Steel fibre reinforced concrete (SFRC) is an anisotropic material due to the random orientation of the fibres within the cement matrix. Fibres under different inclination angles provide different strength contribution of a given crack width. For that the pull-out response of inclined fibres is of great importance to understand SFRC behaviour, particularly in the case of fibres with hooked ends, which are the most widely used. The paper focuses on the numerical modelling of the pull-out response of this kind of fibres from high-strength cementitious matrix in order to study the effects of different inclination angles of the fibres to the load-displacement pull-out curves. The pull-out of the fibres is studied by means of accurate three-dimensional finite element models, which take into account the nonlinearities that are present in the physical model, such as the nonlinear bonding between the fibre and the matrix in the early stages of the loading, the unilateral contact between the fibre and the matrix, the friction at the contact areas, the plastification of the steel fibre and the plastification and cracking of the cementitious matrix. The bonding properties of the fibre-matrix interface considered in the numerical model are based on experimental results of pull-out tests on straight fibres.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of composition of underground structural wall and H-pile in soil cement. The results of previous experimental studies are re-analyzed and the nonlinear cross-sectional analyses of composite basement walls are performed to verify their nonlinear flexural behavior. Based on the study, it is explained how the gap deformation between H-Pile and RC wall should be considered in the design of flexure of composite underground walls. The nonlinear cross-sectional analysis shows that the load-displacement curves of composite basement wall specimens exhibiting flexural behavior exist between the results of the analysis of the complete and non-composite cases. When predicting the behavior of the composite basement wall by nonlinear cross-sectional analysis, the flexural behavior of the composite basement wall could be suitably predicted by considering the reduction of the composite ratio due to tensile stress acting on shear connectors.

In this study, the structural analysis is performed on the method of shallow block and deep cement mixing pile, and then their characteristics and associated behaviors were analyzed. In the case of continuous beam analysis, the predicted settlement was very small, and shear force and bending stress are somewhat overestimated. The frame method is similar to numerical analysis in the internal force shallow block and long pile, but because the settlement of pile is underestimated, the additional calculation using the reaction of the long pile is necessary. For soil arching method and piled raft foundation method, the excessive axial force of long pile was predicted because the load sharing of pile is very large compared to the other methods. In the behavior of the shallow block and deep pile method, the settlement of shallow block and contact pressure are much in the center than the edge. In the estimating method considering the interaction between improved material and ground, the load sharing of the soil-cement pile ranges from 20% to 45%, and the stress ratio is 2.0~5.0 less than piled DCM. The maximum member forces at the boundary conditions of pile head are similar, but in fixed head the axial force and vertical displacement are different in accordance with pile arrangement.
In this study, it was developed eco-friendly inorganic binding material concrete using ground granulated blast furnace slag and alkali activator (water glass, sodium hydroxides). Eight reinforced concrete beam using inoganic binding material concrete were constructed and tested under monotonic loading. The major variables were mixture ratio of alkali activator, type of admixture and admixture. Experimental programs were carried out to improve and evaluate the flexural performance of such test specimens, such as the load-displacement, the failure mode, the maximum load carrying capacity, and ductility capacity. All the specimens were modeled in scale-down size. The eco-friendly concrete using inorganic binding material encouraged alkali activation reaction was rapidly hardening speed and showed possibility as a high strength concrete. Also, the RC beams using new materials showed similar behavior and failed similarly with RC beam used portland cement. It is thought that eco-friendly inorganic binding material concrete can be used with construction material and product as a basic research to replace cement concrete. If there is application to structures in PC member as well as production of 2nd concrete product, it could be improved the productivity and reduction of construction duration etc.

Due to the cost burden of new construction, the necessity of repair and retrofitting of aged structures is sharply increasing as the domain of repair and retrofitting construction is expanding. Because of the necessity, new technologies for repair and retrofitting are continuously studied in Korea and foreign countries. Steel adhesive method, fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) surface adhesive method, and external prestressing method are used to perform the repair and retrofitting works in Korea. In order to consider a repair method using steel mesh reinforced cement mortar (SMCM), 3-point flexural member test was conducted considering repair area and layer number of SMCM. Five types of specimens including ordinary reinforced concrete (RC) specimen with dimensions of $1400{\times}500{\times}200$ (mm) were cast for testing the deflection measurement, a LVDT was installed at the top center of the specimens. Also, a steel strain gauge and a concrete strain gauge were placed at the center of the specimens. A steel strain gauge was also installed on the shear reinforcement. The 3 point flexural member test results showed that the maximum load of SMCM reinforced specimen was higher than that of basic RC specimen in all of the load-displacement curves. Also, the results showed that, when the whole lower part of the basic RC specimen was reinforced, the maximum load and strain were 1.18 and 1.37 times higher than that of the basic RC specimen, respectively. Each specimen showed a slightly different failure behavior where the difference of the results was caused by the difference in the adhesive level between SMCM and RC. Particularly, in SM-B1 specimen, SMCM spalled off during the experiment. This failure behavior showed that the adhesive performance for RC must be improved in order to utilize SMCM as repair and retrofitting material.
The bridge tested was 3 spans 90m-long PSC beam concrete bridge with a stub-type abutment which had a skew of 60$^{\circ}$ about the axis of bridge. A cement concrete was placed at the superstructural slab of the bridge. Inclinometers and straingauges were installed at piles as well. During 7 days-curing of superstructural slab, the pile behavior in response to hydration heat and drying shrinkage of the slab was monitored. Then monitored values were compared with the horizontal movement obtained from the HACOM program and the calculated lateral behavior obtained from the nonlinear p-y curves of pile. As a result, lateral behavior of H-piles by the field measurement occurred due to the influence of hydration heat and drying shrinkage obtained during curing of superstructural concrete. The lateral displacements by hydration heat and drying shrinkage were 2.2mmand 1.4mm respectively. It was observed as well that the inflection point of lateral displacement of pile was shown at 1.3m down from footing base. It means that the horizontal movement of stub abutment did not behave as the fixed head condition of a pile but behave as a similar condition. The measured bending stress did not show the same behavior as the fixed head condition of pile but showed a similar condition. The increment of maximum bending stress obtained from the nonlinear p-y curves of pile was about 300(kgf/$\textrm{km}^2$) and was 2 times larger than measured values regardless of installation places of straingauges. Meanwhile, lateral load, maximum lateral displacement, maximum bending stress and maximum bending moment of pile showed a linear behavior as curing of superstructural concrete slab.
This study was performed to measure the changes of the mandibular movement and the masticatory muscular activities - anterior temporal and masseter muscle of both side - reflected by intentional increase of anterior guidance angie. For this study, 5 volunteers (3 males and 2 females with average age of 24.0) were selected. Each volunteer had Angle's classification I and did not have any missing tooth except third molar and any extensive restorations. Metallic guide plate was made at volunteer's working model fabricated by improved dental stone and cemented to the palatal surface of maxillary central incisor using resin cement(Panavia $21^{(R)}$) and then adjusted not to give any occlusal interferences at intercuspal position. The activity of masticatory muscles and the changes of mandibular movement were recorded by EMG and Sirognathograph in Biopak analysing system(Bioresearch Inc., Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA). Measurement was done at before experiment, immediatley after placement, 1 week after placement, immediately after removal, and 1 week after removal. The results were as follows: 1. Moderate phonetic disturbance and mild headache were occured to 3 volunteers for 2 days after setting and 1 volunteer had positive reaction to percussion and slight midline diastema. But all of these clinical signs were diappeared 1 week after removal and the other volunteer did not have any special clinical sign. 2. In the EMG of the mandibular rest position, the mean value of anterior tempotal muscle was increased immediately after placement(p<0.01) and then decreased 1 week after placement(p<0.05) and increased 1 week after removal(p<0.05) but not recovered as before experiment. The mean value of masseter muscle was decreased during the experiment period. 3. In the EMG during mandibular protrusive movement, all muscular activity was decreased during the experiment period. Reduced activity was not recovered 1 week after removal(p<0.03). 4. During the habitual opening, anteroposterior movement of mandible was decreased immediately after placement(p<0.05) and then increased 1 week after placement but not statistically significant(p>0.1). Vertical movement was not shown significant difference during the experiment period(p>0.1). Lateral movement was decreased immediately after placement(p<0.05) and then increased 1 week after placement but not recovered as before experiment. The opening and closing velocity of mandible was shown minor changes but not statistically significant. 5. During the habitual opening, anteroposterior movement of mandible was decreased 1 week after placement(p<0.05) and then increased immediately after removal and recovered 1 week after removal as before experiment. Vertical movement was not shown significant changes. Lateral displacement of mandible was increased continuously and recovered 1 week after removal. Opening velocity was temporarily increased immediately after removal but recovered and closing velocity was not shown significant changes. 6. During the right side chewing, anteroposterior movement of mandible was increased immediately after removal but recovered and vertical movement was not shown statistically significant results. Lateral displacement and velocity of mandible were not shown significant results. 7. During the left side chewing, the changes of mandibular movement pattern were not shown statistically significant results.
The composition of most engineering materials is heterogeneous at some degree. It is simply a question of scale at which the level of heterogeneity becomes apparent. In the case of cementitious granular materials such as concrete the heterogeneity appears at the mesoscale where it is comprised of aggregate particles, a hardened cement paste and voids. Since it is difficult to consider each separate particle in the topological description explicitly, numerical models of the meso-structure are normally confined to two-phase matrix particle composites in which only the larger inclusions are accounted for. 2-D and 3-D concrete blocks(Representative Volume Element, RVE) are used to simulating heterogeneous concrete meso-structures in the form of aggregates in the hardened mortar with nearly zero-thickness linear or planar interfaces. The numerical sensitivity of these meso-structures are Investigated with respect to the different morphologies of heterogeneity and the different level of coupling constant among fracture mode I, II and III. In addition, a numerically homogenized concrete block in 3-D using Hashin-Shtrikman variational bounds provides an evidence of the effective cracking paths which are quite different with those of heterogenous concrete block. However, their average force-displacement relationship show a pretty close match each other.
The construction on these flimsy ground, activation of unsymmetrical surcharges, can often cause of the embankment road lateral flow or the destruction of the activities. In this study, the stability of the abutment pile foundation installed on soft ground and its behavior has been evaluated. The behavior of the abutment pile foundation under lateral flow was studied by verifying the behavior and reinforcement effects of the abutment pile foundation of previous studies about horizontal loads acting on the pile due to the lateral flow of the ground by performing finite element analysis. As a result of the consolidation analyses, the undrained cohesion or the strength of the soft ground, was increased by about 1.1 to 1.8 times by the increase in the strength of the soft ground according to the degree of consolidation. It is deemed reasonable to use 3.8 cm of the allowable displacement both economically and constructively, but considering the importance of the structure and the uncertainty of the ground, measurement shall be carried out during construction and thorough safety management of the lateral flow should be done.

Recent developments in architectural technologies and programs have enabled architects to think creatively and design free-form architecture. however, there are many problems in the production technology of FCP(Free-Form Concrete Panel). In particular, reduced accuracy due to lack of free-form panel production technology can lead to redesign of buildings as a result, problems such as an increase in construction cost and period. Therefore, this experiment aimed to compensate the decrease of the accuracy according to the displacement difference and to derive the proper mixing ratio for maintaining the shape during the free-form panel curing. In this study, molds were made using paraffin that is a recyclable phase change material. Concrete Panel is usually produced from Portland cement, dead burn magnesia, phosphate, borax and fine aggregate. In this study, four mixing ratios of FCP were selected after each material was blended to determine the proper blending ratio of the fluidity phase, the water absorption rate and the water content of the test piece. FCP was fabricated on the basis of the selected four compounding ratios and thickness and error rate were measured. Based on the error rate of the measured FCP, the quality standard was satisfied among the four compounding ratios.
