  • 3GPP LTE-Advanced (Release 10) system specifies carrier aggregation (CA) to enable high data rate on using multiple frequency bands, including the variout CA-specific deployment scenarios. Considering one of those scenarios in which the different directional sector antenna is employed by each frequency band, we propose a per-carrier cell selection scheme that can improve the average throughput of the cell-edge users by allowing each user equipment (UE) to select the frequency band of the adjacent cell. Furthermore, a distributed algorithm for inter-cell copperative scheduling in this scheme is proposed to support proportional fairness among the cells. It has been shown that the proposed scheduling algorithm for the per-carrier cell selection scheme improves the cell-edge user throughput roughly by 50% over that of the conventional scheme.

  • In this paper, we proposed a new buffer management and cell scheduling scheme for GFR service in ATM networks. The proposed scheme is able to satisfy fairness criteria and efficient cell service in GFR. Performance analysis through the simulation presents that the proposed scheme can meet fairness 2(MCR plus equal share), which are not met by conventional scheduling mechanisms such as WRR. Also, the proposed scheme is superior to WRR about 29% in throughput and more efficency in fairness criteria.

  • In this paper, I proposed a new WRR Cell Scheduling algorithm for improving the problem of existing smoothing scheme. in proposed algorithm, when queue of being service VC in present round is emptied, instead VC that difference between assigned weight and length of present buffer is biggest in all VC service. This result efficiency of bandwidth allocation is increased. And above all real-time traffic is serviced, non-real-time to allocate bandwidth of the remainder multimedia-service is possible. In one cycle, number of serviced average cell is increased. And for many eel serviced, length of total Duffer is decreased.

  • This paper deals with the development of a software module for production planning and scheduling activities of an existing Flexible Machining and Assembly System (FMAS). The Production Planning Module uses the hierarchical and sequential scheme based on "divide and conquer" philosophy. In this module, routes are determined based on the production order, orders are screened, tools are allocated, and order adjustments are executed according to the allocated tools. The Scheduling Module allocates the resources, determines the task priority and the start and completion times of tasks. Re-scheduling can be done to handle unforeseen situations such as lumpy demands and machine breakdowns. Since all modules are integrated with a central database and they interface independently, it is easy to append new modules or update the existing modules. The result of this study is used for operating the real FMAS consisting of a machining cell with 2 domestic NC machines and a part feeding robot, an assembly cell with a conveyor and 3 robots, an inspection cell, an AGV, an AS/RS, and a central control computer.

  • The Weighted Round Robin(na) discipline which is a sort of scheduling algorithm is quite simple and straightforward for handling multiple queues, and by Putting a different weight on each queue. In this paper, we propose new BSW structure, which can execute the WRR scheduling algorithm efficiently. Also, we develop a cell scheduling algorithm which is adapt in the new BSW structure. The Proposed BSW structure and the algorithm is capable of maintaining an allocated VC's weight correctly and decrease of average cell delay and maximum buffer length by serving other VC cell when empty in each VC queue. The proposed algorithm is a structure suitable for na implementation.

  • In this paper, we propose a distributed user scheduling with transmit power control based on the amount of generating interference to other base stations (BSs) in multi-cell multi-input multi-output (MIMO) networks. Assuming that the time-division duplexing (TDD) system is used, the interference channel from users to other cell BSs is obtained at each user. In the proposed scheduling, each user first generates a transmit beamforming vector by using singular value decompositon (SVD) over MIMO channels and reduces the transmit power if its generating interference to other BSs is larger than a predetermined threshold. Each BS selects the user with the largest effective channel gains among users, which reflects the adjusted power of users. Simulation results show that the proposed technique significantly outperforms the existing user scheduling algorithms.

  • In this study, we design a scheduling system for painting shop, called HYPOS(Hyundai heavy industry Painting shop Operating System) and develop a system implementing the design. The painting shop operations are currently scheduled manually by experts. Manual scheduling is a serious time consuming job and generally can not guarantee a full optimality. Building a traditional heuristic scheduling system lot this problem, however, is not promising because there are various kinds of constraints to be satisfied including space allocation of shipbuilding blocks in a painting cell. We, therefore, adopt a spatial scheduling approach and develop scheduling algorithms based on field-oriented scheduling heuristics and computational geometry. And we show that the algorithms can successfully be applied to the painting shop scheduling problem.

  • In this study, an intelligent scheduling with hybrid architecture, which integrates expert system and neural network, is proposed. Neural network is trained with the data acquired from simulation model of FMC to obtain the knowledge about the relationship between the state of the FMC and its best dispatching rule. Expert system controls the scheduling of FMC by integrating the output of neural network, the states of FMS, and user input. By applying the hybrid system to a scheduling problem, the human knowledge on scheduling and the generation of non-logical knowledge by machine teaming, can be processed in one scheduler. The computer simulation shows that comparing with MST(Minimum Slack Time), there is a little increment in tardness, 5% growth in flow time. And at breakdown, tardness is not increased by expert system comparing with EDD(Earliest Due Date).

  • In this paper, a cell scheduling algorithm which can be applied to all of the service class in ATM network is proposed. The proposed algorithm classifies the order of priority in each service class into 4 categories and generates the weight of each class service based on the traffic parameters which are negotiated in connection contract. The proposed algorithm guarantees QoS(Quality of Service) to the traffic which is sensitive to delay carrying out CBR and rt_VBR service. As it effectively manages the connection which has small bandwidth, it minimizes the cell delay in the queue. For verifying the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm the proposed algorithm is simulated with existing cell scheduling algorithm and the result is showed.

  • In this paper, we propose WRR cell scheduling algorithm that improve current smoothing scheme. In proposed cell scheduling algorithm, using the number of practical input cell in each VC and variable thats indicate weight and state of queue, we could service VC of buffer efficiently that input cells over weight value and input cells smaller than weight value. And, we could service multimedia data by providing remained bandwidth after that allocate to real time traffic with non-real time traffic. In this result, the number of serviceable average cells were increased and length of buffer was decreased. Through the computer simulation, we evaluated the performance of proposed algorithm. According to the results, the proposed algorithm showed good performance.
