DEA 모형을 이용한 국내 화물자동차운송업체의 상대적 효율성 분석 (Efficiency Analysis for Korean Trucking Companies based on the Data Envelopment Ananlysis(DEA))

  • 최근 물류환경의 급속한 변화로 인해 기존의 물류시스템과 운송도구들 또한 급속히 변화하는 추세이다. 내륙운송의 대부분을 담당하는 화물자동차운송업의 효율적인 운영과 경쟁력을 강화하기 위해 정확한 효율성 분석이 필수적이다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 DEA 모형을 이용하여 화물자동차운송업체의 효율성을 분석하였다. DEA 모형 중에서 CCR 모형과 BCC 모형을 사용하였다. 분석에 선정된 42개 화물자동차운송업체들의 효율성(CCR, BCC, 기업규모)과 규모수익성(RTS)을 분석하고 효율성의 투입-산출변수의 영향을 분석하고 또한 분석된 자료를 바탕으로 벤치마킹의 대상이 될 수 있는 화물자동차운송업체를 제시하였다. 분석 결과 CCR효율성이 1인 업체는 7개로 나타나고 BCC효율성인 1인 업체는 17개로 나타났다. 규모수익성은 IRS가 24개, DRS가 7개, CRS가 11개로 나왔다. IRS로 나온 화물운송업체는 비교적 규모가 작았으며 DRS로 나온 화물운송업체는 대부분 규모가 큰 업체였다. IRS로 나온 규모가 작은 업체들은 규모의 증가를 통해 수익성을 향상시킬 수 있고, DRS로 나온 규모가 큰 업체들은 규모의 감량화를 통해 수익성을 향상시킬 수 있을 것이다. Backward Stepwise를 통한 투입-산출변수 영향력 평가를 통해 총자본의 감소와 매출액 증대를 통해 화물자동차운송업체의 효율성을 개선할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

3차병원의 생산 효율성 측정 및 결정요인 분석 (A Study on Measuring Hospital Efficiency and Analyzing Its Determinants in Tertiary Hospitals: Data Envelopment Analysis)

  • Health care organizations have been faced with financial difficulties under turbulent health care environment. This situation led hospitals to concentrate their efforts to improve their managerial efficiency in various ways. This study aims to evaluate technical efficiency of 31 tertiary hospitals in Korea and find determinants which are closely related with hospital efficiency. Data envelopment analysis(DEA) and Tobit Model were adopted for study. For the analysis, human resource factors such as number of physicians, nurses, and administrative staffs are used as input variables and the number of inpatients and outpatients) are used as output variables. Among 31 hospitals, in CCR model, 8 hositals showed efficiency score 1 which means they have been operated in very efficient ways and BCC model showed 13 of 31 hospitals as efficient organizations. Next, we analyzed determinants which are closely related with hospital efficiency. By using Tobit model, the study showed hospital size, Quality of care, value added per capita, and revenue per patient were closely related with hospital efficiency, However, it appeared that financial status of hospitals(i.e : making profit or not) was not related with hospital efficiency.

DEA 모형을 이용한 부품소재산업의 효율성 분석 (DEA Model for Measuring the relative Efficiency of Korean Materials and Components Industry)

  • 우리나라 부품소재산업의 효율성을 분석하기 위해 48개의 부품소재업체들을 추출하여 DEA를 통한 효율성 분석을 실시하였다. CCR-I 모형과 BCC-I 모형를 통한 효율성 분석 결과, 효율적 기업과 비효율적 기업들을 파악할 수 있었고, 부품소재산업 업종별로도 분류하여 보았다. 비효율적 기업들이 효율적 기업이 되기 위한 투입 및 산출변수들의 개선 값들과 벤치마킹해야 할 참조집합을 제시하였다. 또한 규모효율성(scale efficiency)을 측정하여 비효율성의 원인이 규모에 의한 것인지 비효율적인 운영에 의한 것인지 분석하고, 규모수익성 결과에 따라 비효율적 기업들을 대상으로 규모의 증감에 따른 효율성 향상 방안을 제시할 수 있었다. 그리고 초효율성(super-efficiency) 분석을 통해 효율적 기업들간의 상대적 효율성 값도 제시하였다.

공공기관의 유형별 효율성 평가와 비효율성 원인의 규명에 관한 연구 (Efficiency Rating by Types of Public Institutions and Identification of Inefficiency Sources)

  • In recent years, attention to the high debt ratio in public institutions has pushed the government to make efforts in reducing the debt ratio. However, in order to stimulate the economy, the government needs drastically innovative measures that reduce debt by improving efficiency rather than moderate approaches that focus solely on debt reduction. Despite this need, no study has yet systematically analyzed the overall efficiency of domestic public institutions and identified the source of inefficiencies in each public entity. Therefore, largely two research questions are examined. First, this study compares the efficiency levels by types of public institutions. Second, this study identifies the cause of inefficiencies in each public institution and proposes directions for improving efficiency. Based on a 5-year data of 302 public institutions published in public business information systems and organizational websites from 2009 to 2013, Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) was performed. The input variables include the number of employees and total costs while the output variables include sales and net income. Reflecting the characteristics of public institutions, the input-oriented CCR model and input-oriented BCC model were utilized. Analysis results are as follows. First, market-oriented public institutions showed the highest efficiency while fund management quasi-governmental agencies showed the highest inefficiency. Second, scale efficiency score was measured by applying the CCR model and the BCC model on the organizations with the lowest efficiency level, fund management quasi-governmental agencies. Based on these analysis results, the source of inefficiency and detailed directions for improvement were proposed for Decision Making Units (DMUs) with low CCR and BCC scores.

Ligand Based CoMFA, CoMSIA and HQSAR Analysis of CCR5 Antagonists

  • In this study, we have developed QSAR models for a series of 38 piperidine-4-carboxamide CCR5 antagonists using CoMFA, CoMSIA and HQSAR methods. Developed models showed good statistics in terms of $q^2$ and $r^2$ values. Best predictions obtained with standard CoMFA model ($r^2$ = 0.888, $q^2$ = 0.651) and combined CoMSIA model ($r^2$ = 0.892, $q^2$ = 0.665) with electrostatics and H-bond acceptor parameter. The validity of developed models was assessed by test set of 9 compounds, which showed good predictive correlation coefficient for CoMFA (0.804) and CoMSIA (0.844). Bootstrapped analysis showed statistically significant and robust CoMFA (0.968) and CoMSIA (0.936) models. Best HQSAR model was obtained with a $q^2$ of 0.662 and $r^2$ of 0.936 using atom, connection, hydrogen, donor and acceptor as parameters and fragment size (7-10) with optimum number of 6 components. Predictive power of developed HQSAR model was proved by test set and it was found to be 0.728.

지방의료원의 효율성에 대한 정태적 및 동태적 분석 (Static and Dynamic Analysis of Efficiency of Korean Regional Public Hospitals)

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the efficiency change and its determinants of the regional public hospitals. We utilize 34 regional public hospital's panel data for 6 years from 2003 to 2008. We use DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis)-CCR, BCC model, DEA/Window model, and DEA Profiling. The empirical results show the following findings. First, technical efficiency shows that approximately 3.6% of inefficiency exists on the regional public hospitals and it reveals that the cause for technical inefficiency is due to scale inefficiency. Second, DEA/Window results show that the stable dissimilarity by standard deviation, LDP of CCR. Third, the results of partial efficiency by DEA Profiling show that increase efficiency depends on the number of beds, doctors, and nurses.

  • The resistance of tumour cells against cytotoxic drug is significant limitation in successful chemotherapeutic treatment of cancer. To date, no crystal structure is available for human P-gp. We developed homology model for human P-gp NBD2 by using coordinates of transporter associated protein (TAP1). Docking study was performed for 8-geranyl-chrysin (Flavonoids) inhibitor in the NBD2 model. Ligand-protein interactions were determined which indicates that the 8-geranyl chrysin shares two overlapping sites in the cytosolic domains of P-gp, the ATP site and a hydrophobic steroid-binding site.

DEA를 이용한 서비스효율성 측정에 관한 연구 - 국내 5개 시중은행의 서비스품질지수를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Measurement of Service Efficiency using DEA - Focused on the SQI of Five Domestic Banks in Korea -)

  • Nowadays, there are many companies which employ the SQI measurement to assess service quality. The purpose of this study is to measure the service efficiency for Bank Industry. In this paper, we tried to measure the efficiency of service quality and overall customer satisfaction by using Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA). Rather than using the usual method of converting the Service Quality Index(SQI) into mean value, we applied CCR/BCC models in DEA to service quality efficiency. Also, DEA/PS Model is recommended as appropriate model for evaluating service efficiency by complementing the shortfalls of the weighted value of DEA Model. In this study, six dimensions of service quality were considered as input variables and output variables(overall customer satisfaction, reusing intention, and word of mouth). The result of this study statistically verifies that 5 DMUs are relatively efficient, and intensive activities for service efficiency are needed for 20 sample branches. Managerial implications based on the analysis were suggested.

부산항과 광양항 컨테이너 터미널 운영의 효율성 비교 분석에 관한 연구 (A Comparative Analysis of Container Terminal Operation in Busan and Kwangyang Port)

  • 본 논문은 부산항과 광양항 컨테이너 터미널 운영의 효율성을 비교 분석함으로써 비효율적으로 운영되고 있는 컨테이너 터미널을 파악하여 효율성을 향상시킬 수 있는 방안을 제시하고자 한다. CCR 모형의 분석 결과에 따르면 2004년 감만부두와 2004년 감천부두가 가장 효율적으로 운영된 부두이며 가장 비효율적으로 운영된 부두는 광양항 2단계 부두로 나타났다. BCC 모형에 의하면 감천부두, 우암부두가 3년 연속 가장 효율적으로 운영되고 있는 부두로 나타났으며, 감만부두는 2004년에 효율적으로 운영된 부두로 밝혀졌다. 가장 비효율적인 부두는 2002년 신감만부두와 2002년 허치슨부두로 나타났다. 연구의 결과에서 비효율적으로 운영되고 있는 터미널은 투입요소에 비해 산출요소인 컨테이너 처리실적이 비교 대상 부두에 비해 낮다는 것을 의미하며, 유휴시설이 존재함을 나타낸다. 따라서 적극적인 마케팅 활동으로 컨테이너 처리 물동량을 증가시켜야 할 것이다.

Efficiency Analysis of Spanish Container Ports Using Undesirable Variables and the Malmquist Index

  • Spain is Europe's second-largest country with total throughput reaching 16.7 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) by 2020. The purpose of this study was to measure and compare the efficiency of 17 container terminals. As a study method, the DEA-CCR model, undesirable variable, and Malmquist Index (MI) were used for data envelopment analysis (DEA). The study results are as follow: (1) DEA-CCR is used to evaluate basic efficiency. The most efficient terminals are decision-making units DMU 1 (APM Terminals (Algeciras Port)), DMU 2 (Total Terminal International Algeciras (Algeciras Port)) and DMU 5 (Barcelona Europe South Terminal (Barcelona Port)). (2) Undesirable DEA was conducted to suggest inefficiency from the undesirable output. Overall, the efficiency scores were reduced. However, DMU 1, DMU 2, and DMU 5 maintained efficiency scores regardless of the finish factor. (3) Malmquist Index was used to observe technology and efficiency changes dynamically. The changes in TCI affected Spanish container terminals more than the Technical Efficiency Change Index (TECI) in 2018-2019. However, in 2019-2020, the TECI was 2.706, higher than the TCI value, indicating that the change in TECI had more influence on the increase in productivity. This study offers a broader understanding of Spanish container terminals.
