A Design of Push-push Voltage Controlled Oscillator using Frequency Tuning Circuit with Single Transmission Line (단일 전송선로의 주파수 동조회로를 이용한 push-push 전압제어 발진기의 설계 및 제작)

  • In this paper, a push-push VCDRO (Voltage Controlled Dielectric Resonator Oscillator) with a modified frequency tuning structure is investigated. The push-push VCDRO designed at 16GHz is manufactured using a LTCC (Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic) technology to reduce the circuit size. The frequency tuning structure is embedded in intermediate layer of A6 substrate by an advantage of LTCC process. Experimental results show that the fundamental frequency suppression is above 30dBc, the frequency tuning range is 0.43MHz over control voltage of 0 to 12V, and phase noise of push-push VCDRO presents a good performance of -103dBc/Hz at 100KHz offset frequency from carrier.

  • We have developed the detection method of the resonance frequency of micro/nano mechanical resonator using optical method. The optical interferometery method enabled us to detect the displacement change of resonators within several nm scale. The micro mechanical resonator was produced by attaching a micro mechanical cantilever to a piezo ceramic. The mass of cantilever was increased by evaporating Au using electron beam evaporator and the mass variation was estimated by detecting the resonance frequency changes.

  • The ceramic filters were developed using technology similar to that of quartz crystal and electromechanical filter. However, the key to this development involved the theoretical analysis of vibration modes and material improvements of piezoelectric ceramics. The primary application of ceramic filters has been for consumer-market use. Accordingly, a major emhpasis has involved mass production technology, leading to low-priced devices. A typical ceramic filter includes monolithic resonators and capacitors packaged in unique configurations. Nakazawa developed a double-mode resonator as two acoustically coupled single resonators. And he developed 10.7MHz crystal filters using multi-energy trapping mode of thickness shear vibration. He succeeded in realizing a two-pole band pass filter response without external inductance by splitting a dot electrode to creat coupled symmetric and antisymmetric vibration modes. Accordingly, the simulation for ceramic filter were important. So that, this paper were investigated the pass frequency of filter on the electrode length and thickness of ceramic.

  • A technique to measure the adsorption characteristic of surface area and pore size of a ceramic thin film is proposed, and its performance is examine. The thin film is fabricated directly on the resonator surface to measure the adsorption capacity of the film as it is, and using carbon dioxide makes the measurement easy. The results indicates that the measured surface area is satisfactory, while the pore size has some error. It is suggested that readily available carbon dioxide can be used to determine adsorption capacity of thin film at room temperature.

  • So far, many kinds of researches on the chip components and MCM-C RF module especially on the 3-dimensional ceramic module using embedded passives have been performed. LTCC system has many kinds of advantages, like low loss, low cost of process, stability of process etc..The electrical behaviors of components are affected by that of the material systems including dielectrics and conductors. In this study, many kinds of conductor pastes in the variation with metal content and grain size are fabricated and their effect on the characteristics of stripline resonator are examined upto 6 ㎓.

  • Generally, the dielectric constant and loss tangent are gotten by resonators. This paper presents analysis of the comparing the dielectric constant and loss tangent from the Ring, T and series gap structures. The T structure can be analyzed easily at wideband characteristic with simple design. the Ring can ignore the radiation loss from the open-ended effect. the Series gap can get more accurate permittivity than a Ring structure. The Used materials were dupont9599 LTCC ceramic and daeju0086 Ag.

  • Dielectric and piezoelectric properties of (Pb1-1.5xLnx)(Ti0.98Mn0.02)O3 ceramics with x=0~0.2 have been investigated. Pb(Ti0.98Mn0.02)O3 showed poor sinterability and cracking on cooling, but the substitution of Nd3+ ions into Pb2+ sites resulted in dense microstructures without cracking through reducing crystallographic anisotropy. The Nd3+ substitution, however, deteriorated the temperature stability of the piezoelectric properties because of lowering the Curie point. Electromechanical anisotropy(Kt/Kp) indicated a maximum value of 10 when x=0.1. This result might be attributed to the counteracting effects that with increasing x, the lattice anisotropy decreases while the poling becomes easier due to the increase in O2- vacancy concentration. Thickness-shear mode resonators with (Pb0.85Nd0.1)(Ti0.98Mn0.02)O3 composition showed good resonant characteristics around 4.5 MHz.

  • 다른 부품 업체와 마찬가지로 이 분야에 있어서 국내 기업은 아직 시작 단계에 있으면서도 다른 선진사의 높은 기술 상태의 부품을 만들지 않으면 경쟁이 되지 않기 때문에 어려움이 많다. 또 압전 세라믹스 주파수 소자의 설계와 제작에 경험 있는 전문가도 별로 없기 때문에 시스템 업계가 요구하는 경향에 맞춰 부가가치가 높은 신 제품을 내놓기도 아직 힘든 상태이다. 통신기기와 전자기기에 있어서 이 부품의 중요성을 고려한다면 본 궤도에 도달할 때까지 외부의 지원이 필요하리라 생각된다. 아울러 전기와 재료 두 분야에 걸쳐 있는 본 압전 세라믹스 주파수 소자의 특성을 감안한다면 전기공학 전문가와 재료공학 전문가의 협력이 양산과 설계 과정에서 부딪치는 문제의 해결의 지름길이 될 수 있을 것이다.

  • The common practice for the identification of piezoelectric properties is based on the use of immittance behavior of a resonator with a certain geometry and poling direction. In this paper, a new method is suggested to identify the complex-valued piezoelectric material constants. This method is based on the minimization of differences between the analytical immittance and the experimental measurement of resonator. Non-linear minimization problems are formulated to find out the unknown properties relevant to the resonators. The immittance data used for identification are measured at a number of frequencies which cover the vicinity of resonance frequency and the low frequency region. To illustrate the proposed technique, the complex-valued coefficients are identified for a typical PZT4 ceramic composition.
