of the paper, two sub-channel structures, either contiguous or distributed, were considered. Modeling the SNR distribution over a sub-channel as Ricean in general, the statistical chracteristics were investigated. In this part of the paper, we develop a generalized two step channel/resource allocation algorithm, which incorporates the two statistical measurements, and analyze the spectral efficiency of OFDMA in terms of average frequency utilization for the two sub-channel structures. In OFDMA with distributed structure, the key design parameter would be the sub-channel bandwidth. To give an insight into the impact on this parameter, we show in the numerical results the frequency utilization as a function of sub-channel bandwidth normalized to coherence bandwidth. As confirmed by numerical results, for contiguous sub-channel structure, we obtain the nominal multiuser diversity gain when the sub-channel bandwidth is smaller than the coherence bandwidth and lose the gain as it is getting larger.

In this letter, we consider a 7-step transmission procedure of a large number of machine nodes when they simultaneously request random access to transmit uplink data. We model the radio resource utilization of LTE systems, and analyze the overloaded resources. From the simulation results, we show that the resource of PDCCH becomes significantly overloaded as the number of machine nodes increases in a cell. To alleviate the overload of PDCCH, we allocate radio resource of PDSCH to PDCCH. The result shows that the resource utilization of PDCCH is improved.

Dynamically exploiting unused-spectrum, cognitive radio has been proposed to solve spectrum utilization problem. In cognitive radio, it is important to minimize the interference to primary service as well as to provide efficient channel allocation. In this paper, we propose a multi-channel allocation scheme based on spectrum hole prediction. Proposed scheme considered both interference length and channel capacity to limit the interference to primary user as well as to enhance system performance. Simulation results show the proposed scheme improves the system throughput.
